  1. I could benefit from this peer pressure in my life.
  2. About 8 hours, though if it’s ever that long, we go on a massive morning, and being 12, means she basically then snoozes for the rest of the day.
  3. Came back to the Isle of Man for a stag party, so I spent last night seeing all my school friends which was ace. Now at my parents and my wife is baking cup cakes with my daughter and niece, I’ve done a few jobs on our farm and feel horribly hungover - but very, very content. Edit: At home found a video of my parents 25th wedding anniversary. Always nice to hear my grandads voice nearly 20 years since he died.
  4. I’m complete opposite and have found the controls fine (better than the Wii). The only thing that took some time was getting used to throwing and rolling.
  5. We’re learning about Jewish festivals at school and just planning a few lessons on Exodus and Passover and it would be nice to include some real life impressions - what you do, what you eat, where you celebrate - that would be magic.

In the days of my youth when all I did was go to school, go out and get drunk and go to the gym, I used to enjoy a timed window of about 2 hours as a ‘cheat window’. On reflection, it’s just controlled binge eating, but it made the days of boring good and shakes tolerable.

Solid advice. The amount of good you can do yourself by eating well, drinking lots and taking care of your physical and mental health is silly.
  8. Tiring. It was attempting to fix electrical goods over the phone and then failing that, advise the repair pathway. 8 hours a day of that was enough for me!
  9. Now there are some games to lock yourself away for a week and just live vicariously through.
  10. I remember when I used to work on a customer facing phone line - it was shattering. I was lucky that I was picked up to move to a different role temporarily and then permanently after about 6 months of me so, helping new starters within the company get to grips with everything, give them coaching and mainly ensure they didn’t quit in less than 90 days.
  11. To bump my own thread, one week of work then it’s our Easter holidays, another perk of teaching. Downside is I have about 3 hours of work that needs getting ready for tomorrow and I need to take my daughter out for the day and then help clean as we’re having photos of our house taken by an estate agent on Monday. Late one tonight it is then.
  12. It’s a British programme, so either you’d need to watch it on iPlayer pr maybe BritBox? Either way, it saddens me that The Great British Bake Off made it to the US, when this is infinitely better.
  13. The Great British Menu - about 15 years on, still the best cooking programme on television.
  14. You did an amazing thing and have every right to feel as sad as you want, for as long as you want.
  15. Mine comes through the letter box so there’s literally no way of ignoring it.
  16. Did the Eldin Volcano silent realm first time. I’m still enjoying Skyward Sword and I’m definitely glad I’ve come back to it again.
  17. I didn’t feel that was trying to one-up a story, just something else vaguely illegal. If another member had told that story we’d just be talking about it as another anecdote…
  18. To add to the woe - I’ve completely lost my sense of taste and smell. Great for changing my daughter this morning, but ruins a lot of things I enjoy (like tasting and smelling things…)
  19. You were lucky? Had a less severe strain? Aren’t clinically vulnerable? Have a good immune system? I’m not an immunologist so I couldn’t really tell you I’m afraid.
  20. I tested positive for Covid with a PCR (and an LFT every day to see when I can get back to work), but it feels like having a cold, at least for (vaccinated, non-vulnerable) me.
  21. Instead of being really sick I had cold-like symptoms for 2 days. Compare that too: hacking cough, fever, headache, loss of taste and smell…I’m glad I’ve had my 2 vaccines and one booster,
