If you take what he said literally, he said next year, two years which means basically the first year of the Series X, and that kind of makes sense for the first year of a new console these days. He didn't say going forward, all games will come to the Bone, he said next year or two. So it's not like 5 years from now MS is still going to be releasing games that have to come out for the Bone. Besides, what will they even have ready next year that this will affect? Halo Infinite started development as a X1 game. Maybe the next Forza game or two is cross gen. Sounds like that Everwild game from Rare will be one of the titles. The rest of their first party output for 2021 is probably smaller titles that aren't a big deal to port cross gen. Most of their new studios still aren't built up enough for big next gen releases. I don't think this will be nearly the big deal some people are making it out to be. Besides, since Sony isn't following, MS will be under a ton of pressure not to keep this up for long once Sony's first party studios start releasing next gen titles with draw dropping visuals. MS can't be releasing gimped cross gen games when Horizon 2 and the next ND game comes out.

One thing I haven't seen clarification on, the Astros got a comp pick for Gerritt Cole that would be at the end of the first round. Are they keeping that pick or does the penalty wipe out that draft pick too?

The real issue isn't even the trash can banging, the issue was that MLB issued a warning against electronically stealing signs in September of 2017, the Astros kept doing it anyway. Then, they worked with MLB on moving their replay equipment in 2018, kept stealing signs anyway, just without the trash can banging. The trash can banging is only part of the issue, the other part is they were warned to stop what they were doing, and kept doing it anyway.

You posted this earlier: Jeff Luhnow (General Manager). Luhnow adamantly denies knowledge of both the banging scheme and the efforts by the replay review room staff to decode signs and transmit them to the dugout. The investigation revealed no evidence to suggest that Luhnow was aware of the banging scheme. The investigation also revealed that Luhnow neither devised nor actively directed the efforts of the replay review room staff to decode signs in 2017 or 2018. Although Luhnow denies having any awareness that his replay review room staff was decoding and transmitting signs, there is both documentary and testimonial evidence that indicates Luhnow had some knowledge of those efforts, but he did not give it much attention. At a minimum, he was aware something was going on, and did nothing to stop it. That's bad leadership, and for that he needed to be fired.

From the actual investigation released: The efforts involving the replay review room staff were mentioned in at least two emails sent to Luhnow, and there is conflicting evidence about conversations with Luhnow on the topic. Regardless of the level of Luhnow’s actual knowledge, the Astros’ violation of rules in 2017 and 2018 is attributable, in my view, to a failure by the leaders of the baseball operations department and the Field Manager to adequately manage the employees under their supervision, to establish a culture In re Houston Astros Decision Page 5 in which adherence to the rules is ingrained in the fabric of the organization, and to stop bad behavior as soon as it occurred. Facts, bruh.

Feels like a slap on the wrist since it it looked like the Astros efforts were pervasive over multiple years. Plus they had fucking emails from FO people talking about it. Will be interesting to see what happens to Alex Cora, the story I saw had a footnote that his punishment will be harsh. Honestly if they can show he orchestrated this across two different franchises, he should be banned for life. Like literally, not just effectively through a multi year suspension.

Sounds like MS will be content to show up to E3 every year to tell you about the next 50 games they got coming to Games Pass.

Halo Infinite started development in 2016 for the 1, so I wouldn't worry too much about it running "fine" at least on S models. I actually wonder at this point what percentage of the install base at least has an S model versus the original. However, I don't really get this from MS. They are the clear third place finisher this gen. This install base they are protecting is all of 50 million. Would make more sense for Sony saying these things to assure their 100+million install base they won't be immediately left behind. MS needs to go balls out for next gen and start showing people the power of the Series X from day one. I'd abandon the 1 pretty quickly and jump straight into next gen for MS.
