PC Tech PC won't turn on. Might need a new PSU
AbsolutSurgen replied to Brick's topic in PC/Mac Technical and PCCB
You might want to try this to confirm it is your PSU. -
Pierre Poilievre is a douche. However, that doesn't make Trudeau any better of a PM. Polls, despite Poilievre's personal unpopularity ARE showing the CPC's getting a plurality of the seats if an election were to be held today.

General Gaming I hate how big video games have gotten
AbsolutSurgen replied to Fizzzzle's topic in The Spawn Point
Wow. What I had done is have an old 1TB SSD filled up with backlog games. When I bought the Steam Deck, I downloaded a ton of games too. This came in handy when I was at the hospital for 3 weeks, which blocked Steam on their WiFi -- and downloading games on my cell plan wasn't going to happen. Most of the time, I'm queing up a download weeks before I plan to play the game. -

The Coliseum was a shithole. Oakland could no longer support an NFL franchise. The biggest part of the Raiders fan base is in LA, and the NFL blocked them from moving there.

A 50 GB game takes about 10 minutes to download. How slow is your internet? -
The Canadian markup on Nvidia FE was around 40% in $C vs. $US. (4090 - $2.099 vs. $1,659 and 4080 -- $1,659 vs. $1,199). That would put the 4070Ti MSRP at around C$1,120 ($800*1.4). images/cc-og.jpg Shop for Powered By nVidia & more - Canada Computers WWW.CANADACOMPUTERS.COM Everyday savings on Powered By nVidia, Visit Canada Computers & Electronics in-store / online for the best prices Deals and Promotions. Huh? They missed two clear PI in the first half (one against each team). You might be able to argue the one on the Raiders, but the uncalled PI that prevented a touchdown by Adams is inexcusable.

The Chiefs are so confident they are playing ring-around-the-rosie before going for a touchdown.

Surprised me as well. Other sports who have had players have heart attacks in similar circumstances (Chris Pronger in the NHL Playoffs, and Christian Eriksen at Euro 2020) have had the game continue while they were sent to hospital. I completely understand the NFL not wanting to continue playing the same evening. But the day after, even if they had to play in empty stadium, seems like a no brainer.

IMHO, the NFL made a huge mistake cancelling the Bills/Bengals game. For competitive balance, it needed to be played Tuesday night (even if there was no crowd). The Chiefs have one more win than the Bills, losing out on home field advantage is a huge potential impact on the AFC Championship game. [Note: I'm a RAIDERS fan bitching about the Chiefs potentially losing out.] ============================== I don't get some of the Raiders fans pushing for Stidham to be a starter next year (I suspect they are the same ones who pushed for Mariota last year). He looked good for the first 5 drives against the 49ers, and then didn't for the next 6. This combined with how mediocre he looked in the pre-season, and EVERY OTHER TIME he stepped on an NFL field... Even if he looks good against a worse than average Chiefs defence, you just can't trust him to be your #1. And compared to the last few games -- he had Waller/Refrow playing all/most snaps and the running game was working...

I agree it was overkill. Unfortunately due to weird Canadian pricing the EVGA 1300W and 1000W were within $2 of each other -- I'll look at another brand to save some money. I wish I was still in the US -- right now the I can get the i5-13600KF for ~C$140 cheaper. Thanks for the feedback on the SSD -- switching it to a 980 Pro for the moment.

PC 4080s are Overpriced and not selling
AbsolutSurgen replied to AbsolutSurgen's topic in The Spawn Point
GTX-1070 was a $400 card in 2016. In 2023, RTX-4070 Ti is a $800 card. Normal inflation would get you to $500 max (maybe $100 more for the Ti) so $600, not $800. There is a reason RTX-4080 and RTX-4070Ti were still sitting on shelves at launch.
