  1. Seems kind of... dumb of Remedy? Wouldn't they want to show off the best version of their fairly popular new game to get people hyped for the next one they CLEARLY have planned? Are they expecting people to play the original version on Game Pass and then, what, spend full price on what is essentially unlocking visual options that should already be there? I dunno who's in charge of shit over there, but they can't seem to make a good decision to save their fucking lives. People have been talking about Control more than any other Remedy game in YEARS and they seem hellbent on squandering either the goodwill, or their own work, in order to chase an extra buck for turning on a couple graphical settings. So fucking stupid.
  2. We got any exclusives coming out any time soon? Kinda haven't touched my PS5 in a few days and will mostly be using it for Trails of Cold Steel IV for the foreseeable future. Obviously will be playing Cyberpunk on PC. Pretty excited about God of War since the first one was so dammed fun, but I guess I must not have been paying attention because I can't really think of much beyond that... Ratchet and Clank of course.
  3. Your PC eats a PS4 for breakfast, don't even bother with that version.
  4. CDPR top settings are always futureproof shit. The Witcher 2 will still drop your PC to its knees if you enable UBERSAMPLING™.
  5. Wait I get that it's a shitty solution but "take" the drugs? I don't think that's the right word for "importing." It makes it sound like they're coming in with guns to steal the drugs or something.
  6. So basically the fractured foot is just a warning shot from KILLARY to fall in line?
  7. Just a hairline fracture. Will only require a walkin' boot. Not a cool fracture like Trump would get after kickflipping over a gap and his bone spurs piercing his flesh.
  8. Would be one of the few times a Chinese dystopia social currency would make for some funny shenanigans. Identifying scalpers and then every store they go to charges them 500% markup for everything for a year.
  9. I didn't even know we relied on norms so heavily. It seems batshit insane in retrospect. But I guess they expected the person we elected President to be something approaching a respectable human. So yeah, batshit insane!
  10. On the contrary, Trump's legendary incompetence has been the only thing keeping me sane. At the same time, his legendary incompetence hasn't stopped him from rising to the Oval Office, or ramming through a Supreme Court justice, or emboldening white supremacy across the nation, and there's no point going on listing more because we've all been here the last 4 years. Although I've never been in the camp of "nothing matters" and I'm tired of the defeatist attitude because I think that becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. His incompetence continues to be the only thing keeping this from happening. It's not scary because of Trump and the irreparable damage he's done to our nation, although 4 more years of that would've been soul annihilating, it's the fact that there's nothing at all stopping someone charismatic AND competent from doing so much worse. Imagine things like how easily Russians, to go back to that old well, have completely dominated the GOP narrative. They run all their conspiracy websites, all their memes, etc. They've also began absolutely dominating YouTube style content with things like 5-minute crafts (and their 900 other channels that get millions of subs in a few months) and most of the crafts are total BS that don't actually work to boot. Just nonsense filler videos that have rocketed them to the top of YouTube/Facebook monetization, etc, putting them far above the likes of PewDiePie. Except whoops, they ran just a few pro-Russia, anti-US ads! How is it related? It might not be, but if it's that easy to dominate an entire American political party AND dominate video platforms that are seen by hundreds of millions of Americans, why not just skip someone who might be influenced by Russia like Trump and just propping up their own candidate to run for office? I'll be starting my own competing show to Alex Jones this Summer.
  11. No it's more like the co-pilot yelling "I'M GONNA CRASH IT! I'LL DO IT!" the entire flight while the rest of the plane cheers him on, and in the end the only thing that stops him is the real pilot who bonks him on the head, to the outrage of everyone.
  12. Do they think people won't steal signs that say Fugging?!
  13. Remember when literally everyone else appointed by or affiliated with Trump did exactly that? The judges were the only ones to not actually fall in line. This time. Who knows if there was more at stake or if it was closer.
  14. Oh man, they're gonna experience martial law at least once a month. Get the chocolate tithes ready!
  15. This is a pretty chunky update, guess it makes sense why it took them so long. PC patch notes: (I've underlined anything that I personally think is either personally interesting in a positive way or that I think will make a fairly significant impact on gameplay. All other markup is Ubisoft's.) Summary of stuff I think is very good: Performance improvements, especially that VRAM/RAM leak when alt-tabbing. I knew my performance was getting worse after a bunch of alt-tabs, which I do to switch Youtube videos that I watch in the background! AC is the perfect "watch stuff in the background" series for me. Just chillin' and watching all kinds of weird science videos! NPC AI improvements! YES! One of the biggest issues in the game is that the AI is super dumb. It sounds like they'll be a lot less dumb now, but probably still pretty dumb. Allies no longer not showing up when I need their help during raids! This one was SUPER annoying. It wasn't game-breaking, but it was seriously flow-breaking as you had to work around the jank to get them to help. HDR might be fixed! It applying your normal brightness settings during HDR might be why it looked so washed out and weird, which was the main issue with HDR! Horse won't be slowed during combat! Yay! Bow should no longer weirdly auto-lock-on to the midsection of enemies, making it really hard to get quick headshots! Saves are safe again! Woo! You can set a node you want (If I read this correctly) and it'll auto-select nodes on the way to it now, so you don't have to go back in the menu every time you level up! Either way I recommend you read them all yourself. Everything here is good, and many are quite significant improvements; these are just my favorites.
  16. Eh, $40 is still too much for me. I'm swamped with open-world games as-is, they'd need to at least drop it to $30, which they probably will by the time my backlog is cleared up enough to try it out.
  17. I have missed threads like this. I also miss the 3DS getting games, because it was actually portable and didn't require me to wear cargo pants to fit it in a pocket. Always thought it would be kind of neat if From tried making a portable Souls game. Like, not just a port of one of their existing titles, but something designed specifically for portable machines. What would a handheld version of Dark Souls look like? What would be streamlined or simplified, what would be expanded on? Would they make compromises for convenience, or would they make it unrelentingly difficult? The always-saving nature of the Souls games lends itself well to handheld games, you could practically just turn the game off at any point and pick it up immediately, even outside of sleep mode.
  18. Why would they try to get something extremely useful for grifting from the terminally grifted? I can't possibly imagine a reason!
  19. The storage issue is going to get exponentially worse. I can foresee a time when 3+ huge AAA titles release within a month of each other and we might realistically not have enough space for all 3. For three games. Obviously, those games would be enormous, but games ain't been getting any smaller.
