Yesterday my home internet was down for 5 hours. I can't imagine this streaming box being viable with mobile internet, so I would have been screwed with the streaming console. Also from what I understand, you don't buy the games, you subscribe like Netflix? Cancel your subscription, and all you have is a lump of plastic. Not interested.

What are some of your early gaming memories? Things that got you into gaming? When I was a young kid, my parents owned a bar that had an Asteroids cabinet. In the mornings before the bar was open, my parents would sometimes let me play while they were getting everything ready to open up. I didn't have a home gaming system until I was maybe 9 or 10, when I got an Atari 800xl for Christmas. I remember playing a ton of River Raid, but after a few days it bricked and my parents took it back to the shop. The shop didn't have any more of them I stock, so luckily I got a Sinclair Spectrum instead! This was what really got me into gaming. Atic Atac, Jetpack and Underwurlde were in constant rotation, later joined by the likes of R-Type, Renegade, Firelord and Football Director. I have loved games ever since. What about you all?

Advance Wars?

I like a small proportion of games, some genres just don't appeal to me at all. I don't think you can really group everyone who plays games together under one banner 'gamers'. I have a friend who has an Xbox and buys FIFA every year, going back to early 360 times, which he plays for hundreds of hours. He pretty much doesn't touch any other games. Technically he is a gamer... But he only likes one game...

Been playing Stardew Valley (for a change...) I just love this game.

If any other company owned the Half Life IP, we'd be on Half Life 6 by now and begging for a Half Life 3 remaster...

I just don't understand why they wasted all this time not making Half Life...

Do Valve still make games?

Finally beat Pokémon Quest! I was determined to finish the game without spending anything, which led to it becoming a grind fest. Took me 40 hours, but I think if it were not for a stupid mistake I made I could have done it in 35 hours. If I spent money so I had more than one cooking pot, I would think that would have saved another 5-10 hours of grinding. I enjoyed most of it, but now I have kicked Mewtwo's butt I have zero desire to complete the pokedex etc... I AM DONE! Now to try and beat something else in my backlog, Maybe Steamworld Dig 2 or Dragon Quest Builders.

Game is called Mecho Tales, it is 88% off in the EU eshop. I am in Poland and it cost 3.97zl, about 90 cents US. I had enough gold points to get 3.50 off the price! I knew nothing about the game when I bought it, and bought it solely out of curiosity, thinking how bad can it be for the price? It's a 2D side scrolling platformer. I have played it for about 5 minutes, so got my money's worth already! It is not bad. You use the right stick to shoot in different directions, which will take me some getting used to, but I think I like it!

One of the first games announced for Switch was Steep by Ubisoft. I think one of the first threads I made on here last year was 'Where is Steep on Switch?' We have seen nothing of it in over a year, but Ubisoft still maintains that it is a thing. https://mynintendonews.com/2018/07/12/ubisoft-confirms-that-steep-is-still-in-development-for-nintendo-switch/ I really hope it does finally make it out. I like winter sports games, and whilst I understand that the game is far from being perfect on the other systems, there aren't exactly a million alternatives about.

I have Dragon Quest Builders on the Switch. Really good game, some of the dialog is great.

Reached the end of Pokémon Quest. My team isn't strong enough for the final boss though, and my patience for grinding is wearing thin...

Last time I wore a tie was to a funeral. Horrible things.

Not since I was 4-5 years old. I do pee in the shower occasionally though.

Turned on my Switch a moment ago and Pokémon Quest updated overnight. Not noticed any game play changes yet, but the first time I opened the map, I was given a gift of 500 of the in game currency as a 'Thanks for playing'... So that is nice!

Looks like old school Fallout. I might be tempted.

Looks like the industry is in a boom period, everyone is doing well.

Not played this before, but I will give it a try on Switch when it is out. Be good to play with some of you guys.

I got so pissed off with Pokémon Quest, I didn't touch it for a couple of days, played a little Stardew Valley instead. Back to Pokémon this morning though, un-gimped my team, should be straight sailing to the final boss from here...
