Been listening to Giant Bomb's GOTY stuff and they bring up Jusant a number of times and mention that they didn't like it as much because they were frustrated by the climbing. I find it kind of baffling because I really had no problem finding any handholds in the game.

Also, they mention "spoilers" before minor parts of a bunch of different games but literally spoil the ending of Jusant without saying it is a spoiler.

Before we crown IGN’s Best Game of 2023, let’s first acknowledge what an amazing year it has been for game releases. There were great games almost every month, and every nominee — from Cocoon to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 — is certainly someone’s personal game of the year. But ultimately this year was defined by a presumed front-runner, and the surprising challengers for the throne.

Runners-Up:

Resident Evil 4 Remake

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty

Alan Wake II

Listening to the Giant Bomb GOTY Bonus episode about game music.

Imagine giving the nod to TOTK's bedtime music and CUTTING a Mitsuda composed soundtrack? Jesus 🤦‍♀️

Best soundtrack I've heard is Baldur's Gate 3. FF16 did have some good music, too.

30 lists, 105 games, and here we are at TheGamer's Game of the Year. In a year like no other, can TheGamer's patented mathematical list making ways, which saw The Forgotten City and Citizen Sleeper claim the crown in the last two years, spring a surprise? While it has been impossible to ignore the might of the triple-A behemoths this year, our list has a few quirks that might just keep you on your toes.

PC Gamer's Game of the Year Awards have started.

Today's Award - Best Ongoing Game

After last year's rocky launch, Fatshark's co-op FPS had a great 2023.

PC Gamer's Best Ongoing Game award celebrates an older game that stood out in 2022 through updates, new content or support. This year, we're honouring Fatshark's co-op FPS Darktide, which overcame last year's rough launch through continued updates. This year, it became the game it always promised to be.

No argument from me whatsoever with these awards from VGC:

In what’s likely to be one of its final years, Nintendo pulled out all the stops with a stellar line…

When March 3, 2024 rolls around, the Nintendo Switch will turn seven years old.

Not since the jump from the Famicom to the Super Famicom has Nintendo committed to a single home console for seven whole years, and yet the Switch’s continued steady sales suggest it may be in no rush to reveal its successor.

This is often the point in a console’s life where the quality of its software starts to slowly wind down, as publishers and developers put their brightest minds to work on the next generation. Despite this, while we’re all undoubtedly itching to see the next Nintendo system, there can also be little doubt that even in its sixth year, the Switch has had one of the strongest years ever for a console line-up.

With two Game of the Year candidates and a long-awaited sequel, Nintendo’s main division had a tremendous…

It goes without saying that if a developer manages to release a Game of the Year contender, that year has to go down as a success.

Consider, then, that Nintendo EPD has not only released two viable candidates for the title of this year’s best game, but also given us the best entry in a series that’s been dormant for a decade. With 12 months like that under its belt, it’s little wonder that Nintendo EPD is VGC’s developer of the year.
