  1. It was like a chain of idiots. Some idiots bring in the explosive. The next idiot starts yelling "terrorists shooting" and causes a panic...On the bright side it wasn't a terrorist attack.
  2. I never caught on to the Avatar hype and still never sat through the whole movie. Is there something in particular about the new movie that is going to be new or groundbreaking?
  3. Yeah those movies seem to have gotten bigger, flashier, and more forgetful. In part 7 I only vividly remember the scene with Vin Diesel holding up the car with his bare hands while Paul Walker is underneath-then jumping said car between buildings. Then the Paul Walker send off at the end. When I think of 8, I think of ice and a submarine. I have another memory in my head with The Rock picking up a drone with a huge gun on it and shooting something. Was that a Fast/Furious movie? can't keep this shit straight.
  4. Man that sounds like a horrible idea. The last couple movies have been so forgetful to me. I barely remember what happens in them. The thought of 3 more is gross haha.
  5. But also.... why bother. When you are the tech giant, you run the show. It's so rare that any meaningful punishment will be handed down to them. It would have to be catastrophic and economic breaking. Credit reporting agencies and health insurance companies can all lose millions upon millions of user data at what cost to them? Offering a few years worth of free credit monitoring? That a majority of people won't sign up for. This new story, while shocking, could just be a drop in the bucket when it comes to tech giants and their screw ups.
  6. Will it eventually turn into cable all over again? We'll have like 2 services that have bought everything up or merged together. And for $40/50/60 a month you get all these shows in one package? Shit.... I realized I'm probably paying close to that now for all the services I have. If I didn't have kids I'd cut all but one or two.
  7. Yeah I read about that. If I remember correctly, every video he makes gets translated to other languages and are all voice acted. Sounds like such a huge undertaking but smart as hell. Take it worldwide for bigger audience. Viewers don't have to read subtitles, they can hear someone speaking in their native language.
  8. I rarely use Twitter and really don't go to Twitter for my news. But I do enjoy the "on the ground/up to the minute" reporting it can provide. Especially all the updates that users here have provided for the Ukraine crisis. Just about anything else though is super annoying. Every post starts with BREAKING: and it's some dumb bullshit. I don't need someone's sarcastic hot take disguised as news either.
  9. As I've gotten older, I feel like I'm only getting smarter, while a lot of people around me have been surprising me with their stupidity or unawareness.
  10. For real. I feel like only a mininmal amount of their content applies to my interests anymore.
  11. Any fight or argument I've had is usually resolved within an hour. There is only so much that can be said before you both start to sound ridiculous.
  12. I remember trying the first game at release, thinking "damn this doesn't feel like Tony Hawk". And then never touched any of them again. Never got into the hype about them. I had a friend who was obsessed with one of them (forget which).
  13. Not falling for this meme shit. But I'm extra weird I guess because the rare times I eat cereal.... I use 2 different cereals everytime. The first quarter of the bowl is always Cheerios (regular or honey nut). The next half of the bowl is the good cereal like Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Then the last quarter of the bowl is the milk. The cheerios prop up the CT Crunch away from the milk, while the cheerios don't get soggy as quickly because they are so dense.
  14. I'm in. Nintendo Switch Sports would be a game for the family.
  15. @Xbob42 I listen to the Fire Escape Cast to get my Dan Ryckert fix. He's not the exact bumbling baffoon from Giantbomb, but it's close. I find myself laughing a lot more during that podcast then I do with Giantbomb or Nextlander (my job allows me to listen to an endless amount of podcasts).
  16. I'm really not surprised there is that report of a chemical weapons attack. With the way things have been going for Russia, of course they would escalate it. Do you think there will be more chemical attacks? If so, what can the world really do to stop it? Lately when I think about Russia, it just feels like they are going to do whatever they want because nukes.
  17. Yeah and I keep hearing about all the shootings just across the river in Harrisburg. I read last year the city of Harrisburg had 14 homicides. Only 4 months into 2022 and so far they are already up to 10.
  18. Earlier this week we got word of an early morning shooting in our area. About 5 minutes from our house. Didn't think much of it. That night my wife got a call from a friend that said Jessica (who my wife had been friends with since middle school) had been shot and killed in her own home in a murder-suicide. Long story short, Jessica and her husband had some issues, they separated for a short time, and Jessica decided to try dating another man. After a couple months she split with him and recently got back with her husband. On Wednesday morning a little after 6am, the ex came to her house, killed Jessica, shot her husband, and then turned the gun on himself. The husband is in the hospital expected to recover. Jessica has 2 teenage boys and a 7 year old daughter who were home at the time. Probably just barely getting out of bed to get ready for school. Brings tears to my eyes and makes me fucking sick to my stomach to even imagine what they are going through. I wanted to post her gofundme here. If you can't donate it's totally fine, but if you could share the link with others it could be a big help. She did not have a life insurance policy. This is also my call to all of you, that if you have a family and have never checked into life insurance, its really not that expensive in the grand scheme of things. The world is getting crazier by the day. As much as I appreciate a service like gofundme, it doesn't always bring in life changing amounts for everyone.
