  1. Sorry? I just read the article and gave my two cents and mocked the use of the 'good family' euphemism, what's your problem with that exactly?
  2. Exactly. The kid's karate instructor kidnapped and molested his son from what I recall, took him over state lines and what not. He ended up blowing the guy's head off as he was taken out of the court room. Happy ending part is that he never even went to jail as far as I recall this, he only got house arrest and probation or something.
  3. This kind of thing always immediately reminds me of that father that blew his son's kidnapper/molester's head off in the courthouse in the 80's. I can't even fathom how hard it must be to resist that urge.
  4. I honestly feel like it's so parody-level that I'd actually follow an investigation into the judge's ties with the kid's family. It's so absurd, you think there has to be an ulterior motive like having dirt on the dude or something to even put his reputation etc. on the line for this. Let's not forget it's not easy, or for dummies, to become a judge. You're right, it does actually read like a parody it's so utterly flagrant.
  5. Also: So this raised-like-garbage turd sent evidence, and essentially a confession, of rape for all to see and the judge still breaks out the gymnastics he did to get him off, amazing.
  6. Good family translation = donates money/goes out to dinner/goes golfing with judge's family. Rich family pulls strings. Just check out the county this took place in. This doesn't work for poor or even middle class people, whites included. It's old-money shit at work first and foremost and old-money is always white in the States. So yeah, #1 is always enough to an extent, the wealth level is probably just higher if you're not old-money white and entrenched in the local community where everybody owes you favors and you have dirt on everyone.
  7. Could've seen actual tanks in action if ya weren't a draft dodger, broham.
  8. I'll buy it and just skip all the emotional cutscenes and report that I'm doing so here just to annoy you guys.
  9. I still haven't played The Last of Us actually. I sometimes wanna grab it at the story but then remember the only time I see it mentioned is for its story.
  10. Having just played God Of War, I was actually amazed that people find its Hallmark Channel son & dad soap dramatics appealing. I loved the general world building and environmental storytelling, most definitely, and it was also a beautifully done game overall but the story itself would've been ridiculed in any other medium for being a cloying barrel of cliches in my opinion.
  11. This is the most American shit I've seen in a while. As an immigrant I try to be respectful since I'm the guest here, but this is fucking hilariously 'Mericuuhhhnnn.
  12. Based on this argument, you two will be married within a month.
  13. I don't disagree with all media/stories being able to do this in some capacity but the way it's presented here, especially the as-always silly hyperbole in their juvenile writing, makes it way funnier than the actual concept would be if it were presented in a more down-to-earth fashion. I once again have a problem more so with Kotaku itself and their stupid fucking articles rather than the concept behind it. I mean, I found SOMA to be a pretty thought-provoking experience for example.
  14. Bloodborne was so fucking good, it made me wonder if the Old Ones really do exist and I'm just a pawn in their Lovecraftian schemes to have the moon vomit giant decaying limb monsters into my front yard. Then I turned the console off and continued to live my actual life.
  15. Problem with me is I have pretty limited time at this point to really sink into games so if I've played say 10 of a certain type of game over the years and I only liked 1 or 2, I'm not going for more. I'll definitely declare that genre to be lame for my tastes and I'm good. SOMA was definitely the exception to the rule because any other game I've ever played that's story-focused and has barely-existent gameplay has sucked huge amounts of ass.
  16. Probably kind of unrelated but I will say that SOMA was a standout game for me this gen and on paper it's every indie cliche I hate.
  17. Nice try, that's Uncharted 1 through 13 for those who don't know.
  18. Granted, this entire thread is dumb and I realized it shortly after posting it.
  19. Someone didn't have their morning croissant...
  20. Yeah, I've known her for like two months and she asked me out soooo...
