  1. I do yeah, though I figure going on an actual date will be a different ball game than shooting the shit at the gym entirely so I'm a tad nervous argh.
  2. I actually tried to replay it recently and it aged terribly. I had very fond memories due to its great setting and all but seemed to have forgotten how borderline bad its actual gameplay and controls were.
  3. This kind of thing happens to me all the time. If games don't push me into using all my tools with difficulty or some other type of necessity, I tend to forget about mechanics.
  4. No, I've been single for like 7 months and I'm not getting any younger, pretty sure it's time. Whaaa? And what an awful idea for a thread. This is what happens when you're overly excited about something and don't use your head, jesus.
  5. So I think you should all perversely gamble on my upcoming date's outcome. After going through a separation and everything, I've been slightly dipping back into dating. Needless to say, it's been a horrible experience especially being literally new to online dating which should be in a redacted version of Dante's Inferno as the 10th Circle Of Hell. But, but, but...I've got one coming up that's with this beautiful Puerto Rican girl I've been giving private lessons to on the side at my kickboxing academy. I almost came when she told me her favorite band is Black Sabbath and she's into record collecting. What god made this perfect being?! Yes, she appears to have many other great qualities but come on... So, will I fail or nail? Let's hear it.
  6. I don't know if this was a common mention in reviews or so but some aspects really reminded me of Metroid Prime. The double-jump with that sound effect and the boss fights specifically. One aspect I ended up really getting into were the alt-fires on each gun being actually useful. I tend to forget about stuff like this somehow in some games but the attachments, whatever they call them, were usually really useful and fun. Sniping with the Gauss Canon feels great every time fully upgraded.
  7. Beat it yesterday, pretty wet fart of an ending. Overall I did really enjoy the game in the end and I stick by the fact I ate crow here. Going to try my hand at Arcade Mode for a bit since I'm not really feeling done yet. Not sure what to spend the million weapon upgrade points I have on though...basically everything's maxed out since the last three levels.
  8. I agree completely which is why I didn't disagree with the post I quoted. Just saying I don't find indie games any less cliche-ridden if looking at the big picture.
  9. Wow...this is off to a great start. Congratulations everyone already. By the way, @Chris-, I really hope you were high when you wrote that.
  10. While I don't disagree with that, indie games chase their own trends and cliches from what I see. There's the emotional story + subpar gameplay platformer, the emotional journey walking sim and so on. We're getting games like Red Dead Redemption 2, God Of War, Resident Evil 2, Sekiro, Dishonored 2, Hitman, Monster Hunter, Devil May Cry 5 and what not from the, well arguably on some accounts I guess, AAA camp. Big releases have been more varied and exciting in the past few years than ever for me but I couldn't go without either indies nor big budget. This thread is also reminding me of my abject failure as a human when playing The Witness, jesus.
  11. I just can't stand the overall art style and think the backgrounds are terrible compared to something like SotN. For some reason I find the entire HUD to look really "cheap" as well. The damage numbers and so on all have this generic font and so on. It's not the resolution or frame rate or anything technical like that, just the art direction in general.
  12. Bought it but was only able to spend an hour or so on it thus far. It's so damn ugly, it's almost impressive and I thought maybe it'd be nicer in motion. I shit on Hollow Knight's visuals first but ended up really liking them in practice, not here though. Gameplay is pretty good so far but something feels off about movement compared to his previous titles I've played. I'll reserve full judgment until I'm really further into it but first impressions are okay.
  13. There are some pretty decent reviews but then there's shit like this. Being rather jaded and in short supply of time these days, I tend to pay closer attention to bad reviews honestly. Gamespot - 3/10
  14. Imagine they didn't feature these options at this point after the seemingly daily drama revolving around this game's representation of xyz elements of society. And if they didn't include any romance options...Alt-Right sleeper cell status confirmed.
  15. The same city that seems to be perfectly fine with seemingly a third of its residents smoking rock out in the open and in broad daylight.
  16. This whole situation keeps getting weirder. What is happening in this interview?
  17. Holy shit, I just looked at a family tree online and am now doubly confused somehow. Weirdly, I fully "got it" when season 1 finished but now I have no fucking clue what happened again. Maybe I'll just watch the last two episodes or so of season 1...
  18. Shit. I really don't have time to rewatch an entire damn show for its second season despite truly loving it. I'm pretty sure I'd be in the same boat...that show was fucking densely woven. Is there no decent recap on Netflix? Actually, I should snap a picture of my "chart" I made in my little notebook I keep on my coffee table while watching season 1! I got so wrapped up in this show, I was taking notes. Need to go find it tonight.
  19. That's 100% how I remember it as well and even how I discussed it with several friends, especially that first paragraph.
  20. I also love the old Sam Sho games, so this might be a good idea overall. From reviews I've seen thus far it seems the game is quite lean and simple to learn, yet hard to master. Sounds quite ideal actually.
