Slug spends another week in the comfy chair, being one of only 2 players to bet the Feature Game correctly! With heavy losses on the Feature Game followed with several players actually hitting on question 8 in the same week, the rankings have shuffled quite a bit and everyone is still in it here at the halfway mark of the regular season!

 

########## WEEK 8 RESULTS ##########

 

Week 8 Feature Game: Cincinatti Bengals @ Cleveland Browns (+3.5)
The Browns upset the Bengals in a rout on Monday Night, winning by a score of 35.5(32+3.5)-13.  Bets on Cleveland win.  Only Brian and Slug saw this coming.

 

QUESTIONS
1) What will be the first scoring play of the Feature Game? Bengals TD, Bengals FG, Bengals safety, Browns TD, Browns FG, Browns safety, or other? ($600 for the correct call)
After a scoreless 1st quarter, Nick Chubb takes a direct snap in the 2nd to plow forward from 3 yards out for the first score of this one.  Browns TD is the call.

 

2) Which team in the Feature Game will have more total first downs in the game? ($400 for the correct team)
The Browns moved the chains 24 times to the Bengals' 15. Bets on Cleveland get it.

 

3) Which team in the Feature Game will win the time of possession battle? ($400 for the correct team)
Cleveland hung onto the ball for almost an entire quarter longer than Cincy, winning the time of possession batle 36:45-23:15.

 

4) Name the QB that will be sacked the most in Week 8. ($800 for a correct name)
Mack Jones and Kenny Pickett tied, getting 6 six times each.

 

5) Call the winners:
San Francisco 49'ers at Los Angeles Rams
Las Vegas Raiders at New Orleans Saints
Baltimore Ravens at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
($400 for EACH correct named game winner, $700 bonus if you call all 3 correctly)
While several players got 2 right, only BasemntDweller2 called all three games correctly to earn the bonus!

 

6) Players travel a lot farther than the final stat line indicates on any given play (lateral movement, end-arounds, cutbacks, etc.). Name the player that will cover the greatest distance on a single play in Week 8. ($1,000 for the correct answer, $500 if your named player is 2nd or 3rd for the week)
C.J. Henderson wins this one, traveling a ridiculous 105.6 yards total on a credited 54 yard interception return.  Tony Pollard and Devin McCourty get second and third place, respectively.  Nobody called any of these players.

 

7) Name any team that will have a single digit score at the end of their game. Teams on a Bye don't count. ($700 for the right name)
The Raiders were the only team that didn't manage to hit double digits, putting up a goose egg in New Orleans. Nobody got this one.

 

8) Name the player who will rush for the most yards AND the player that will have the most receiving yards in week eight. ($1,800 for each player named correctly, $3,600 bonus if both names are called)
Derrick Henry gets back on the Question 8 horse, beating all rushers with a massive 219 yards on the ground. Tyreek Hill grabs 188 in the air to lead all receivers. BasemntDweller2 called Henry and three players (AbsolutSurgen, Keyser_Soze and silentbob) called Hill.  Nobody called both to earn the bonus.

Haha, hey now.  I've had it up on Wednesday every day I've been leading until today.  It's only gone to Thursday...once?  Twice maybe?  All season.
