  1. not reaching, nor did I feel it was an argument in the making, lol, was merely curious.
  2. in general yes, however non-fiction novels are in fact a thing, often times used in relation to historical work, with the vast majority of the content being from historical data/records and the 'fictitious' part being bring that history to life. And that is what I thought you might have been referring to with the WWII book.
  3. apparently my expectations weren't low enough. what a ####ing mess.
  4. Didn't look it up, just figured that was a history book based on the WWII comment. Was just curious because I have a friend who loves movies/TV shows of all sorts but when it comes to books she tends to only read non-fiction, biographies actually. Just seemed like I always see you posting non-fiction and I was curious if you were the same way.
  5. okay just watched the first episode on demand....not even sure WTF they are really going for with this. I had thought I'd read that this season was supposed to tie back with the first season. Clearly that isn't the case.
  6. Went a nd saw Smokey and the Bandit today been a long time since I watched that. Still love it. Gleason is classic. When I get home I'm going to punch your mama in the mouth!
  7. oh I agree, I just mean that for the most part the rest of the cast were very much like people almost everyone knows. Not everyone knows a Michael or a Dwight
  8. Yes Dwight and Michael were over the top, but for the most part I've known people who are more or less like the rest of the cast.
  9. though in Wizard 2.0's favor, those books are narrated by Luke Daniels I believe.
  10. Yes and no, very different types of books, though I do love the Wizard 2.0 series...as long as you stop after the 3rd one. But with the Tome of Bill (or Bill the Vampire series) he can get 8 books for two credits.
  11. since I own it I'll see it through. The problem is they are trying way too hard and all the characters are caricatures. In the office most of the characters were fairly believable, that isn't the case here.
  12. oh another series that just occurred to me. The Tome of Bill. It's an 8 book series, but I think you can get the entire thing for 2 credits, books 1-4 and 5-8 are bundled. It's a funny horror series about a this geek who gets turned into a vampire.
  13. Bray is damn good. I don't think I've ever heard Thompson. as I mentioned early my favorites include Luke Daniels, Jeff Hays (seriously with his vocal range he is the mel blanc of audiobooks), and Nick Podehl (though I think part of the reason I like Nick so much is simply some of the books he's narrated. I love the Kingkiller Chronicles so much and have listened to them repeatedly)
  14. Kevin Pierce sounds like a tired old man telling stories around a fire, though I don't believe him to be all that old. I love his narration He tends to narrate mostly post apocalyptic/survival stuff.
  15. Though I like him as an actor, I've never listened to any of Fry's work. As for Jim Dale, he's okay but there are plenty of narrators that blow him out of the water.
  16. Hmm that's one I may consider. I have a bunch of credits I need to burn before I cancel my subscription as well. @DPCyric did you sign up for audible last year when it was on sale? for only 99?
  17. my local Kroger had the Halloween candy display up July 31st, Disney started doing their Halloween party Aug 17th, so no probably not too early.
