  1. Okay, I read that wrong at first, lol. I was gonna say, “I like a little Reba from time to time!”
  2. Finished up Kill Creek last night. It could have been good, but damn the author does not know how to write female characters. Cringe. Also, I hate when authors dump on fat people. Like, okay, we get it. This character is fat. You don't have to keep reminding us every other page. Started another Irish HF, but this is set in the 90s and is a sapphic coming of age story. Sunburn by Chloe Michelle Howarth.
  3. Yeah, I got mine yesterday. My husband recognized the name from the last time you sent me books. He maintains it sounds like a porn star name. Thanks, @Commissar SFLUFAN!
  4. Republicans are such miserable people. I used to have this irrational dislike of Swift. I'm still not a fan of her music, but damn if I don't say "you go girl!" these days.
  5. I've never found the gameplay in ND games to be particularly compelling. It's solid and I don't really have any complaints, but it's just pretty by the numbers. With ND, it's all about presentation and story and that's why TLOU series ranks so high for me. The stories and the world just really had an impact on me.
  6. I'm not particularly invested in football these days, but I hope SF wins. I just hate KC. Would have been more interesting to have a Ravens/Lions SB, get some teams not on repeat.
  7. Wooo, finally finished Trinity. Only took me two months. I'm mixed on it. Parts were engaging, but it also really dragged.
  8. I don't for VR for this reason. Only normal game that ever made me motion sick was Half Life 2, but that was years ago. Don't know why.
  9. He’s kinda touchy but I recall one photo that kept getting passed around all the time was his granddaughter and he was hugging her at a funeral or something. And yeah, he’s been called out. But sure, vote for the guy who brags about assaulting women and has been found liable in civil trials for actual sexual assault.
  10. I always found these award shows to be so cringe. Just a bunch of rich people patting themselves on the backs. I dunno. I guess I have a degree of appreciation for acting, though I’m not a big movie buff. But the actual Oscars(and other shows) themselves are just cringe.
  11. I had several good ones of Mauer when I saw them play at my first Fenway trip in 2016.
  12. It really depends on the game. But I put down Dragon Quest IX for like two years and managed to pick back up where I left off. I really try to stick with games these days, though.
  13. Beltre was a HoF lock on his first ballot. I’m surprised Mauer got in his first go, but happy. I always really liked him. And Todd Helton, too. Good class this year .
  14. Kill Creek by Scott Thomas - fiction Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann - nonfiction
  15. If Jason really doesn't want The Witcher book, I'll take it. Also, really? We're asking why people want to keep books? Sigh.
  16. It’s astounding my dad expressed the belief that Biden has dementia and Trump is cognitively sound. My dad is also a nurse. 😑
  17. Yeah, doubling my income in California won’t do a ton of good when a house half the size of mine here costs 4x as much.
  18. Damn, using Zillow, the median value for my city as a whole is $200k, but narrow it down to my zip code and it jumps up to $350k, which is about what Zillow estimates for my house. We paid $250k in 2014.
  19. Which is why I’m still in Arkansas, despite the shit politics.
  20. Finished The Intern, now onto Ozark Dogs by Eli Cranor. Arkansas author and he’s pretty good.
  21. Sometimes I wonder how I do so well when so many others my age are in the gutter. I grew up lower middle class, parents worked in factories, didn't contribute anything to my college fund, but I got scholarships and the $30k of combined debt we had coming out of college(mostly his) was paid off in a year. I'm 36, with zero debt, mortgage is paid off, I put 25% in my 401k, plus other retirement accounts, and still manage to pretty well afford any luxuries I want. I mean, yeah, not having kids is part of it and we haven't had any major medical struggles, so I know there's been a degree of luck, but still.
