  1. I'm on PC. Not sure about consoles. I booted it up for a few minutes and I didn't notice any difference though.
  2. I think I'll consider the Deck depending on how Nintendo handles the Switch 2. Right now, my PC is pretty much exclusively for AAA, and the Switch is for Nintendo, indies, and smaller titles. However, if the Switch 2 doesn't have backward compatibility, I'd seriously consider getting a Deck for anything non-Nintendo and never having to worry about backwards compatibility for the foreseeable future.
  3. Can you ask for a refund and then purchase the Deluxe edition? They're separate SKUs on Steam, and there's no $10 upgrade path from the standard edition.
  4. Actually the only comment I found strange was about the Gamecube. I really don't see a big difference between their Switch output and what they were doing on the Cube. Honestly, I'd say this is Nintendo at its best since the 90s.
  5. @Spork3245 @stepee Alright, had a chance to tinker last night. Drivers were all updated, no issues there. However, what I didn't know was that you need to use gsync with frame gen, at least I assume so. I've never used gsync on my TV before, so I didn't have anything turned on. Turned it on in Nvidia control panel and on my TV, and tearing/stuttering went away. Game is definitely poorly optimized on PC, but at least I can brute force decent performance with DLSS3. Thanks guys!
  6. I wonder how long they've been sitting on this one? Surely the rest are complete as well and just waiting for a lull to release. Prime is one of my favorite games, but being able to play on Dolphin with either GCN or Wii controls is probably good enough for me. I dunno, I'll have to read some impressions on how well the game plays and how the graphics compare overall. Definitely not paying $40. I can wait for a sale.
  7. lol, I did try this but it was really stuttery. Is there a reason they would disable the in-game vsync option? Edit: It's really smooth when I turn off frame generation and turn on vsync, it's smooth with frame generation on and vsync off (but of course the tearing), but it's choppy with frame generation on and vsync forced on.
  8. So I played a bit of this last night on PC, and it runs decent. One thing though, I turned on Frame Generation and got a bunch of screen tearing because I guess it disables vsync. Anyway around this? Also, if you use a Switch Pro controller, the game does have native support which is really cool, but the face buttons when casting spells are reversed. You can fix it in the Steam controller settings, but then all other face button prompts in the game will be reversed. Appears to be a bug. Cool game so far though.
  9. Nice! Looks really good. I did a replay of this for the first time in years pretty recently, and it holds up pretty well if you like 90s style shooters. The level design is crazy and often feels like you've managed to get yourself on some geometry you're not supposed to, but is in fact the intended path.
  10. Yeah I know, but I have no idea if any of that stuff is worth it or not. Like can you get them in the game or is it only paid content or even only pre-order content?
  11. So is the deluxe edition worth the extra $10 outside of the early release date? I might be able to put a few hours in before the 10th, but I'm really not going to be able to put too much time in until the official release date.
  12. I mean blood is a pretty strong reoccurring theme in the Harry Potter universe. You really think the developer and by extension Warner would risk everything to insert a plotline that is intentionally anti-Semitic, especially at a time when the HP franchise is so fragile? Surely it's just ignorance and using old fantasy tropes. Honestly, I think with how difficult it is to navigate the world of HP now, the developer is likely in over their head and is in no way equipped to thread that needle around JK's bigotry.
  13. Yeah I really just didn't like the combat or skill tree in TW3, and there was a lot of tedious questing I didn't care for either. Honestly if TW3 played liked BotW, I probably would have played through the whole game, but movement just feels clunky. And I played through TW1 and 2 to completion and enjoyed both of them.
  14. Now that I've got a 4070ti, maybe I should give this game a shot. I honestly didn't love The Witcher 3, but Cyberpunk seems a bit my speed.
  15. I know people think it would be funny to have some kind of in-universe explanation for the voice change, or even have rotating voices each episode, but that honestly all sounds really lame and kind of played out with how meta the show gets sometimes. I'm already kind of over when they make a meta joke about the episode. Just get a VA that can do a decent impression and continue like nothing ever happened.
  16. I gotta say, I'm definitely not a fan of roguelikes, but Returnal has me really intrigued. I think hearing that it's kind of like a 3D shmup (which I guess would be like Sin and Punishment except not on rails?) has me really excited to play this in a few weeks.
  17. Yeah Shadow of the Beast is cool, but it's really hard! Populous I did grow up with on the SNES and love it. Though it would be cool to play it with the Amiga mouse. I'll look into the rest. Psygnosis is definitely a top tier Amiga dev. I've definitely heard of a few of these, I'll add them all to my list. And I've already got 'King of Chicago' and 'It Came From the Desert' from Cinemaware on my list. Those kinds of games are right up my alley.
  18. Got my 4070ti and it runs like a dream. Thanks for all the BB tips @Spork3245 . With promotions and my mom's credit card, I managed to get it for $85 off. Not bad to get a brand new card for around $700. Should have been $600 but what can you do.
  19. Just curious if anyone got this and your thoughts, or even just have experience with the Amiga. I got this last summer and it's really cool. Picked up a joystick too for a more authentic experience. It's amazing there's a whole world of 8/16 bit games that barely existed for anyone in the US. Now I haven't actually sat down and seriously engaged with the games, I've mostly just been going through the library and trying stuff out (you can add more games than the stock through various methods). But the one thing I will say is, the music is almost consistently amazing. I know we're all used to Japanese style chiptunes since that's what we grew up with, but think about a whole industry of games with music similar in style to Tim Follin's work on the NES and SNES. Gameplay-wise, nothing has really stood out as amazing or feeling as good as the Japanese contemporaries, but graphically there's some really cool stuff that they were doing. Considering there were so many games released for the system with 90% I've never heard of, I'm trying to make a list of the more notable ones to really delve into. So any suggestions would be great.
  20. Technically, sure, but the game's design is still really solid. The levels are generally pretty open and allow for multiple ways to tackle them, and the mission objective structure is pretty novel and encourages exploration. And you get new objectives with each increasing level of difficulty. I'd say for a good decade or more after the 90s, FPS's were generally pretty dumbed down in favor of elaborate set pieces and funneling you through linear levels.
  21. Yeah they're pretty nuts over there and abandon all reason when the discussion is about any kind of marginalized group. Though of course they're not going to ban discussion on Netflix even though they continue to support Chappelle. Harry Potter is just an easier target than all of Netflix. Funny enough, I just got a month ban because I thought it was silly that one of the reasons Games Done Quick moved to online rather than the venue in Florida, is because of the safety for their LGBTQ community. Florida is a shithole, but they're not rounding up LGBTQ people and executing them. Anyway, Harry Potter is bigger than Rowling, and there's no reason the fandom can't take it back from her. She's going to make money one way or another, either from royalties or if WB buys her out. She's set for life and will probably use her wealth to continue to spread hate, regardless if you support Harry Potter or not. Now if she writes more books or more screenplays, a boycott completely makes sense.
  22. Couldn't tell you much about the computers specs we had, other than we had a Windows 3.1 machine and then got a new PC with Windows 95. Earliest games I remember were Commander Keen, Mario's Missing, Miracle Piano (with an actual Piano too), King's Quest V, Space Quest IV, Alone in the Dark, and all of those Learning Company games. (And of course Carmen Sandiego and Oregon Trail at school.) Edit: Can't forget about Jones in the Fastlane. We still regularly play this game. It holds up and the FMV acting is hilarious!
  23. Honestly, I could never recommend a movie to someone that isn't going to pay close attention. I don't even let people watch movies with me if they're going to be on their phone.
