What I have read about the testimony: 1) OPS was incompetent, particularly Chief Sloly 2) Some senior folks at OPP were in the process of developing proposal to take control from OPS (because they were incompetent). 3) Sloly resigned before they could do that 4) Plan was in place to clear protest (the one that was implemented), and police did not feel they needed EA to implement this plan I'm going to wait for the final report, but so far, it doesn't look good for the commission agreeing that the requirements of the EA being used were met.

The inquiry into the EA isn't going particularly well for the Government. So far, the consensus seems to be that the convoy could have been cleared without it. And, it was mostly incompetence on the part of the Ottawa police (in particular their police chief) that caused it to go on for so long. Trudeau has mostly been silent on Legault's use of the NWC, which is far more egregious.

I assume the only reason it wasn't on Steam was because of the EGS?

I don't even know if this is legitimate, but I thought the art was cool.

"Back to work" legislation isn't anything new in Canada -- Trudeau did largely the same thing to the postal workers in 2016. All this does is prevent the drawn out legal challenges that somehow preventing people from striking is harming their freedom of expression. These contracts expire every three years, and there is a long history of the various unions rotating strikes between the different unions to create as much disruption for parents as possible. After all the pain these unions caused 3 years ago, I don't there are too many parents that are all that sympathetic to their cause.

Twitter never had any guard rails. Given you’re spending your own money on this site, with no attempt at commercialization, you don’t need to justify yourself to anyone. -

The contrast between how good the Denver defence is compared to how bad their offence is .... is striking.- 21 replies

Your site your rules. So much sporting/gaming news is posted on Twitter these days, that Twitter as a primary source is hard to avoid. Anyone know of any good free image hosting sites? -

Bills are 31.9 PPG (1st in league). Raiders are 27.2PPG (3rd in league), but 33.3 PPG over last 3. (Including 32 on a Denver defence that hasn't given up more than 19 to anyone else). The Raiders only have 3 of their 11 remaining games against teams with winning records (KC, LAC, Seahawks). So the schedule doesn't look like the obstacle. Seahawks and Chargers both struggle to defend the run, so the Raiders O seems to match up well against them. When you're 2-4 a lot of things need to go right to make the playoffs -- if they do make it, I think they will probably need to win in the finale against the Chiefs.- 21 replies

I am not aware of anyone in Raider Nation who predicted how the Raiders running game would look over the last 3 games. The O-Line has been dominant in pass blocking, and boy has Josh Jacob stepped up his game. If they continue to be this productive (and I don't see how this is possible), they could become the #1 offence in the NFL. If only the defence hadn't regressed so much this year....- 21 replies
