  1. The fact that it’s so accessible is a big part of the appeal. The MCU has a lot of winks and nods to the source material which works fine as Easter eggs for comics fans. Spider-Verse is like that for almost 100% of its runtime and it all works better than those individual bits in the MCU, it’s incredible.
  2. If only Matthew specifically addressed servants treating one another poorly and how they’d be treated when the master returns. Again, it boggles the mind that people like MTG believe they have a shot at redemption come the rapture and that they can hide their receipts from the almighty. I have a higher opinion of god’s bookkeeping and I don’t believe in the guy.
  3. For me it’s as close to a perfect movie as I’ve seen in a while. It just does everything right and it drips with style the whole time.
  4. I love how these cowards think so little of their god and demons. I’m on the last boss of Doom Eternal shooting a demon the size of a building and these motherfuckers are out here on these streets seeing Satan in a vaccine. What absolute boobery.
  5. Hmm. I’m sure this list changes all the time. And in no particular order... Blade II Spider-Man 2 Captain America: The Winter Soldier Superman (1978) Hellboy II: The Golden Army Thor: Ragnarok The Dark Knight or Batman Begins (I waffle too much to pick one) Logan Black Panther And obviously the best superhero movie of all time... Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse I might punt the Nolan Batflicks in favor of The Incredibles depending on my mood.
  6. Despite having the most best / greatest possible coverage I could get through my last job, when I broke my leg last year I had to deal with the ambulance that took me to the hospital sending me a bill for $5K+, including drugs I was offered but refused. I had to deal with the hospital sending me a bill for $6K because my provider mistakenly tagged the surgery to get a plate / screws on my bones as an elective procedure. I had to deal with the hospital sending me another bill for $4K because the medical assistant during my surgery wasn’t a participating provider, despite never having met the person or being given an option to select someone else. All of this went away with some phone calls, emails, and exchanges between the hospital and my insurance company. My job is flexible enough that I could spend the time doing that stuff without being out of work. And if for whatever reason, I absolutely had to pay those bills and get reimbursed, I would have been able to do it. My father also spent his whole career in healthcare companies so I was able to ask for his advice on what to say to whom to make sure these things ended up being processed correctly. I’m lucky So I can’t imagine a shift worker doing that, nor the stress it would cause someone to get fifteen fucking grand worth of bills and not know how to make them go away or if they could. Anyone who loves the American healthcare system is suffering from Stockholm syndrome, is wealthy enough to not have to sweat it, or some combination of both.
  7. Thundercats is one of the shows I never went back to. I made the mistake of watching He-Man at some point and YIKES. Does Thundercats hold up at all?
  8. Throw Elon under one of the rockets during launch, it'd solve a lot of problems.
  9. I truly cannot comprehend that these people don’t realize how fucking dumb they look open carrying in a supermarket.
  10. The only time I went far enough in jury duty to be called up to the badge and talk to the judge / attorneys before ultimately being rejected as a juror, I can tell you that some judges aren’t paying attention IRL either.
  11. The show is funnier than I expected! I really like it so far. They’re doing a good job at showing Sam’s struggles as a black man, even an exceptional one. And it’s clear that he and Bucky like one another, but there are things about themselves that the other one just can’t relate to even though they obviously want to. Stan and Mackie have good chemistry and they’re fun to watch. I think they’re doing a good balancing act with new Cap, too. Obviously the government wouldn’t put a pushover in that role and I think the character and actor are walking the line between wanting to show respect to Steve / the shield while also wanting to forge new Cap’s path. The “Thanos was right” squad isn’t super interesting yet, but I like them incorporating black super soldiers into the MCU’s past.
  12. Personally I believe two things are true. 1) Police should be less inclined towards violent solutions in general. I’m in favor of letting some crimes slide in the interest of having fewer George Floyd and Brianna Taylor killings happen. If, “maybe I’ll be sued if I shove this old man to the ground and fuck up his skull,” is what it takes to get a cop to not do that... fine. If it’s what it takes to have the police triple check someone’s address before serving a no knock warrant or tossing a flashbang into someone’s home... good. 2) For as much “anti cop” rhetoric you see online, I believe people in general would be inclined to side with police in court by default. It seems unlikely that eliminating qualified immunity would lead to police being successfully sued en masse. Also this.
  13. I don't know the legal specifics in detail, but qualified immunity prevents government officials from being the target of civil suits while carrying out government work, provided they're not breaking laws / violating rights while doing so. People in favor of allowing qualified immunity to protect police say it'll keep police from hesitating to act, since they won't be afraid of frivolous lawsuits. Opponents to it say it gives police legal protection to shoot first and ask questions later, since they know they won't be able to be taken to civil trial for doing so. There's more to it than that legally, but I think that's the gist.
  14. Got the shipping notification for the Skystrike Academy pack... awwyea
  15. Jessica Walter Dies: Emmy-Winning ‘Arrested Development’, ‘Archer’ Actress Was 80 DEADLINE.COM Jessica Walter, the award-winning actress whose career spanned five decades, passed away in her sleep at home in New York City on Wednesday. RIP to a real one.
  16. It does but I feel like watching it on a Vita would enhance how stupid the whole affair is.
  17. Maybe I’ll bust out my Vita for the Snyderest cut possible.
  18. I watched a random 10 minutes of Zack Snyder’s Justice League: Justice is Grey; This Time It’s Personal / It’s Just Been Revoked I can confirm it looks bad.
  19. Racism was over once I announced I’d have voted for Barry a third time.
