I'm in the same place as BP. Never finished it. After a few of the colossi I just start finding the process of the game more tedious than fun and end up getting distracted by another game. I've gone back to it several times but have never been able to push myself to complete it. I get why it's so liked by so many people...I just can't get into it.

Here and elsewhere I tend not to post unless I think I'm adding something to the conversation. And my political opinions being what they are, I generally feel that I'm represented...fairly well, by other folks' posts for the most part. I generally won't jump in on a thread unless I think I have a different angle or insight that isn't being explored and that could bring value to the discussion. I feel that it would just clutter things to jump in and circle-jerk with a bunch of people that already agree with me if I'm not bringing anything new to the table. The frustrating thing for me, when it comes to political and current event discussion, is that it seems people who promote my shared opinions also tend to also voice support for positions that I'm firmly against and I'm wary about being associated with them. I end up arguing against both "sides" of a conversation after assumptions are made about where I stand because of who/what I'm agreeing with on $thing and it's honestly tiring. dreaming - Some day I'll find a political party/candidate/figure that I can fully support without any reservation A bit, yeah. Even in Discord though I only really post occasionally in one or two channels. I'm not super active. It's easier to be active there though, as I have discord up in a window on one of my many monitors and can see activity on the fly, versus refreshing a web page.

This week was actually interesting for the leaderboard. Usually we get a handful of medium bets, maybe a couple big ones. Couple people move up or down. That's it. This week though there was a lot of movement. Not just the lost bets, but some won bets and some people did surprisingly well on the questions. Several players nailed all of Question 5 too.

I've created this thread after some discussion with a few of our players about having some more interaction between y'all as you battle it out for the title of D1P MGT Champion. Because I lock the weekly thread at the deadline each week, it doesn't leave a lot of room for non-entry based posts, discussion, congratulations, or shit talking which is half the fun of a competition. So here we introduce, "The Mock Gambling Thread Discussion Thread!" This thread is for any non-entry posts about the MGT, the games, the players, the results, and any other related discussion. Don't post entries to this thread as they will not only not count, but we'll all laugh at you. Good-natured trash talking is encouraged. But don't be dicks. Y'all know where the lines are. IMPORTANT NOTES FOR WEEK 6 AND GOING FORWARD - The Mock Gambling "Week" starts with the kickoff of the first scheduled game of the week and ends at the conclusion of Monday Night Football. With all the COVID-19 schedule rearrangement happening, you need to keep this in mind. Games played after the end of the MGT week (a game pushed to a Tuesday, for example) will not count. This effects your MGT answers in 2 ways: If a game that is in Question #5 or is the Feature Game gets pushed to a Tuesday after the thread for the week has been posted, a new game will be selected in its place and I will make a post @'ing all the players so that you have the opportunity to change your answers. For the purpose of any "which team" or "which player" questions (most yards, most sacks, highest scores, etc.) games played after MNF will be non-existent as far as the MGT is concerned. So don't choose a player who will be playing Tuesday or Wednesday as your top RB for the week; you will be very incorrect. - Keep an eye on the deadline. You may have more or less time than you think to mull over your answers. This week, for example, since TNF was canceled the entry deadline isn't until the Sunday early games kick off. - Since I lock these threads at the deadline, it doesn't leave a lot of room for friendly game day trash talking. Keep an eye out for the MGT 2020 Discussion thread which will be made shortly for just that purpose. :P
