Just get rid of the National and American League. Rework the the leagues into almost an NFL like structure.

Northeast, Southeast, North Central, Southern Central, Northwest, and Southwest division. Have the big dollar clubs really duke it out for the playoff spots.

The scheduling the last 8 years has effectively been exactly how the NFL operates :p

(the NFL has two conferences)

It sure is weird seeing Aaron Judge trying to become the 4th guy to ever hit 62 home runs in a season, with one guy doing it twice another guy doing it three times and realizing the 3 guys ahead of him on the list are not in the fucking hall of fame. He literally needs to this 3 more times just not to be tied with mother fuckers hitting 60+ home runs in a season.

The Mets sent deGrom, Scherzer, and Bassitt out to face the Braves with the division and a WC bye on the line and the Braves owned all three. Dodgers don’t get a cake walk to the WS, by any means. Likely Mets DS matchup followed by the Braves. NL side of the bracket should be awesome to watch

This seems about right. I think Dodgers number would literally double were they in the AL instead of the NL. Likely having to beat the Mets in the DS, Braves in the CS, and Astros in WS is honestly quite the gauntlet to run.

Austin Nola was perfect gaming the Astros through 6.2ip and Dusty was (rightly) pulling starters with nothing left to play for. Nola just had to get past Yordan and he would have had only the Astros B team left to finish it out.

Yordan punched one into the outfield.

Bummer for Nola who was incredible all game.

Make it an Axe Throwing Event. Make a huge ass board with the 3 teams logo equally pie shape split for the toss. Who throws is up to the team, only get one toss, must have selected in an envelope the team logo of WHO they wanted to face and will be revealed after the toss. Quick talk afterwards about why they wanted/didn’t want to face that team. Have all 3 teams ready on a response via satellite on what they expect for their series and surprises in who they thought they were going to face.

Exactly this. Without Judge going absolute nutso, we would be talking about the Yankees choking away the division at the very least and maybe a playoff spot altogether. That is value, even though Ohtani is the best player in baseball due to his elite pitching and hitting in one roster spot.

Jeremy Peña is very good at baseball. He struggled in the middle part of the year when teams began throwing him literally nothing but sliders. In August he began toying with his leg kick, making it less exaggerated to keep his vision more level thru the swing. It has turned things around for him at the absolute right time. Excited for his first playoff run to begin!
