  1. Not really in that category. But I entertain theories about JFK that challenge the official story. There just haven't been any that are better supported than the official story, for me.
  2. During the pandemic I went pretty deep into studying conspiracy theories. That chart is fairly well known and I have my criticisms of it. But it's generally a pretty reasonable summary of the potential harm a lot of conspiracy theories can pose. The only ones I don't recognize are (from top to bottom): RFID in bras Ancient giant trees Avril Lavigne Greta Thunberg time travel Kylie Jenner is a clone Prince Charles vampire Stuff that doesn't matter, basically.
  3. I'm not that great at words of affirmation. But that's a silly way of thinking. Your life like isn't a car you're driving into the ground. This is you, man! Reschedule and see if you can make some minor changes. Save the defeatism for national politics
  4. I use FreeTaxUSA. It's enough for my simple tax return, has similar automation to TurboTax and is, as the name suggests, free. It should be what everyone uses if you do your own taxes.
  5. Not a fan of the movement of Godzilla. Too cgi for my tastes. But I'm always happy with Japanese Godzillas, so I'll catch it.
  6. I'm sold. This is Rebels Season 5. I'm fucking in. Give it to me now. Hype train rolling.
  7. It is in this moment that we all need to be reminded of the best restaurant review ever printed. Guy Fieri's American Kitchen and Bar really, really sucked donkey sauce. Restaurant Review: Guy’s American Kitchen & Bar in Times Square - The New York Times WWW.NYTIMES.COM What the food and service at Guy Fieri’s Times Square establishment conjure is pure bafflement, among other things.
  8. How is it that "BRICS" is still a thing? Shouldn't it just be IC now since India and China are the only two countries that have significant amounts of global economic power?
  9. I hear ya man. During covid both my water heater and my dishwasher broke within a month of each other. After that a storm flooded my basement and I had to have mold mitigation and drywall work done across a whole wall. Then I had to get a leaky faucet replaced too. Yours sounds a lot deeper of a hole!
  10. Zelenskyy is in Turkey on his Eurotour. Erdogan just stated in a press conference that "Ukraine deserves to be in NATO."
  11. This is literally the same talking point Alex Jones used yesterday to attack Biden. He DOESN'T have a point.
  12. The cluster bomb thing is tough. On the one hand, the Ukrainians know what they need to achieve and they want weapons to help that. On the other is the fact that this will exacerbate issues with demining in a future where Ukrainian territory is retaken. In response to the first, they know that they need area-wide weapons to deal with entrenched Russian defenses. Their artillery cannot saturate enough as it is to achieve their aims. So they want wider area effects out of their weapons. Unfortunately, I don't know that this is the silver bullet they want it to be.
  13. Fuck that. Also, you couldn't pay me to tweet what I tweet to my IRL friends on instagram.
  14. My issue is I (and lots of other people not as well off as I am) have only so much money and room for monthly subs! I have Patreon podcasts subscriptions that total almost $100 a year. I've got Amazon Prime and Spotify Premium. Hell, I'm stealing HBO and Disney! I can't pay for EVERYTHING I do. SOMETHING has to be free! These bastards can't make money off of everything. (Which, I understand full well that, yes, they can.) Even our leisure is capitalized to extract value from us. Fucking leeches.
  15. I hate capitalism so much. It really does feel like what I knew the internet to be is going away forever.
  16. I hit my rate limit right before severe weather moved through. Some local meteorologists do warnings and notifications on twitter and it really fucked them up.
  17. So instead of one chain there are two. And instead of two tires with a small contact area to the ground there are rubber treads with huge contact area. Instead of an efficient energy to speed gearing with a normal bike he has this slower-than-walking contraption. I fucking hate "engineering" videos like this. Innovation isn't taking something and making it more shit. This is an idiotic waste of material and effort for no benefit other than "look what I did!" He made something stupid. That's what.
  18. All restaurants should do this. Tipping culture, even if it is lucrative during some shifts, is bad for employees overall.
