SaysWho? Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Quote For PlayStation Plus members, we’ll have a special new offering on PS5 – the PlayStation Plus Collection**. PS5 owners with PS Plus will be able to download and play a curated library of PS4 games that defined the generation, like Batman Arkham Knight, Bloodborne, Fallout 4, God of War, Monster Hunter: World, Persona 5 and many more. The PS Plus Collection will be an added benefit to the existing PS4 benefits that PS Plus members receive for a single subscription price. PlayStation 5 Launches in November, starting at $399 for PS5 Digital Edition and $499 for PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-Ray Disc Drive BLOG.PLAYSTATION.COM New games announced at PS5 Showcase, including Final Fantasy XVI, Hogwarts Legacy, and a new God of War title Quote
chakoo Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 A collection of games that defined the PS4 generation and yet not a single Yakuza game. It is at least a nice starting collection for someone who might have not had a ps4 or many off those games. Quote
Paperclyp Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Certainly inspires confidence that there won't be weird shenanigans with PS5 backward compatibility! Quote
JPDunks4 Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 So they are showing some BC stuff here if all those games will work. Will the games run better on the PS5? Take advantage of the hardware? Quote
Dodger Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 I have nearly all of those already. Just give some sort of boost mode or whatever on Bloodborne. Quote

It will probably be the same like running games on the PS4 Pro, if the games support it you get access to that if not you can turn on the global system setting for a boost. Quote
jaethos Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 I already have almost all of those in my PS+ library already, but it's cool for anyone getting PS+ for the first time. Quote
TheLeon Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 Like I said in the big thread, this is great for people who might have skipped Playstation for a generation or two. Quote

On May 9 the PlayStation Plus Collection will no longer be offered. Spawn_of_Apathy Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 Are they doing something better or just showing they have no further interest in even appearing like they’re completing with Game Pass? Quote

The PS Plus Collection was competing with Xbox Live Gold, if you go by the pricing. Now that they’ve created premium subscription(s) tiers, Sony’s deciding that they need the base tier to be lumpy coal again. It’s a sad thing when Nintendo online + expansion pack might actually be the best value for that $50-60 annual price range, content-wise. Quote
SaysWho? Posted February 3, 2023 Author Posted February 3, 2023 The ps plus collection is not a game pass competitor. Ps plus itself is. Quote
