This is apparently the Russian troops in Gostomele before they were massacred, Ukraine probably has these camera set ups everywhere.

It's Ukrainians sure are making a valiant effort to denazify their country.

On Monday, near Kyiv, chief correspondent Stuart Ramsay and his team were attacked. Camera operator Richie Mockler took two rounds to his body armour, Stuart was wounded. Their experience illustrates the scale of the mayhem and violence as Russia's invasion enters a new and deadlier phase.

Probably just to beef up some NATO air patrols.

I wonder if the first biggest air force in the world is jealous that the second biggest air force in the world gets to play with its toys.

So one of the million dollar questions at the end of this is going to be where the fissile material in Russia's nuclear warheads got spirited off to, right?

Hell at this point I’m not convinced enough work to kill us all (but enough to kill enough of us for it not to matter)

So…

Have people been lying to Putin about the shape of the military for years and this is a surprise or was this a known problem and he just doesn’t care because he feels it will be won through attrition?

Yes.

And I think his generals thought if they displayed enough force and giant tank columns the Ukrainians would give up.

Authoritarians have a way of killing people that give them bad news, or at least not promoting them to their inner circle.

So the objectives have changed? Putin is no longer looking to de-Nazify Ukraine and now wants them to recognize disputed territories as Russian?

No, just didn't fit in the tweet i guess, lol.

Putin reiterated demands that Ukraine recognize the sovereignty of areas controlled by Moscow-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine and acknowledge that Crimea, which Russia invaded and annexed in 2014, is Russian territory, the Interfax news agency said. The Kremlin continued to call for the “denazification” and “demilitarization” of Ukraine as requirements for Russia to cease its attacks.

Interesting article on the potential impacts of the freezing of Russia's central bank currency reserves.  That act could accelerate the shift away from the US dollar as the world's reserve currency.

It would have been nice to have the financial leverage we have now for China, a much more serious rival. But China will be taking notes and adapting.
