  1. It's interesting how Kojima can crank out two Death Stranding games and announce a new game "after he wraps up with DS2" while Microsoft has gotten nothing more than a teaser trailer for OD years after their supposed "partnership". MS been sucking him off while he makes winky eyes at Sony for too long now. I'm not expecting this "interactive experience" to be anything more than a social experiment. I'll also note that I have absolutely zero interest in anything he does and haven't enjoyed one of his games since MGS2. I think he enjoys the smell of his own farts far too much and the Keighly/Sony/Microsoft circle jerk over him is pathetic. I think they wasted way too much time on Death Stranding 2 in the State of Play. It doesn't matter if you see 30 seconds of a Kojima game or 30 minutes, you're still not going to have the slightest clue what's going on anyway, and I hate that these game showcases waste so much time on him. The Kojima fans will play anything he shits out regardless, and the people like me will try it for an hour, realize it's still the same nonsensical bullshit he puts in every game, and move on. I'd rather that time be spent on smaller developers and projects that actually need the attention. /rant Apparently I've been holding this in for a while now.
  2. Looks like the GOG version is gone now too. Sucks. I beat it back in the day though so I'm good. It's been on deep discounts multiple times over the years so if you kept passing on it, that's on you lol.
  3. Dirt 2 was one of my favorites. That game was arcade racer first and sim second. It had a great blend of circuit races and rally races. I played the shit out of it. Unfortunately Dirt 3 focused more on that gymkhana crap and it was all downhill from there. Dirt 5 was... weird. I'm not so much a rally racing fan as I am an off-road racing fan. Rally just happens to fit in the category. There's even this knock-off Dirt game called Baja: Edge of Control that's not great but it's actually more enjoyable then it probably should be. And it goes on sale for like, $5 all the time. My only gripe with it is that there is this one race type event where you need to drive through gates and they're flanked by barriers that will slow you down. The game is literally called "edge of control" and they're expecting you to be going balls-out and threading a needle. It's frustrating to say the least.
  4. I was actually thinking the same thing. I couldn't tell by any of the written previews what the game was supposed to be, so I downloaded the demo on PS5 and played through all three parts and I still don't know wtf is going on.
  5. 40 minutes for 15 games? That's less than three minutes per game. Still I guess it will be nice to finally be reminded why I have this big white behemoth sitting on my shelf.
  6. The only thing I remember about Stellar Blade was that after the reveal, the developers had to defend their decision to give their character a hot ass.
  7. Most of those studios had to be big enough to crank out a major CoD release every two or three years. If CoD is no longer going to be an annual release, the size of those studios is probably no longer necessary. That's just me trying to think like a major corp. though.
  8. Sounds like this guy was expecting it, but at the same time not prepared for it.
  9. That describes most of my purchases. And yeah that consists of a porn game or three. But at least I know why I bought those lol.
  10. I wouldn't count it out, but keep an eye on Game Pass. Because there's no way MS would release it on PS+ first. Once it hits GP, then the possibility of it coming to PS+ gets more real.
  11. Can't wait to pre-load this so that I can play it a year from now after I finally get around to the other 9 Yakuza games.
  12. Palworld Under 'Investigation' As Pokémon Company Issues Statement WWW.PUREXBOX.COM "We intend to investigate and take appropriate measures..." - There's been some discussion on social media over the past f... The strange thing in this scenario is that there are some scary fanatical Pokeman fans that are literally going to do the fucking legal work Nintendo, one of the most litigious and anti-consumer companies on the planet. And these weirdos will defend them with their lives, it seems.
  13. "Unforetold" Because "Nobody Saw That Coming!" doesn't sound as mysterious.
  14. Every once in a while I'll get sucked into a game where I don't want to play anything else until I finish it. But it's rare. Alan Wake 2 was the most recent, and whenever a Resident Evil comes out. But other than that, I'm usually bouncing through multiple games. At the moment, I have Warhammer 40K Space Marine and Yakuza 0 going on the Deck when I'm away. When I'm home, I'm bouncing between Starfield and Call of Duty. I'm rolling through a co-op campaign in Remnant II with a buddy, so when he's around we're chipping away at that. Unless our other buddy gets on, then we're likely playing Diablo IV. That's not even counting when I boot up something like Forza Motorsport just to get in a race or two.
  15. So don't flop down in my chair like a 300 lb sack of potatoes. Got it.
  16. Man, I rented practically every NES game I could get my hands on back in the day, and most of them were terrible. But as far as games that I actually purchased, I'm pretty sure it was a N64 games. Actually, there is one that sticks in my head. I remember seeing this game in a GamePro ad and remembering Shadowgate from the NES. I saved my allowance for like, a month to buy that game, and the day I bought it I sat down and played it, and then beat it in like, two hours. Fuck that game. To this day I still want my $65 back.
  17. This industry was set to implode eventually anyway. It needs a hard reset. Go back to simpler games. Love or hate Game Pass, I kinda like what MS is going for. They know they can't spend years and years on giant expansive games and sustain that model, and even though they're still trying to get those inital projects out the door, they look to be focusing on shorter more digestible experiences that they can (hopefully) get done quicker. I actually like the idea of Hellblade 2 being a short experience. I'd prefer most of MS's games to be in the 10-15 hour range. Games like Hi-Fi Rush used to be the norm back in the day, but now it's like this novel thing that you can get a short, good experience for a decent price. I completely expect Gears 6 to be relatively short, as well. And that Indiana Jones game I'd be willing to bet is less than 20 hours long. Also, I get that indie devs basically fill that gap, but indie devs are small studios that aren't keeping hundreds or thousands of people employed. Not like Ubisoft and EA used to do back in the day by cranking out hundreds of licensed shovelware every year. They might have been crap, but they made money and kept people's jobs intact.
  18. Just got EmuDeck up and running on my system last night. For some reason though, it's showing a lot of my roms twice.
  19. I could probably play the first few in the series in the same amount of time it would take to play through one of the other games. They don't look to be very long until you get to Ys VIII and IX.
  20. shit... forgot about that one. I need to finish that one too lol.... Interestingly enough though, it was one of my least favorite of the Tales games. I kinda feel like they fucked up the combat. The whole appeal of Tales for me was that the fights could last literally seconds. In Arise, you just kinda chip away at the mobs until you can pull off a combo move or something and it really drags out the standard fights. Makes grinding for levels or mats really tedious.
  21. Yeah I've played a pretty big chunk of DQ11, but that was back when it first originally released back in 2017 or so... it's been a while since I've even booted it up so I'd be basically starting over. I've been tempted to go with the S version instead. It's kind of a shitty trade-off since the S version has extra stuff and plays in 60 fps, but it's also a port of the Switch version which is graphically inferior to the original.
  22. Okay. While I'm still working on my backlog project, I've really been getting the urge to play through a JRPG. The vast majority of RPG type games I've been playing in the past year have been Western RPG's in one form or another, whether it's Diablo or some other ARPG or something like Starfield or Gothic. I haven't had that scripted, linear narrative cliche RPG experience for a while. Some of them I've started at one point or another, but it's been so long I'd probably just start a fresh playthrough. So, in my backlog I have.... The ENTIRE Ys series.... (so like, 9 games) Xuan Yuan Sword 7 Sword Art Online Alicisssomething Lactatorisisationalism Trials of Mana Tales of Zestiria Final Fantasy XII Dragon Quest XI I'm leaning toward the Ys series because all of them together would probably equal the playtime of a Tales game or that Sword Art Online. But I dunno... any suggestions?
