  1. Gonna disagree here and go thru some of his points Banes voice actually works and the author is on point but still misses it. " But since Bane’s voice feels so ethereal and unsourced, it creates a constant disconnect for the audience." It puts the viewer on edge as much like the people near the character. Again the author misses the point on "Bane’s voice is not the only thing that feels incongruent about the character. It’s also in the way that foppish voice matches with Bane’s exterior presence, the impression of a physically imposing bald brawler with a steampunk BDSM mask. That honestly makes for an inherently hilarious combination, one that is amped up by the character’s baseline theatricality " Regardless if Nolan intended it or not the voice mismatch with body makes the character off tilt and that puts the audience off tilt. The author talks about the humor falling flat and while its not great its not terrible but it hardly puts it in the realm of "Camp" If the characters were a couple of 12 year olds this "There’s the hilarious way Alfred saunters in and reports back on Bane’s League of Shadows connections like he’s just Googled “who is Bane?” Or the way he describes Bane’s incredible fighting precision, except he and Bruce are just watching on a fuzzy monitor as Bane awkwardly headbutts people. This is the act of disconnecting the audience, who can’t help but see the difference between the thing as it is intended and the way we absorb it." would be camp but its god damn Batman , its not out of character for him to be able to access any and all criminal databases. The author goes on about the love scene , the turn , the exposition that comes at the audience so rapid fire and the politics all while answering his own question. The last 1/3 of the film feels rushed beyond belief but again none of that is camp. I think the biggest argument for not camp is the lack of 2 points that are foundation for camp 1. The treatment of extraordinary as ordinary essentially the "To Much" If we had a scene of Bane standing in line buying a Slurpie and some scratchers at 7 11 at 11:30 in the morning and no one bats an eye, then we have camp. Everyone treats whats happening in the film as one would expect. 2. Extravagance Nothing in the film falls under this in fact its one of the few super hero films that diverts away from the flamboyant nature of such films.
  2. Is there an actual link that gives sale figures for the x1x cause I cant find any?
  3. Looking for some folks to go some rounds with, I am terrible but I am learning.
  4. Nope , I buy games when I want to. Game Pass hasnt really offered me anything thats must play and I avoid Epic like the Black Death.
  5. If they are really shooting for native 4k 60 and not just the sorta sometimes 4k 60 I would say Xbox will be North of $500. I also think most of the console market will balk at this price.
  6. As long I can choose to play the game as From designed it , I dont care how anyone else does it. Nope
  7. I love me some dark souls but I could give a fuck less how anyone else plays the game. Yup but that discussion isnt the same as this one so why bring it up? Yup and ?
  8. You never really learned to drive a car unless you drove with it out power steering You never really have gone camping unless you started a camp fire by hand with 2 sticks You cant call your self a hunter unless you have taken down a grizzly with just your knife "I went sailing last week" "Did you use only compass and the stars to navigate" "No its called Marine GPS" "Then you really didnt go sailing"
  9. Its not so simple as that. They believe in the model minority theory and in fact some believe that Asians are almost superior to the white race and to "mingle" with them they are bringing the white race up.
  10. @atom631 2 co workers bought them. 1 had a trigger issue and the other had a face button issue. The trigger issues caused him to replace it and the face button remedied itself. My personal opinion is they are cheaply made and way over priced.
  11. PC preferably but I do have a switch and PS4 Pro. I know this going to be mostly JRPGs which is fine as long as they dont go overboard . Maybe Disgaea series?
  12. Tokyo Drifter Seijun Suzuki absolute bonkers yakuza film thats a mash up of gangster/spaghetti western/60's pop and LSD trip. Its about a Yakuza gang that decides to go straight and the blow back that follows. Visual: Criterion does a hell of job on this , its clean. Audio: Its a 60's film so you only get a mono sound but there is no hiss or pop.
  13. https://gamedaily.biz/article/1478/telltale-20-we-cannot-right-the-wrongs-of-the-former-company "We’re currently working with several former Telltale people on a freelance basis and will be opening up full-time positions sometime in January. As we’ve previously said, we’re taking a measured approach to growth and are focused on bringing in the right people at the right time in production.” The freelance approach is something that has rubbed some former Telltale employees the wrong way. As noted by Krause on Twitter, “If this new Telltale really wants to bring back the studio and are genuine in their intents, then I honestly hope it works out. But hiring former devs on a freelance basis in the most expensive part of the country doesn’t really encourage me that much.” When GameDaily pushed on the freelance scenario, Ottilie pushed back: “We are focused on hiring the right talent for each role - people committed to making great games in the style for which Telltale is renowned. " Hiring the staff as freelancers is really shitty, game devs really need to unionize to stop this.
  14. Ciri's story could have been told as whole in later episode , there really is no reason to mix it in with Geralt and Yens. GOT does a massive dump of info in the first few episodes and does it well. The characters are called by name over and over again and so are the locations they are in. It never holds your hand because it doesn't have to, each episode also provides a handy map for the realm. The Witcher introduces characters with unusual names that are short on screen time and locations are just throw aways, with the exception of Ciri's home so a lot of viewers dont feel anchored to the story. I am on episode 5 and while I do like it it feels rough at times.
