  1. This one time I will allow people to arm themselves and shoot civilians: Let’s load up some of these fuckers and pew pew pew
  2. The only problem with the sunk cost fallacy is that we haven’t put ENOUGH money into the project.
  3. This is the first one in Hitman 3 on a Hitman 3 map, the previous 2 they’ve done on Hitman 3 have been reruns on legacy maps.
  4. Sexual dimorphism is a thing, I don't know anyone that denies that. At at the highest levels of competition it's magnified because everything is. I think it's still assumed to have more of a role than it does in many areas; people thought women were biologically worse at math for a loooooooooong time. The tennis example is an interesting one; I think the Williams sisters got washed by a man ranked 253 in the world at some point. 253 people better than the Williamses seems like a lot until you realize they're still better than almost every man on the planet who plays tennis.
  5. For shit like billiards and chess, it’s almost like they’re pursuits that have been dominated by men and are historically unwelcoming to women. The majority of miniature painters and wargamers are male, there are no sex based advantages to painting or participating in wargaming.
  6. Van Wilder presents The Hitman’s Wife’s Van Wilder
  7. Read the article, lol. It’s a scrimmage where they weren’t trying. Good lord, if there was a “read the article” sport the men here would get fucking washed.
  8. I don’t think scrimmages and friendlies that involve the USWNT are indicative of anything.
  9. None of the Mass Effect games had “good” combat. The first one was decent, classic RPG combat that was constantly misinterpreted as a shooter because of the perspective, which is understandable. 2 and 3 had passable combat but I dunno that it was ever consistently good. Honestly I’d love to revisit this franchise a la Disco Elysium; focus on the writing, characters, and decisions, and jettison the vanilla combat.
  10. Is there any evidence to back this up aside from one scrimmage which shouldn’t be generalized from?
  11. IIRC it's a lot of fetch quests, some esoteric triggers to start some of the quests, etc. It's been a while.
  12. I read this earlier today. I have no words. I can't fucking imagine.
  13. Yup yup yup. I think I've said it here before, but... When I was 18 my buddy and I ended up giving a girl a ride home after we caught a late movie. This was before cellphones, we lent her change for a phone call but nobody picked up. When I turned onto her street, a cop parked down the road turned on his lights and pulled me over. After giving him my license, he let me know that the girl was reported missing and that she was 14. After confirming with the officer that the two of us didn't do anything physical with her (she was never asked if anything had happened) he asked me to follow them to the police station and let me keep her in my car for the ride. When we got there the officer brought her to her mom, and told us to go into their break room and help ourselves to coffee. When he was done with the girl and her mom, he came to ream me out, not because we had a missing child in my backseat, but because she could have had a gun and shot me. I think about this all the time now, whenever I see someone with darker skin than mine get blown away for way less than transporting a minor who had been reported missing earlier in the day.
  14. True. Black Widow used that face masking tech in Winter Soldier, so you could get cute that way, too. Would be hard to keep the casting a secret though. I dunno that any of the villains left have enough heat to make the reveal really punchy. It being called The Thunderbolts would be a big tell, too. Maybe they’d do something really wild like make a Force Works movie but at the end reveal that it was made up of Doctor Doom, Magneto, and Kraven the Hunter or some shit
  15. Bioshock relies completely on atmosphere and style to get by. It’s got those in spades so it ends up getting by easily, but there’s an awful lot of stuff set up that ultimately doesn’t matter. Splice or don’t splice, it doesn’t matter, who cares! You become a Big Daddy, something the game says is irreversible... the ending ignores this completely, who cares! The weapon balance is bad and you play a lot of Pipe Dream. The game’s presentation is legitimately awesome, though. Bioshock 2 is much better from a gameplay POV, and @Commissar SFLUFAN is correct that Minerva’s Den is the best in the series. The story is... fine, it suffers from making some of the iconic stuff in the first one a bit of an afterthought. Bioshock Infinite... man. There are a few arenas where you really get to cut loose and use all the combat system has to offer, but there are not nearly enough of them and they show up too late in the game. The DLC connects really nicely to the original games, but man, the theme is just so badly realized and the original ending of the game makes little to no sense. It’s a weird fucking game.
  16. Why? This seems needlessly dangerous. Give police officers single action revolvers, you won’t accidentally mistake your taser for your handgun and you only have a few shots that most cops won’t be able to fire quickly. How about indefinite suspension without pay until an independent civilian body reviews the circumstances?
  17. Do police officers have rounds chambered in their weapons at all times? Seems to me like an awful lot has to go wrong for someone to accidentally shoot someone with a firearm vs. a taser.
  18. Infrastructure projects are giving money back to the people ya goober
