  1. I don't listen to a lot of straight Metal, Hardcore, or Punk, but I listen to a lot of the sub-genres that came out of those scenes. Emo, pop punk, post punk, new wave, post hardcore.
  2. I have a Hisense from a year and a half ago. It's great. Basically the equivalent of a mid to high end range of a Samsung, but half the price. OLED was off the table because my main room is way too bright, and the TV would be practically useless during the day. It does 4k/120hz. Minimal input lag. Every HDR standard. I imagine I'll keep this one for a few years.
  3. The first one on N64, Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon, was like a mix between a 3D platformer and OOT (though it came out a whole year before this). It's a great game with a lot of charm, though the translation is terrible and a lot of it makes no sense, but it's still funny. The emulation is notoriously tricky for this game, and considering the issues Nintendo has had with their 1st party titles, not sure how well this game would fare. The sequel, Goemon's Great Adventure, is a 2.5D sidescroller closer to the SNES games. Another great game that is really well polished.
  4. Love the Goemon games. Would love to see Konami do anything with this franchise, even if it's just a collection. Most of the games never left Japan, and some of those PS1 games are even hard to find ROMs of. Doubt they would bother translating them though. I'm really surprised the DS game never came over here considering the install base for quirky titles. This game looks cool though.
  5. It's even funnier that there's a freakin' new Mario game. Like how wrong can you possibly be?
  6. I really love all of the little flourishes to everything you do. The text, the sound effects, visual cues, animation touches... it's all a very slick and a creative take on Mario. Love the direction they're taking this, and not just playing it safe with the "New" series. I think they realize they can't just make straight platforming 2D Mario games anymore, since Mario Maker more or less makes them irrelevant, so they're really playing with lots of twists and unique spins and items. Looks awesome.
  7. So excited for this and honestly never thought this would happen. I always got the impression Nintendo wanted to distance the Mario IP from this game because of how different it is. Love the arranged music, and the FMV cutscenes are a great throwback to that era.
  8. Mitsuda is only a guest composer doing a handful of tracks. Still, the game has a lot of potential.
  9. I haven't played a single Souls-like, not even the good ones like Nioh. Most of them just seem like they're missing a crucial element in one way or another that the From games have. I watched some streamers play this one, and the gameplay looks pretty good, but the world just felt uninspired. It just seems too ambitious for their budget and it feels lifeless. I should just give the demo a try though. If they can nail the gameplay, it could be at least fun to play.
  10. I've played about 20 hours of Fallout 3 and 20 hours of Skyrim, and that's it for Bethesda RPGs. I like the idea of them, but just get bored with the execution. And honestly, those games would be better off without any combat. I think I'd rather just explore and do menial tasks rather than deal with a half-assed combat system. Starfield looks different though, so I'm cautiously optimistic.
  11. If it's a visual only remake that takes the same artsyle and puts it in the HD 2D diaroma-style, that could be fine, but I just can't see what else they could do to "remake" the game. It's literally the perfect game. I can't think of anything to change. Even the music is perfect as it is.
  12. Probably RE1. The others I don't care enough about or don't feel like they need a remake (like RE5).
  13. What do you think being anti-woke means? From their bullet points: How many dog whistles do you need? These are crotchety white men upset with the changing landscape in America. And it's not just the diversity, it's the push for equality and equity that really gets their blood boiling.
  14. I suspect there’s more to this than polish. I would guess this was targeting the Switch Pro, and when Nintendo scrapped that for the OLED, they moved release dates around to better extend the life of Switch. That original trailer looks noticeably better than the final product, which basically just looks like BotW graphically.
  15. Leftists don't approve of? This just seems like a miserable group of white men more concerned about bigotry and trending culture wars than the fantasy/sci-fi con they're running. Ah yes, women having bodily autonomy is just another overreaction by the left.
  16. Still OOT. But I need to replay some of the 3D Zelda's again. I've played both Skyward Sword and Wind Waker recently enough to know they're not my favorite, but I need to revisit Twilight Princess and Majora's Mask. Majora's Mask is likely the only candidate that could trump OOT for me. The 2D games are good, but not my favorite.
  17. Don’t really want to see remakes. I enjoy the BotW style games, but I prefer OoT Zelda. Honestly, I’m fine with the open world, I’m just not a huge fan of the focus on basically crafting your own experience. I want unique dungeons, unique items, and don’t want to have to puzzle solve every minor thing I come across. Like I just want to swim across a lake, don’t make me build some contraption for a simple task. Also, Elden Ring ruined horse riding in every game to the point I’m resentful to games that don’t control like that.
  18. Hoping this one immediately grabs me more than BotW did. Got BotW day one, but dropped it pretty early and didn't finish until like 2 years ago. Kind of ironic considering I'm a huge Nintendo/Zelda fan. Well, hopefully Amazon delivers it early tomorrow. And it's funny, I just built a new PC, but I haven't even considered emulating Switch games.
  19. I feel like they could have added some more old games. I miss the days of ridiculous Humble Bundles. Good luck all. I already have every game I'm interested on here.
  20. My thoughts exactly. Hollow Knight already went far beyond a reasonable length for a Metroidvania. I just hope they can make traversal, combat, and item discovery actually exciting. Still, I'll be there day 1.
  21. Console wars aren't as prevalent anymore because there's unlimited options to play games and on almost any budget, AND the industry grew up because the primary audience isn't exclusively kids and teens anymore.
  22. Pretty cool. I've definitely seen a lot of emulation handhelds. Seems like I come across a new one every week. I have the GPi Case from Retroflag. It looks and feels close enough to a Gameboy which is really what matters to me. Sure, I could get a cheap "Switch" style handheld for emulation, but I'm more interested in at least a semi-authentic experience. I only play GB/GBC/GBA and GameGear games on it though.
  23. I'm excited for the Old Republic and the Rey stuff, but I'm kind of over stories told between events in the movies. I really hope they move on from this after Ahsoka and the Filoni movie.
