  1. You sure about that? I swear I remember Apple saying they have no idea how much they made from the App Store. How would they even know they made these billions off gaming?
  2. I once worked at a firm where one of the IT Directors saw a loose Ethernet cable dangling on the floor and plugged it into the nearest switch. Network loops are cool when STP isn't working right.
  3. Guaranteed that those engineers aren't nearly being paid enough. That sounds awful. I somehow doubt Facebook has ever done a cold start test for everything. What's worse here is that they didn't just connect all they're external things together. Their internal things were also connected to their external things and it was all one gigantic headphone cable in the cloud.
  4. I just tested mine. Any apps bought from the store don't work when it ties to verify a license. However, it did work fine when I use the sideloaded Virtual Desktop to wirelessly stream games from my PC. Not completely dead.
  5. This would only happen if Facebook used facebook.com as their internal domain and...I could totally believe that's a thing, even if it's not considered best practice anywhere on Earth.
  6. I buy Humble Bundles all the time. I most recently picked up the latest Humble VR Bundle. Between EGS free games, Humble Bundle, and the Xbox Game Pass, it's wildly inexpensive to have access to a huge library of PC games. I picked it up mainly for A Fisherman's Tale and Paper Beast. Paper Beast has been my big VR game lately. Fisherman's Tale will follow it, though I didn't realize it wouldn't be a very easy to play while seated until after I gave it a try. Toddlers make standing VR games tricky. I have smacked a few kids playing Superhot.
  7. I totally get that, but to me, if I can wait untill there's a sale then I can wait until I actually have time to play it. I'd rather spend $5 on the game I'm playing now and keep $35 in my wallet than spend the $40 today for games I might not touch until a couple months down the road. I usually only really have the time to play a small handful of games every month. It just comes across to me as one of those random excuses people g6ave to hate EGS. Like the biggest problem isn't that you don't want to segment your library between Steam and EGS, it's that Epic doesn't let you give them a a more money?
  8. Oh, I drop games I'm not enjoying all the time. I think I mentioned elsewhere around here. I bet often drop games, even if I'm like 50 hours in. I meant to ask if anyone is actually playing all the games they buy. I swear I saw some numbers a while back that the majority of people's Steam backlogs were unplayed games.
  9. If I buy one at all. I don't normally buy a bunch of games I might want to play later, even if they're on my wishlist and on sale. Money is more valuable to me today than sitting in a unused games library. I don't normally buy games until I'm ready to play them. Even Metroid Dread, which I've been waiting for decades for, I didn't buy until this week since it comes out on Friday. Unless the game is a day one purchase for me, it can usually wait.
  10. Eh, the last couple of PC games I bought were on EGS. Specifically, Kena and Behind the Frame. I do have zero idea how you all have so much time you're scooping up multiple games at the same time on a fairly regular basis that the lack of a shopping cart becomes a problem. Do any of you all actually beat the games you buy?
  11. I don't do coffee, but this is definitely me changing diapers or getting my son ready for school in the morning. I'm always down for a goofy QWOP-like. That's what we're calling this genre, right?
  12. It's really dumb how much fun Mario Chase is, given how simple the entire premise was. It was easily the most time I spent on anything else in Nintendo Land. Luigi's Mansion and that Animal Crossing game were also brilliant and wound up being huge time drains for me, family, and friends.
  13. Yes, but you would have gotten the same answer anytime between 1966 and today.
  14. I'll play it depending on how much it's tied to the JRPG's story. It looks like fun, so if they're not that tied together I may check it out later. And yeah, this is all likely detailed in the Kickstarter I backed, but I don't follow these things very closely. I usually assume the Kickstarter will be a failure I thought was worth rolling the dice on and then being pleasantly surprised when I actually get something five years later.
  15. A guy that believes hurricanes and earthquakes hitting Louisiana and Haiti are because of Satanists and that the gays have wear blood swapping rings to give straights AIDS. He's spent the last sixty years being a major force helping push American Christians into the crazy.
  16. I forgot he was even still alive and kicking. It's a shame he's just going to be replaced with some other crazy person.
  17. Pretty sure they were only that high because at the time they were counting it as percentage of eligible persons. Once the vaccine became widely available, the real percentage dropped down into the 50s and then into the low 60s, today.
  18. I saw the thread title and thought this is what the assumption was going to be. No way is Nintendo going stream only on a console. I could see a scenario where their dock was a wireless streamer back to the TV. That is, like the opposite of the Wii U. That could also be wishful thinking. For those that didn't have a Wii U, it's really hard to explain just how Nintendo Land is one of the best couch multiplayer games ever made.
  19. I really liked the first game and completely forget the second ever came out. I should do something about that.
  20. In an fairness, my joke doesn't quite work the same without the fuck up and that sounds more important to me than keeping definitions right to Catholics.
  21. Ha! I'm Protestant, never been Catholic, so I never bothered learning about the differentiation there. EVERYONE uses it in that context. You people must truly be suffering.
