  5. Man, how long does it take for a cop to show up? The video was a couple minutes but obviously cut. Those dudes were wrasslin' for a good while. Side note: Fighting for that long is exhausting.
  6. Really dug this episode. Taker was always my favorite back when I watched Wrestling. This is the first time I've heard him speak without him affecting the Undertaker persona. Good stuff.
  7. I've never been to DragonCon! It's on the list to hit someday though.
  8. I hate project managers (But I heart you, Vic ). I recognize the sources of my frustration usually aren't their fault, but rather one's of procedure or policy. But them being in the unfortunate position of being the "Face" of those policies means they are often the target of my ire.
  9. Conventions. GenCon, PAXU, Origins, HMGS, ComiCon...I miss all of them. Quizzo. We have a regular Wednesday night bar quizzo night we always attended with our friends. It was a great way to break up the week. Full on no-holds barred hashing without restrictions. Going places not within "driving distance". Like everyone, all my vacation plans this year were thrown out the window. I miss travel.
  10. Yeah I'd have to start fresh even though I wasn't very far when I phoned it in. Some on fire village with a pond in the back.
  11. This thread is making me want to give it another go after I finish Ghost. Damnit, I still have Nioh to start.
  12. Tomorrow morning I'll be waking up, making a ridiculous sized bowl of Lucky Charms and watching this. Can't wait.
  13. I also forgot to lock the Week 11 thread at kickoff last night. I'm firing on all cylinders this week.
  14. The thing I hated most about Sekiro was that I could dodge/block/parry/whatever attacks just fine, but it didn't matter because I didn't use the "right" dodge/block/parry/whatever so I could never counter-attack effectively. I suck at quick time events. I really do. My brain-to-hand speed I guess just isn't fast enough to recognize and react which symbol flashes over an enemy's head before they attack so I end up screwing those up most of the time by doing the "wrong" thing to avoid a particular attack. I avoid or block the attack successfully, just not the way the game wants me to. The end result was a series of looooong boring fights that ended with me eventually just giving in. That's the big difference between Sekiro and traditional Souls games to me. In a given Souls encounter you can approach things multiple ways, you can dodge or block or parry or run or whatever to avoid an attack while you look for openings to get damage in and counter. Everything is valid and it's up to you to discover what works for you. With Sekiro the devs were like, "we not only want you to play this one way we also want you do this one very specific thing in response to this specific action that you'll only have a split second to realize is happening else punish".
  15. Haha, yup. I remember one year at GenCon a buddy of mine made the mistake of buying it on the vendor floor like first thing in the morning because he was so excited to pick it up. He didn't considering having to lug that damn box around the convention all day. He only lasted a couple hours before he took a Lyft back to the hotel to drop it off in the room then come back. :P
  16. I'm a huge Souls game fan and I did not like Sekiro that much. It felt less like Souls combat and more like a series of quick-time events where you had to recognize the flashing symbol and respond with a correct button press. So I can't say that you'll like the other Souls games, but I don't think your dislike for Sekiro is necessarily a determining factor in that.
  17. Yeah, I was in a hurry when I wrote it up originally and after I posted it I was like, "Eh...they all know what that question means by now", and left it alone. I was wrong. :P

Pittsburgh @ Jacksonville 4. KC @ Vegas 5. Football Team, Browns, Panthers 6. 100-149 7. Jamie Collins 8. Gibson, McLaurin #####################
  19. BasemntDweller2 remains on-top with another non-entry, resting confident that other players will have to bet big or tank to catch up to him. But with 6 weeks remaining in the regular season and still the post-season to go, there's plenty of time to chip away at that lead! ########## WEEK 10 RESULTS ########## Week 10 Feature Game: Indianapolis Colts (+2.5) at Tennessee Titans The Colts wrecked the Titans by a score of 36.5(34+2.5)-17. Bets on Indy win. QUESTIONS 1) What will be the first scoring play of the Feature Game? Colts TD, Colts FG, Colts safety, Titans TD, Titans FG, Titans safety, or other? ($900 for the correct call) Tannehill chucks a quick 5 yarder to Foreman for a touchdown and the first score during a time when Tennessee still felt good about themselves. 2) Which team in the Feature Game will have the greater Time of Possession? ($800 for the right team) Indianapolis held the ball for 31:18 to TN's 28:42. 3) Who will score the first touchdown in the Minnesota @ Chicago game? ($1,000 for the correct answer) Adam Thielen pulled in a 17 yard pass for the first end-zone trip of the game. Everyone except me got a free $1,000 for this question because I worded it vaguely and didn't include the usual explanation that I give whenever this question is posed in a given week. I will be sure to be super clear in the future to avoid confusion. 4) Name any Quarterback who will be sacked 4 or more times in Week 10. ($900 for the correct player) Russell Wilson got dropped 6 tiumes and Joe Burrow was brought down 4 times. thewhyteboar was the only player to call Wilson, while several players saw Burrows' bad day coming. 5) Call the winners: L.A. Chargers at Miami Seattle at L.A. Rams Buffalo at Arizona ($800 for EACH correct named game winner, $1,500 bonus if you call all 3 correctly) A lack of faith in the Rams and Cards means no Question 5 bonus awarded this week. 6) Making people miss: Name the player who will have the most yards after catch (YAC) in a single play this week. ($1,500 for the right guess) Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Alvin Kamara both dodged bullets to tie with 38 YAC on single plays. Keyser_Soze was the only player to call either of these guys, nailing the Valdes-Scantling pick. 7) Road trip: How many visiting teams win in Week 10? ($900 for the correct call) Bad week for the road teams, with only 3 visitors defeating their hosts. Nobody guessed this. 8) Name the player who will rush for the most yards AND the player that will have the most receiving yards in week ten. ($3,500 for each player named correctly, $7,500 bonus if both names are called) Ronald Jones II led the runners in Week 10 with 192 yards while Marquez Valdes-Scantling led receivers with 149. Nobody guessed either player. ######### LEADERBOARD ######### @BasemntDweller2 - $72,700 @AbsolutSurgen - $38,000 @ManUtdRedDevils - $35,500 @thewhyteboar - $31,100 @Commissar SFLUFAN - $28,950 Slug - $14,500 @Keyser_Soze - $13,200 @Biggie - $10,500 @Alpha1Cowboy - $4,800 @Greatoneshere - $2,900 @Kal-El814 - $2,700 @Dodger - $1,500 If you think I mathed wrong, let me know. ########## THE SEASON ######### Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 Week 4 Week 4 Week 5 Week 6 Week 7 Week 8 Week 9 Week 10 ############################### WEEK 11 FEATURE GAME AND QUESTIONS FOLLOW THIS POST!
  20. You should be intimidated. It's a behemoth. There's a lot to track. But so satisfying if you can get your arms around it. You can also play it as a single player RPG so yay. FWIW I recommend watching one of the dev "how to play" videos on youtube before you play. Also there's a couple real good android/ios apps that help you track everything while playing which makes everything sooo much easier. But scope and fiddly-ness aside, if you get a handle on it, it really is a terrific game. It's like playing a good difficult D&D dungeon crawl.
  21. I thought we had gotten to a point where people could manage lining up. I was wrong. Oof, yeah. Frankly I blame Sony more than anyone else. They should've had a standard console launch and let the retailers handle COVID precautions rather than do the whole pre-order/online only nonsense. Enforce line distancing and masks. Give out numbers to keep people out of line. When the store opens only let one person in at a time. There's no reason they couldn't have just done a standard launch. Instead we get the web-crashing bot fest.
