I highly recommend taking your 2nd or 3rd choice retailer as your target. Bots are going to be all over this. Sucks but is the nature of a limited launch. So target the Walmarts & Targets before Amazon/BestBuy.

I dropped out during the noir season. I might jump back in for this one. I wasn't entirely sold on the dream seasons but felt they had their fun but by the noir one I didn't really care for the story anymore and wanted it to go back to being more like the early seasons.

Multi Plats will run better on X in the long run because it has more compute power. Yet with that said Dusk Golem has been called out by devs for his numerous tweets regarding RE8. Not to mention DMC5 is actually getting features at launch on PS5 that aren't coming till next year for XBX.

I'm in canada, I never was in japan (just import a lot). I did have a japanese launch vita but i'm pretty sure I didn't get a 3G (memory is a bit fuzzy on that one, plus I sold it to a coworker a few years back because I had too many vitas and needed to cut back some).

I did, I actually might have two on reservation now. Another Canadian retailer (shoppers drug mart) put up units for preorder last night though a somewhat messy setup but I was able to grab one and get a confirmation number. If this one does stick I will probably keep this one because the store has an amazing reward system. For my switch lite I was able to get $130/140 in store credit (which I can use at their chain of grocery stores). my other DE preorder is through Wal-Mart Canada.

Nobody needs proof that I like physical media (if you do, see the retro forums). Yet with that said I pre-ordered the Digital Ed ps5 for many reasons. 1) the cost was far more palatable after tax $563 vs $712. That’s more than a game for me. Sure I can afford the difference but I have other things I want to buy. Hell at $712 I probably would hold off and buy at a later date as I have tons of other things to play anyways. I don’t need a ps5 but it’s part fomo, part I always get a new system at/near launch. 2) Psn doesn’t charge tax here on digital games. So they end up cheaper at launch. 3) I actually bought very few physical PS4 games, Like less than 10. Yet I do have access to quite a few digital games. 4) PSN has had great sales on games all the time. I’m actually seeing better deals on psn than retail half the time. 5) My game/retro collection is getting too big and I’m getting low on space so not having ps5 games around saves me space for something else I can’t get digitally. Those are some of my reasons. When needing a ps5 with a drive comes, I will just sell my DE unit and buy the drive model but by then ps5 will be cheaper and probably a lot smaller too.

Yup. Best of luck to all who want one. I have no desire to buy an S/X atm but I’ll try to help with keeping tabs on stock for Canadian board members that do when they go live.

I look forward to the PS6 being as large as my TV itself. Since my unit is digital this might be the first console that goes behind the TV by default so I don't see it.

We can also stop acting like what is an exception is actually the norm when it isn't. Nobody seems to care that the Xbox 1 version of COD has no path to upgrade to the Series X version of the game unless you buy the Series X version of the game that gives you access to the XB1 version of the game. I do on a personal level think it's good business and keeps your titles selling to offer free upgrades in the first place but I don't discount that it's not cheap/free to make the update either so not every dev is going to run out and do it for free.
