The Final Cut has a bunch of bugs when I played through it, I had to kill the app maybe a dozen times and resize the screen to get text prompts to appear. Hopefully they patch that stuff out.

Someone who used to work for me who has family back in India had his family ravaged by it recently. “Only” his father passed away, which is an odd thing to say except for the fact that his father, mother, all his aunts and uncles, and more, all came down with it and all of them ended up hospitalized. I don't watch streamers. But for many many many people, the point of watching the streamer is the streamer, not the game they're playing. Again, a talk show host saying this is hilarious, people watch specific streamers for the exact same reason they watch Maher.

Saying watching Twitch is just, "watching other people playing videogames," is like saying watching a movie is just watching people roleplay. Yes it's literally true, yes it deliberately pedantic in the interest of ignoring the parts of that activity that people who enjoy it find enjoyable. A talk show host shitting on how other people spend their time is fucking rich, regardless of who is saying it.

Yeah, it’s really excellent! I know for a lot of folks last gen was really when cinematic games took the fore, but stuff like this and Hitman 1 & 2 are just so, so, good.

It’s quite good! Thinking back, I believe I got mostly Flesh and Steel when I played Dishonored… I don’t know that I’ve used a single power other than Blink in the first one, and I don’t think I’ve killed anyone

BUMP this thread, finished my first run through the game. Hard difficulty as Emily, got Shadow, Clean Hands, and Flesh and Steel. Great, great game.

The comic was part of the "what if the stuff super powered people did was real" wave that probably started with Alan Moore in Watchmen and Miracleman and has continued to some extent since then outside of mainstream, Marvel / DC stuff. There's an extent to which it gets "explained" later in this season, but that's the out-of-character reason.

Watching this now, and one of the guys is talking about how they wrote Karli as a hero who went bad… this whole show is so muddled, I don’t get how the people who made it are saying the things they’re saying about it after watching what ended up being released.

Yeah, true. And I dunno, the MCU does “good guy with pathos…” Pretty badly? It’s hard going back to the first Iron Man, Tony’s such a misogynist and the movie redeems him by having him settle down with his employee? Tony’s probably the guy whose baggage is largely his own and they paper over that into it being a good thing in every movie he’s featured in. Some of the TV shows handle this much better, like Jessica Jones, so I had pretty high hopes for the “prestige” stuff on Disney+ and it’s been… fine. I’ll show up for a “fine” MCU movie, aside from the Avengers flicks they’re usually a tight 2 hours and they’re fun popcorn flicks. And I’m still in on Loiki because it’s Loki, come on, now. But Walker going from beating a guy to death, to getting into a fight with Sam where he could straight up kill him, to getting the nod because he didn’t let a bunch of civilians die is weak fucking tea.
