I used to be a Daily Show mega fan for years and years and years... but I've really lost my taste for these left leaning comedic politics shows. They all feel the same to me. Apple has a very touchy relationship with China. If China decides to put the screws to them they can basically destroy their entire corporation overnight with the stroke of a pen. It's a symbiotic relationship, in that Apple spends SO MUCH money in China, but at the end of the day, China really likes Apple's money but Apple cannot really continue to exist if China shuts them off. China's influence on the media and other corporations here is disgusting. It applies to every company that manufactures electronics. It's not unique to Apple, they are just one of the most visible and obvious examples. I wish more companies would stand up to them, but it really isn't in their best interest unfortunately. Sucks.

The conspiracy theory on this is that Putin is behind the timing of the Hamas assault and is also pulling the strings to keep the house republicans from electing a leader to cause chaos, and weaken our ability to approve emergency military funding, etc and to split americas attention so he can make some sort of move in Ukraine or maybe just to be a dick.

I think Max is my most used service, but I pretty much just bounce around. I go where the shows I want are. We have Max, Netflix, Prime, Disney + and Bally Sports Midwest. My son sometimes has Crunchy Roll. I think I'm gonna drop Disney + because I haven't used it in a long time either. Lately I have been using Pluto TV to watch Star Trek or to put a bad old movie on in the background while I play on my iPad. I'm a big fan of Pluto TV. It feels like dollar store cable. It's the UHF of streaming services.

I agree that overall it is one of the best, I also haven't watched anything I care about at all on there in a long time. Sandman was the last show on there I think I watched... wasn't that at least a year ago if not more? My kids and wife use it though...

People are downright tearing into each other on places like Twitter. Rashida Talib made a tweet highly critical of the attack and blaming Israel immediately after the strike and has been just raked over the coals and slandered for "jumping to conclusions" before all the facts were in. I mean, okay... but also... it was perfectly reasonable to blame Israel. This wasn't some sort of outlandish hot take. It's not just her, it's everywhere. Basically, if you have any opinion beyond "let's do genocide", then you hate all jews.

The United States military is now officially saying they do not believe Israel was behind the bombing... (maybe old news) Still, is it really outlandish to assume it was Israel? Maybe having that "hot take" in the hours of chaos afterwards was not an unreasonable assumption to jump to. So, yeah, SHUT THE FUCK UP. In other news, holy shit Ben Shapiro has just completely gone off the rails.

So if there is a deadly explosion in the part of Gaza that's actively being bombed by Israeli, in a hospital that Israel warned the Palestinians to evacuate because they warned they were going to bomb it and then the government tweeted that they bombed it... you know, if you initially jumped to the conclusion that Israel was behind the attack, that you are clearly being duped and manipulated by Hamas and you hate all Jews and should be scorned forever for jumping to such an outlandish opinion before all the facts were in... I can guarantee you one thing, United States intelligence knows exactly who bombed that hospital... and the fact that they haven't cleared it up leads me to believe it was actually Israel, but who knows...

Anyway, for like the last 2 years, I would receive letters in the mail telling me that they were dropping support for cable cards and my TiVo would eventually stop working. I probably got the same letter 30 times, and that is not an exaggeration. Toward the end, I was getting a letter from them about every other week. Cable Cards were such a nightmare. A dead technology that never took off that cable companies were required by law to support. Techs wouldn't even have cable cards in their trucks. Most technicians had never even seen one, or if they had, it was something they had to deal with like once. I used to have to tell them what to do... I would have print outs and explainers and guides and be like, DO THIS. Luckily the online TiVo community (used to be) a thriving and useful place. Not so much these days...

The only reason I had Spectrum for so long was because it worked with TiVo. I only recently cut-the-cord and switched over to an all streaming world and honestly, I kind of miss cable... but it was getting to be too hard to justify the expense. We just were not getting good value from that money. The only real reason I had cable at all was to watch local sports, but now that (for the first time) I can stream 85% of the games for $20 a month thru Bally Sports, I felt it was time to rip off the band-aid... but honestly the service kinda sucks. If watching a hockey game taped off TiVo was a 10... watching streaming on Bally Sports is like a 3. But hey, it costs like $70 less per month. I would never touch one of these streaming boxes. They will never get me back.

Fox is ALL IN on turning this into a giant culture war. Anyone who isn't 100% in favor of genocide of Palestinians is an anti-semeitc deranged weirdo. They are pushing all of their chips in. The comment sections are next level INSANE. All reason, all nuance all everything is just to the window. Their page is 75% deranged culture war BULLSHIT with all nuance and reason tossed aside for inflammatory rhetoric and half truths and BLATANT NAKED DISGUSTING MANIPULATION. Ugh, I can't find the video now... but I saw someone posted a video they took in a neighboring theater where you could hear all the Swifties singing through the walls. It was pretty funny... I'm happy to see people so excited... happy for them. I personally don't really listen to her music, but Taylor Swift seems much more palatable, tasteful, talented, sincere and down to earth than most mega pop stars. Good for her and her fans.

Twitter is such a fucking dumpster fire now. My FOLLOWING feed has about 20% the activity it used to, when I go to the FOR YOU feed it just shows my obnoxious political crap, and mostly from prominent right wingers. And the. When you go to read the comments on them, he pushes all the blue check chuds to the top so the top commenters are always dumb right wingers who choose to pay musk $8 a month. It’s an echo chamber of utter right wing nonsense. He changed it so that when you link to a news article, it doesn’t show you the headline anymore. You only see a picture. You don’t even really have a good way to see that it even is a link. It just looks like a photo.
