  1. The show is one of the few things that bridges Trump's America and the rest of us. Maybe don't use your close acquaintances as your data sample.
  2. I for one think "That Archspire show with 5 people attending" I went to last year whenever the term Red Carpet is thrown out.
  3. The Lost City of the Monkey God by Douglas Preston. It is an enthralling true story about a team of archaeologists and explorers finding a rumored hidden city in the Honduran jungle using Lidar, then subsequently pounding the ground to go explore it. I'm about halfway through. It starts with some colorful ancient, recent, and modern history and then moves on to the main event which I'm in the middle of now. One of my favorite stories so far is about how they encountered a Fer-de-Lance viper and an SAS commando that was accompanying them trapped it with a snake stick, grabbed it from behind, decapitated it, then stabbed it through the head into the ground because the thing kept trying to attack him.
  4. Skeletonwitch - Devouring Radiant Light - 9/10 I love old Skeletonwitch but my goodness this new direction is incredible. Longer and more thought out songs that allow melody to build and be enjoyed for longer spans of time definitely is not a bad thing. My only complaint about previous Skeletonwitch songs is that they didn't let you bask in their brilliance and were over before you knew it. While definitely slower than they used to be there is one song on here—"Carnarium Eternal"—that's probably their fastest ever, and since the songs are longer they all have their fast moments too, so it's the best of both worlds. I think my favorite song on this album is the longest one, "The Vault". It's got melody, it builds up, goes all out, and winds down and is pretty catchy in some parts.
  5. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2018/07/21/hes-accused-of-killing-someone-in-a-parking-spot-dispute-authorities-say-he-was-standing-his-ground/?utm_term=.71b141021126 Some crotchety old fucktard starts harassing a tired nurse in a parked vehicle with her and her boyfriend's kids. It's a handicap spot and he takes this shit seriously. Boyfriend rushes out of the store and shoves old fucktard away from the car. Old fucktard shoots boyfriend in the chest, killing him. Old fucktard will not be chatged because he stood his ground.
  6. The Equalizer 2 - 2/10 This movie is so bad. Soooo fucking bad. My God. I'm not expecting brilliance from an action movie about a vigilante rideshare driver, but I at least expect it to be fun and it can't even manage that. The movie has no flow, it has a ridiculous protagonist, an obvious villain, and poorly shot action. Meet McCall. The motivational speaking, thug life discouraging, ex special forces Lyft driver. Who also reunites Jewish families that were separated from each other during the Holocaust, cleans up graffiti, makes everybody he ever talked to love him, always manages to pick up the right people for him to dispense justice, and somehow finds time to read a million books and learn a bunch of languages too. He's so spit-shiny perfect that he fails to be interesting in any way. And when your movie kills off literally every other character that your villain could be, but still takes half an hour after that to come out and say it, you're gonna have a bad time.
  7. I'm not up to snuff on my political terminology so please correct me if I'm wrong. But doesn't taking the means of production basically mean communism? Socialism to me means government provided services for the public good.
  8. What about "The Show"? That could be anything from a concert to a TV show or stage production.
  9. I can't believe the complaints about the names. They're fun and/or cheeky. They're fitting.
  10. As a mod I thought you would've remembered this @Pikachu, but the ToS specifically states that all Madden cover reveal threads need to make a joke about a career ending injury in the OP if not the title itself. Bant.
  11. Bezos gets me cheap stuff. He can stay. The Kardashians help to collectively lower the American IQ. They can go. I assumed the question meant actual billionaires; not self proclaimed ones that provide no evidence to the fact.
