  1. I am shocked to hear that people weren't willing to move from New York to Florida over this vaccine. I'm also shocked they weren't willing to work at one of the thousands of restaurants in the state that are struggling to stay open as nobody is seems to be willing to work for less than minimum wage in the middle of a pandemic. Shocked. More NY Health Workers Get Vaccinated, Others Lose Jobs or Pay as Hochul Deadline Hits WWW.NBCNEWYORK.COM Thousands of healthcare workers in New York faced getting vaccinated against COVID-19 or losing their jobs received at least one dose as Gov. Kathy Hochul’s statewide mandate neared, according to... I wonder how many of these would have been willing to be on unemployment to see if the state came back begging for them to return. New York won't extend unemployment benefits to healthcare workers fired over COVID-19 vaccine mandate WWW.BUSINESSINSIDER.COM The state's vaccine mandate for healthcare workers goes into effect on Monday, potentially causing staffing shortages at some healthcare facilities as thousands of people are not eligible to work.
  2. Nearly all of them are just going to get vaccinated. Very few people are actually willing to relocate across country for a job and there also isn't a ton of other not-nurse work that certified nurses can do that's also in high demand but isn't for shitty retail or restaurant pay. It's like the Massachusetts State Police. They're also under a vaccine mandates and the union threatened folks were going to quit over it. In the end, like 20 of the 2000-man force may have resigned, but really just retired. None of those people were going to give up their pensions over this.
  3. It would be a bit of a mess if it didn't work that way. This is the way it is in every industry. If you work as a contractor for an engineering firm and invent something during your time there; you don't own the patent, even if you get a cute little plaque commemorating the patent you created. This would also destroy the freelance industry entirely. I used to do some freelance graphic design. It would be wild if I could claim ownership to, like, logos I had made.
  4. Yeah, there are very good Bluetooth 6 button Genesis clones or there for like $30, including 8bitdo's that will also work on the Switch.
  5. Finally beat this. I quite enjoyed myself. This is not, in any crazy world, a game of the year contender. I don't really feel like it overstayed it's welcome, though I probably would have felt that way if I had gone for 100% with the game. What it does do it does really well. It's very much a well conceived first outing. You can tell they put a lot of time into thinking this one through. Everything fits really well and nothing really feels out of place. Rather than cutting corners, it feels like they just kept their expectations in check and were realistic about what they could and couldn't do with a small team and a lot of outsourcing. I'm a fan. I'm looking forward to what Ember Lab does next.
  6. That's how I got hooked on The Sopranos. There was a weekend where they aired like the entire first season. I watched that, really enjoyed it, and then went over to Blockbuster to rent the rest to catch up for the next season.
  7. Nintendo says it's because they don't know how to improve upon GX or what they would add to differentiate it. That game came out nearly twenty years ago, so they're just being a very Nintendo brand of crazy. They could make it an RPG, focus it on track creation, focus on vehicle creation. Like, there are a million things they could do.
  8. Does nobody care about this franchise? Hey, they've finally allowed you to marry whomever you want. Still looks a little rough, but it did look like a nice mix of Frontiers and 4. Localization is taking forever, though. The game came out in Japan in May.
  9. I just installed it and tried it out. I even like the choice to animated characters on something greater than twos. Ok, looked it up and it's on fives. I approve. This could be fun to play through as soon as I'm done with Kena.
  10. Am I the only person that actually likes the art style? It's literally the only thing that interested me about this game.
  11. I will be legitimately upset if the N64 controller has no rumble. Also, I hope the version of Mario 64 that Nintendo brings here is the Shidou edition that supported rumble.
  12. I'm more concerned with Netflix cancelling the series than the people involved not having stories to tell. There's the 26 episode series, the movie, the manga, and whatever original stories they want to tell. Also, after I posted that I did read an interview with the folks in charge and it looks like Ed will be in the first season. They haven't announced who'll be playing her, and the season drops in less than two months. At this point, I have to imagine she'll be a season 2 teaser. As in, she'll be there, but not until the last episode of the season.
  13. Absolutely, since all of like 5 people actually played Four Swords on the GCN with four people.
  14. I think it's more about the thought of what these characters are going to sound like after decades of Charles Martinet. At the same time, yeah, Mario was never going to sound anything like Charles Martinet. Even putting aside the over the top accent, it would be wildly grating over the course of 90 or so minutes.
  15. I wonder how many episodes they're planning to adapt. No Ed, so I'm wondering if they plan to keep things to just the first third of series, before she's introduced. Looks like this first season is 10 episodes. It's conceivable to run the season for 10 episodes without Ed. That would be easy enough.
  16. Yes, they're saying that they believe the voting system was hacked, but the best evidence of that is that the servers used have a log buffer that overwrites itself every like week or so. Is that totally normal? Yes, but it's OMG sus, so we think this was totally hax.
  17. Four Swords was straight Nintendo, but Minish Cap was Capcom. I'm pretty sure Four Swords only existed to prove that the Gameboy link cable thing was an awesome idea.
  18. Starfox 64 3D is also an amazing remake and going back to the N64 game would be equally as weird.
  19. The CD gamepad is so good, though. That thumb joystick feels unlike anything else ever made. What I really want is the PlayStation Neo Geo CD controller with 6 face buttons, shoulder buttons, and the clicky stick. One of these days I'll convinced myself that it's totally worth spending $150 on a used controller from more than a decade ago.
  20. There are no standard modern controllers that are a good replacement for the N64. I have a couple of SNES clones, an 8bitdo NES controller, a couple of arcade joysticks, and a couple Xbox Series X controllers; all for my PC. The N64 is the only one that doesn't quite feel right. I'd also kill for a Neo Geo CD gamepad with the clicky joystick. Unfortunately, the Neo Geo Mini controller doesn't do clicky sticks and the USB pad for the PlayStation are hard to come by and expensive when they do show up.
  21. I'll get the service, specifically for my son, but I'll totally buy one of those controllers to use with RetroArch. There really aren't any good N64 knockoffs on the market.
  22. Mario with a gun is brand new. Nintendo's been pretty clear to not give Mario a gun until the Rabbits game. I think I read that Nintendo never planned to allow it, but Miyamoto just loved Ubisoft's demo that much. Hey, there's a video about this very subject...
  23. I'd imagine other Rare games are far more likely than GoldenEye; so maybe Blast Corps and Jet Force Gemini. Nintendo has released a full list of games... A new Nintendo Switch Online membership plan with expanded benefits is coming - Nintendo - Official Site WWW.NINTENDO.COM
  24. AZ Republicans: Democrats for months have been calling these auditors a joke, but now they want you to trust them just because they think Biden won?
