  1. Went hiking this past weekend on Mt. Hood and got a couple good shots: The last one made me think of this:
  2. Those are both great ideas, thanks! Yeah, you're right, I'm in Portland so maybe I need to look significantly south (probably not east since I doubt they'd offer any EVs at all). Were you running into similar issues ("market adjustments", general availability) with the EV6? What's your favorite aspect of owning an EV? And your least favorite?
  3. Been really tempted by an Ioniq 5 to replace my 2007 Prius with 280,000 miles on it, but 1) the general availability still hasn't caught up to demand 2) for the rare dealer that does have one, they're tacking on an additional $10k in "market adjustment" fees to the price. Did anyone here go full EV? What do you think?
  4. It's a brave new world... You know though that this tech will enable someone else to make an even darker-skinned version of Ariel. And someone else will make the whole movie star Spongebob.
  5. That's great news, @best3444, I'm very glad to hear it! Not knowing is the worst part, and you're one step closer, plus you ruled out the big C. Keep hanging in there!
  6. Ugh, sorry to hear you're still not feeling well. Totally understandable to be concerned, but you're doing the right thing by asking for more testing. They'll figure it out! In the meantime, I hope you start to feel better!
  7. Pics or it didn't happen Just kidding, glad you got to meet and bang talk.
  8. I guess it depends on whose definition of "cook" one uses, but I think I can cook well enough. I can follow directions, have a decent sense for what would go together for improvisation, can handle basic techniques.... But I'm kind of in the same boat as @stepee, I think... I can, but I don't particularly enjoy it. I much prefer to just get eating over with and go back to other things I like more, so having to spend even half an hour making something is more annoying than enjoyable to me.
  9. Went hiking in Washington yesterday ("Silver Star Mountain") and had a great hike, despite the smoke and semi-challenging route (2000 vertical feet in about 3 miles).
  10. Unless the tone or body language strongly suggests it's more meaningful, I chalk it up to them just being a little thoughtless with their word choices.
  11. The threshold should be quite a bit higher than 61%, IMO. About 65% of Americans identify as Christian, but I cringe every time someone calls us a Christian nation.
  12. Almost posted this yesterday, myself. Didn't have the power shut off at my home in Portland or at work in Hillsboro, but got warnings about the possibility in both places.
  13. That looks amazing, thanks for posting that, SFLUFAN. I also recognized Daniel Brühl, from Inglorious Basterds, Goodbye Lenin!, and The Edukators. Fantastic actor!
  14. This is both adorable and heartbreaking. I'm so glad you took one in!
  15. Yeah I did a DNA test on my guy too, which is how I found out he's Aussie/border collie. For the first few months I had him before the DNA test, I thought he was pure Aussie.
  16. I watched Unorthodox, a Netflix miniseries (4 episodes, about 1 hour each) about a woman who escapes her arranged marriage and Hasidic community in New York and flees to Berlin. An excellent story about making your own way, the importance of connection, the goodness of people, and more, all without being preachy or condemning religion very harshly. As a bonus, it was also fun for me to hear both Yiddish and German. 8.5/10
  17. The underbite is adorable. And I love her tag!
  18. What breed are you getting?
