  1. shit... forgot about that one. I need to finish that one too lol.... Interestingly enough though, it was one of my least favorite of the Tales games. I kinda feel like they fucked up the combat. The whole appeal of Tales for me was that the fights could last literally seconds. In Arise, you just kinda chip away at the mobs until you can pull off a combo move or something and it really drags out the standard fights. Makes grinding for levels or mats really tedious.
  2. Yeah I've played a pretty big chunk of DQ11, but that was back when it first originally released back in 2017 or so... it's been a while since I've even booted it up so I'd be basically starting over. I've been tempted to go with the S version instead. It's kind of a shitty trade-off since the S version has extra stuff and plays in 60 fps, but it's also a port of the Switch version which is graphically inferior to the original.
  3. Okay. While I'm still working on my backlog project, I've really been getting the urge to play through a JRPG. The vast majority of RPG type games I've been playing in the past year have been Western RPG's in one form or another, whether it's Diablo or some other ARPG or something like Starfield or Gothic. I haven't had that scripted, linear narrative cliche RPG experience for a while. Some of them I've started at one point or another, but it's been so long I'd probably just start a fresh playthrough. So, in my backlog I have.... The ENTIRE Ys series.... (so like, 9 games) Xuan Yuan Sword 7 Sword Art Online Alicisssomething Lactatorisisationalism Trials of Mana Tales of Zestiria Final Fantasy XII Dragon Quest XI I'm leaning toward the Ys series because all of them together would probably equal the playtime of a Tales game or that Sword Art Online. But I dunno... any suggestions?
  4. Not only does Bing give show those search results, it rewards you for searching for it.
  5. I finally got the urge to tinker with Heroic this weekend since I own a shit ton of GOG games and I took advantage of that Epic Store giveaway over the holidays. The newer stuff works fine but it's been hit or miss on some of those GOG games. Next up is EmuDeck but I think I'm gonna need to invest in a bigger SD card for that one.... EDIT: Highlights on what DID work... I only booted them up and played a few minutes to test but... Singularity (excited about this one) Blades of Time Ys 1&2 Saints Row Reboot Shadowman Remastered Mars War Logs Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance II I'll try some more tonight, but damn those things take forever to download from the GOG store.
  6. Considering I bought it then didn't boot it up for those three months, yes lol. Also I had to get to it soon as I feel like the spoiler expiration date is imminent.
  7. Alan Wake II | XPN Junkie GAMES.PAINTBALLPINUPSOFTX.COM Well that game was fantastic. Took me a while though. I wanted to keep it for when I could give it 100% of my attention, which isn't often. Also it turned out to be a bit longer than I expected. Almost... too long.
  8. Goddamit, Embracer. I know this isn't possible, but man I wish Embracer could be forced to relinquish all of the IP's they purchased under this bogus endeavor. This whole fiasco has literally been the worst thing to happen to gaming in recent memory. I really do wish they'd have a fire sale and either sell off the IP's to their original studios or let someone else buy them. Because Embracer is never going to recover from this, and all of these IP's will be stuck in legal limbo after Embracer finally goes extinct.
  9. I don't know if you can shadow drop a game at budget price and expect it to boost Game Pass subs. The people who already subscribe are like "sweet!" and the ones who don't likely just dropped the 30 bones. Since everyone was raving about it, it was a pretty safe purchase if you're into games like that. If you aren't, it probably didn't sway you one way or the other. Also, "there are signs" doesn't really mean a whole lot, unless MS admits it themselves. Which they won't.
  10. I remember being a kid in the 80's and playing the original Castlevania, and daydreaming of the day when games didn't look like the original Castlevania. Dunno about ya'll, but I lived through the 8-bit days. I'm not in a hurry to go back. If I do get the itch, that's what RetroArch is for.
  11. I'd be more annoyed by this, but Ubi honestly hasn't put out much of anything that hasn't had Assassin's Creed or Far Cry stamped on the box for a while now. They used to be one of my favorite third party publishers, but they stopped funding other projects years ago.
  12. I'm not sure it's fair to compare Starfield to Elder Scrolls, in terms of quality. There were so many things they tried that were new (to Bethesda) in Starfield. Whether they succeeded in most of them seems to depend on who you ask. But Elder Scrolls has a world and a template already in place. They know how to make an ES game. Again, whether that's enjoyable or not depends on who you ask. I have always personally enjoyed the Elder Scrolls series far more than GTA. GTA is fine, but I've honestly never been able to get through an entire story, in any of them. I get so bored and burnt out on them, and it probably doesn't help much that I haven't liked any of the characters in GTA IV or V. And GTA Online was just annoying.
  13. I'm glad they seem to be adding new tracks on a regular basis... but man would it kill them to put in some of their more distinctive tracks? After a while all these licensed tracks seem to blend together.
  14. I had one of the Golden Sun games back in the day. I don't remember which one. I don't think I got very far in it though.
  15. I would actually be 100% ok if it was an Uncharted rip. An Uncharted game but set in the 1930's with that musical score and really loud "wpshhh!" sounds when I punch someone? Yes, please. But that's just me.
  16. Ageism is definitely a thing; I've experienced it first-hand. That said, I don't think that was the case here.
  17. I do hope that by the time it hits Xbox, my buddies and I will be ready for a different co-op game. Right now we're bouncing between Diablo IV and Remnant II, and it's gonna be a hard sell to get them on board with FFXIV.
