  1. More Mario, more *sigh* Goldeneye, and that’s been it. Edit: I played some more God of War Ragnarok this morning. It’s a good game - like a lot of things I own - but since starting it a few weeks ago I’ve managed to play about 4 hours. Finding the time to actually get through a console game is just a bit tricky.
  2. As a teacher of 8-9 year olds in a system that, despite its massive flaws, is working well in a global sense - is interesting.
  3. Once we get bbm jobs, then we’re talking
  4. As it stands right now, something on the Switch. By the time I’m home, sorted things out, had dinner and sat down…I may be all tuckered out and may just watch telly.
  5. The plan is GoW:R whilst my wife does bed time then switch over to Mario Wonder or N64. I just very much feel in a gaming mood at the moment.
  6. All the games in the world…more goldeneye. I’m up to Statue now which I remember as being almost as shit as Surface 2.
  7. We’ll preorder for an in-store collection and I’ve said my wife can have a go first. It does look great though can a Karen reference and twerking carry into 2025 successfully?
  8. We’ve got a four bedroom house, but don’t want TVs in our bedroom and our attic room/bedroom is too cold/hot - so one TV it is.
  9. Doom is brilliant to dip into and out of. If I had a handheld PC, the Yakuza series would be my pick.
  10. That might be a next year purchase if I can save up (a new TV for the first time…ever).
  11. I’m liking the Switch Expansion more than I thought I would. Started Oracle of Ages (as part of a disguised attempt to play through the Zelda games I haven’t managed yet - so this, Minoan Cap, Link to the Past - the latter being games I got 3/4 of the way through and, for whatever reason, stopped). Edit: it’s way too much money, but I’m really enjoying gaming at the moment (clearly must be a shift in the weather) to the point I’m really thinking about buying a PlayStation Portal so I can play something whilst my daughter watches cartoons. I think with one my wife and I would easily see off a game every few weeks each.
  12. Today has been maybe 45-69 minutes of God of War Ragnarok, dying over and over on the same level in Super Mario Bros Wonder (the rising pink stuff), then on the Switch N64 expansion, I played through the first three levels of Goldeneye and then completed Pokemon Puzzle League on easy.
  13. Based on the game I found the best, Metroid Prime Remastered was incredible. I’ve owned but never beaten the game on GameCube and just really enjoyed my time with the game. TofK was fantastic, Super Mario Wonder has been great and we haven’t picked up BG3, Spiderman 2 or AW2 yet.
  14. Put with my family on Sunday for a pub lunch which was lovely. Also, slightly more belatedly, some friends will hopefully be coming over on Friday to play some board games.
  15. I might make this year I get back to my 2016 levels of insane health and fitness. Once this cough goes… 🎂
  16. The Vesti fit pretty well in that time of my life post-child, but before I went out on weekends. Along with MSN Messenger, very era defining.
  17. This thread reminds me the second remake is coming next year and that’s not a bad thing at all.
  18. This has been an argument in the UK with the Troy government mimicking this policy. Yes, your body, your choice…but the effects of smoking then use up resource in the NHS…which makes it slightly more conflicted. Though I suppose it’s the same as illness due to alcohol.
  19. Apart from the deal that is Game Pass, what’s the actual draw of owning an Xbox now? If you think of the benefits in the 360 era: Best console online experience Neat online shop Best controller Cheaper console Exclusives (Halo, Gears, Forza, Fable etc) Better performing 3rd party releases Do they have any of that now? I mean, what game would you pick up an Xbox Series X over Spiderman, God of War etc? Maybe they’ll look at a handheld console next time, push Gamepass onto other systems and focus on publishing and acquiring more developers.
  20. The Dragon Keeper by Robin Hobb as my actual reading book and morbidly, Matthew Perry’s autobiography on Spotify.
