  1. This is the single greatest tweet I have ever seen. Twitter should probably just close down now.
  2. And if you are a super duper hyper elitist it goes all the way back to Ride the Lightning. There are people on this Earth that think that was them selling out or something. I think I agree with your rating for Hardwired. There are some killer riffs on that album and I feel like each song is as good as the other which is an impressive feat on a double album. But Kirk's guitar solos are still as bland as they've been since he perma-wah'd his guitar in the 90s and some of the songs go on a bit too long for how comparatively simple they are. Still solid though.
  3. Better, but it still doesn't take me to the last post I read so I still have to go hunting.
  4. In theory I agree with this, but some specific entertainment things appeal to such a small subset of us/the population in general that I don't want to make a million threads about metal albums only Keyser, SimpleG, and myself are going to post in once. And a lot of the posts in any of the ratings threads are older things that won't attract much discussion and can overwhelm the page if posted into individual threads. I like having a few really active threads as opposed to a ton of barely breathing ones.
  5. Actually I changed my mind @Jason @SFLUFAN I think I don't like that single thread with the links. If I go to the threads from that page it takes me to the first post in the thread which will get tedious since you already have to click twice to get to it. That being said I'm fine with at least my thread being unpinned and letting it come and go as it is posted in and forgotten and remembered. Also I think TV shows and movies ratings can be combined into one. Just my opinion though.
  6. I'm fine with what Jason did having a sticky at the top linking to each.
  7. I think they're both on the same level. Toxicity is a bit more mature in terms of production and lyrical themes, but S/T has that incredible raw energy that they never matched again.
  8. I appreciate the callback to Shane Black's lame jokes in the original. Pretty good trailer tbh. Much better than the first.
  9. @number305 Also I can understand not liking anything after '89 since the '90s were a dark time for metal. Due in no small part to your avatar! :P It will never again be as big as it was in those days. But it is more diverse than ever and modern metal is the best the genre's ever been IMO. There's something that can scratch every itch.
  10. No not too harsh at all. Just pointing out that I didn't talk about the lyrics. And that's because lyrics are like the last thing I care about in any form of music. And anybody who was ever a metal fan has criticism hardwired to their brain. None of us are immune!
  11. Are you suggesting we should infringe on this child's inalienable right to wield an instrument of death?
  12. Well I specifically mentioned the elements they take from those bands. Neither of which were lyrics.
  13. She's hot as hell for sure. Just hated her character :P I thought they said she was a paleoveterinarian or something like that. Then two seconds later she's like "I've never seen a dinosaur" so that had me squinting a little.
  14. Except for all the parts where she was onscreen. How do you become a doctor of something without actually practicing the thing you're a doctor of?
  15. This movie is bad. It's Internally inconsistent with its own rules established both in the franchise and the movie itself. Lazy writing abounds and we get both plot surprises that have no real weight and character reveals that have no real meaning. The movie contains part of an adventure flick, part of a political thriller, and part of a haunted house horror romp. None of those develop fully so the entire movie is left feeling half assed. But there are some beautiful shots and cheeky humor that I enjoyed so it's not a total waste.
  16. A lot of nu-metal was bad. Really bad. But Toxicity definitely was not.
  17. Maybe I'll finally get Wolfenstein The New Order.
  18. I already forgot the name of the one game I was vaguely interested in from E3 that wasn't TES VI. Had like a little fox running around in a brightly colored world. Was shown briefly at the MS presser... Does that even come out this year?
