Movies Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga - Official Trailer #2
ort replied to Firewithin's topic in The Performing Arts Centre
All 4 Mad Max movies kinda feel like they take place in completely different versions of the apocalypse. I was never as in love with Fury Road as most. I really liked a lot of things about it... but it didn't feel like a Mad Max movie. I loved the action sequences and overall aesthetic and pace... but found the plot and pretty much everything else to be severly lacking. This trailer really doesn't do much of anything for me. Feels like it's leaning harder into the aspects of Fury Road I didn't enjoy. Looks too over the top and goofy. The portrayal of the apocalyptic world doesn't really make much sense in any of the films. but it made even less sense in Fury Road. It felt like a cartoon. My favorite in the series is still Road Warrior. -
MSNBC dumps Mehdi Hassan in favor of Michael Steele

People online are claiming it's because he was pretty pro-palastine and wasn't toeing the company line like he should... I don't know if that's true or not. -
Television Took advantage of the black friday hulu deal
ort replied to EternallDarkness's topic in The Performing Arts Centre
I wish there was a way to get the cheap version of these services with ads, but then pay some nominal fee to watch something without ads. Like, give me ads most of the time, but give me the option to pay an extra 50 cents to watch a movie with no ads. -
Nikki Haley planning Feb. 15 launch for 2024 White House bid
ort replied to Jason's topic in The Political Re-Education Camp
Regardless of how much they like to pretend it won't happen, there is a big chance Trump's legal troubles will get much worse. People are barely even paying attention at this point, once the campaign goes into the final stretch, I think all of the legal hit pieces will start coming hard and heavy and it's hard to see him winning over a bunch of new people. I still think he will be the candidate, but being the backup choice probably isn't a bad position to be in. Also, I really do honestly think that if it was Nikki Haley vs. Joe Biden, and the election was tomorrow... Joe Biden would lose. I honestly can't see Trump ever winning again. All of the people bank rolling the Republican Party aren't dumb and surely at some point that reality is going to sink in. -

My biggest pet peeve is when streaming services have commercials, but they don't line up with the actual commercial breaks in the show. Which is you know, ALL OF THEM, if I'm not mistaken... -

Thanks for the heads up, I signed up for this. Not that much on Hulu, but I'll get $12 of value from Fargo Season 5 alone and I will also check out The Bear. -
Television Fargo Season 5 Incoming...

Season 4 is still great. Even a "bad" season of Fargo is better than 95% of shows. -

Insert some sort of clever "WHAT I ORDERED ON WISH" meme joke here... -
General Gaming Bluey: The Videogame - OUT NOW!
ort replied to Keyser_Soze's topic in The Spawn Point
I don't want to hijack this thread but maybe I do, whatever... but yeah, it's very weird... both of my kids play a lot of video games... but what is bizarre to me is that they always play the same games over and over again. I just find it weird how little interest they have in new gaming experiences. They've been playing the same few games for years and years and years. They do dabble in other stuff, but 90% of their playing time the last 5 years have been with the same few games that sort of phase in and out of favor. I mean, I guess that's how I am, because I play the same small handful of mobile games and also never seek out new games... but that's now that I am old and set in my ways. When I was young, I played everything. I wanted to try every kind of game and I played so many different games. Kids these days... they have access to literally EVERYTHING and yet, it's just Fortnite all the time. I guess they go where their friends are, but sheesh... it's a little weird. If you ask me. Not really, as bad as Fox News comments haver been over the years, I've noticed the overall level of discourse on there has been trending more and more violent, belligerent and desperate. I think die-hard right wingers are feeling more and more backed into a corner and persecuted and it's going to get ugly.

General Gaming Bluey: The Videogame - OUT NOW!

I don't have anything to add beyond... good god is Roblox a giant turd factory. My kid plays it non-stop and I do NOT understand the appeal. Pick from thousands of home made ugly weird glitchy garbage games. Thousands! Think of the possibilities! Let's spend $20 on coins on some random terrible buggy garbage fest I won't be playing in a week. That's a fantastic idea!- 14 replies

Consumer Technology Apple will finally support RCS in 2024
ort replied to TwinIon's topic in The Performing Arts Centre
This is the best news ever. Even as someone who is basically 100% inside of Apple's ecosystem, this has always been super frustrating. Like 50% of the people I interact with have Android phones and it will be nice to not have every single group text be completely borked up... it will be nice to not have cute videos of my niece look like they are digital video from 1997. It will be nice to be able to text my cousin hockey clips from my son and not have them be postage stamp size... It will just be great. I've always hated Apple's stubbornness here, because as an Apple user, it greatly affects us to. It just made it worse for everyone. -
Paul Pelosi’s attacker found guilty
ort replied to SaysWho?'s topic in The Political Re-Education Camp
It's still insane to me that prominant right wingers have full permission from polite society to joke and mock this incident. I don't really give a fuck, I just find it very hypocritical. If someone attacked McCarthy's wife with a hammer and Biden made jokes about it, it would result in months and months and months of non-stop outrage on Fox News and everywhere. It would be 50% of their coverage for weeks. -
This is pretty great... and so so so much better on a big TV than on the little screen. I have my own personal Switch Lite that is only for my use (because my kids destroy everything) and I had been playing it on that and it just kills my thumbs with the weird grip and bad ergonomics... figured out how to make my saves sync (easy, I just didn't have it on) across devices and now it's so much better playing on the main switch on an actual TV.
