  1. Talking to a friend about how could a game being a PS2 era action adventure be a negative when we realized we're old fucks because the PS2 came out over two decades ago. A lot of gamers and reviewers in their twenties had the PS3 as their first console in like kindergarten or first grade. You know, just in case anyone else wanted to tell old today.
  2. If conservative voters only see the world through weirdo conspiracy theories then this is probably the right's best plan for getting them vaccinated.
  3. Anyone can choose what kind of demo to offer. It's up to the publisher. Nintendo usually does limited game demos for their stuff, but a hundred hour game like Story of Seasons can probably get away with a week demo. Honestly, Nintendo should offer the same for like Animal Crossing, but they didn't exactly have much of a problem selling that one. Thinking about it, they should do free weekends for like Splatoon every now and then. Also, it's really not difficult to get screenshots off a Switch. Just connect it to either Twitter or Facebook and send them there.
  4. Yes, Trump dying right then and there would have saved a bunch of lives. Trump being old and overweight and surviving bolstered the thinking that COVID want nearly as bad as it could have been. With Trump not there, I doubt anyone in his family would have argued that he only died because he was old and overweight.
  5. There's got to be at least one other dork around here that found this as funny as I did...
  6. So, idea time. Can there just be a rotating fund used for those sued under Texas law? And then every doctor and person involved in abortion can tell one guy in Texas and that one guy can then go ahead of sue while everyone involved just choose to represent themselves. Doctors can then pull from the fund to pay the $10k to the one guy and then the one guy can go ahead and put it back in the fund. Someone explain to me why this wouldn't work under the law as it's written.
  7. Yeah, I don't see anything in this game to elevate it to GOTY contender. It will have to do something really special over the next dozen or hours.
  8. Ars says it's about 15 hours long. Review: Kena: Bridge of Spirits is this year’s best Zelda 35th-anniversary gift ARSTECHNICA.COM Studio's first-ever game is a 15-hour adventuring triumph, GOTY contender.
  9. If that's all this is, then I'm not really going to complain. That just happens to be a genre I do like that just doesn't really exist anymore. The biggest complaints I've seen in reviews are that the game feels small or limited, but I was already kind of expecting that. This was never going to be some sprawling AAA game. I'd probably be more disappointed if I paid more than $40 for it. I know there was some special edition for this game, but I doubt it was worth it other than to support the dev. I do think this is a pretty good first game from a brand new developer that wasn't founded by some industry vets. Ember Labs it's literally 10 people that just did CG work for commercials until now. First games can often be a bit janky, especially when they're shooting for something as pretty as Kena. This one night be wholy unoriginal, but still plays really well. So this review pretty much confirms that the game doesn't change much as it fits along. I enjoyed what I've played so far, so I'll keep going. At least now I know that I really should keep looking for all the collectible doodads to learn new skills and collect more Rot. Sounds like the game gets too repetitive if you aren't really building out Kena's arsenal.
  10. 1 hour in and who knows when I'll get the chance to play more with how busy my week is looking to be. A PS2 action adventure, meant in the most positive way possible is pretty damn accurate so far. Also, this game is adorable. You can sit down and kiss your little rot things. Let's see Nintendo pull that off with Pikmin.
  11. Already downloading. I'll stay up a little late for this one. No school tomorrow, so I don't have to wake up early to get my oldest ready for school. I should be able to roll out of bed and straight to my laptop. Hopefully I'll be awake enough for my 10am standup.
  12. And here in the States, we'd give them a cash payment, allow management/executives to receive their full bonuses, and send the bill to tax payers. I'm not saying we need to execute bankrupt executives, but we do have prime real estate in tropical Cuba.
  13. Random encounters in JRPGs. It only ever existed because of hardware limitations of drawing too many sprites on screen, but it's wildly outdated. Pokemon didn't even get rid of random battles until the most recent game.
  14. Doesn't the law day that the constitutionality of the law cannot be challenged as part of the defense?
  15. How traumatic memories hide in the brain, and how to retrieve them NEWS.NORTHWESTERN.EDU Special brain mechanism discovered to store stress-related, unconscious memories
  16. The last games of theirs that I played before I swore them off forever was Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy. It starts at a great point and click adventure game then falls off the rails and then features the greatest action sequence ever in gaming when you fight a prophet... ...and then the Internet...
  17. I wouldn't expect it to scream AAA. It's the first game by a new studio and is selling for $40. I'm still hyped for this game, so I hope it's good.
  18. I'm having a hard time coming up with a more confounding call by a coach.
  19. More accurate than a simple temperature check, so good enough for me. I believe they're something like 80+% accurate. That should work out fine since anyone possibly exposed is getting tested daily while most every student opted in along with and the entire faculty to being tested weekly. The school even went as far as hiring another nurse. That puts the 400 student school at 3 full time nurses.
  20. I already pre-consented my son for daily testing if he were to ever be exposed. He's also going to be getting weekly tests regardless of known exposure. I signed him up the second the forms were available. These are the dumb quick swabs that aren't ticking your brain, so he'll be fine. I more worried about him finding some cotton swab and trying to ram them up his sisters' noses.
  21. Cool. First COVID-19 case at my son's school. It took a whole two weeks. We'll see how the school's policy works going forward. Students get the choice of either staying home for the next ten days before coming back to school or agreeing to daily tests first thing in the morning for the next ten days. Sounds like everyone involved has agreed to the daily tests.
  22. If the pandemic were 10 times as deadly, we still wouldn't have seen a difference in people until after the extra millions had died.
  23. Now there's a game I haven't thought about in forever.
