  1. That sucks for them. They do really good reviews, and they also do about as many RT and DLSS tests as any other publication (because there's only ~5 worthwhile applications of this tech), so WTF is Nvidia on?
  2. Who's in charge of all of these? Feige? Favreau? Filoni? These guys have won my trust with The Mandalorian. I'd like to think they would crossover Andor with Rebels, but the tone appears to be completely different and isolating. Obi-wan force-projects his voice, constantly whispering "high ground". But what it will probably be about is how Ben found out Vader was Anakin. He has to assume at the end of ROTS that Anakin died, and even Asohka in Rebels didn't know who Vader was until she made close contact. So I predict Obi-Wan will be in full stealth, research, spy mode, and at some point is going to be tip-toeing around Vader like a mouse hiding from a cat.
  3. I was literally whooping and clapping during the entire last act of this episode. Sonic. Fucking. Charges. This is a show that brings Star Wars fans together.
  4. Yeah, I can agree ROS and TFA tried to copy but had not idea how to tie its story together, while TLJ adds depth and new ideas onto the elements it tried to copy. I think the most egregious oversight Abrams had in writing ROS as a follow-up to TLJ is his neglect to acknowledge the questions Johnson raised about the nature of the Force, the Sith, and the Jedi.
  5. I do have to wonder if, when looking at the totality of similarities from the entire ST->OT, if Disney had any kind of strong input and forced their way. While differing in execution, you can easily see that ANH:TFA::ESB:TLJ. TLJ/ESB riff-offs: Chase sequence Up-and-coming prodigy learns from a quirky master Bad person wants good person to join them in ruling the galaxy White stuff on a barren planet, good guys in a bunker. And even though ROS tried to do everything and the kitchen sink, they managed to resemble ROTJ loosely: Both manage to fit a desert planet into the first act Both visit the Endor system Both end in a fight with Palpatine, with a giant space battle overhead. As much as Lucas got shit for his clip where he said the prequels "rhyme" the OT, he didn't copy and paste the OT like the sequels blatantly did.
  6. Fuck yeah I'm stoked for some Rogue Squadron action. My absolute favorite moment in TFA is Poe leading the defense of Maz's cantina, and we get it from Finn's p.o.v. "That's one hell of a pilot!" Boy do I wish the movies would have been more like the Jedi Knight games as you proposed, and I absolutely agree that TFA severely limited the direction of this trilogy. WE could have gotten a mirror of the Original Trilogy actually. In which the OT showcased an all-empowered evil Empire trying to stomp out the secret and growing good Rebellion, the ST could have showcased a newly empowered Republic (which we never got to see at all) fighting off a growing, hit-and-run terrorist faction of fascists - basically show us the fancier movie version of the Empire remnants that The Mandalorian is showing us right now.
  7. And the common folk are eating it up. The argument has already shifted from fraudulent to "diluted" votes, said with such earnestly these people don't realize they're advertising their ignorance of democracy. And people are also cheering the fact the Supreme Court will hear the case... which hasn't been determined yet, right?
  8. That was certainly how you redeem and validate Boba Fett's (on-screen) reputation.
  9. Yes, the extra threads provide a huge boost and give you more consistent frametimes.
  10. It was the first one I tried and the best technical showcase I own, and didn't realize it was on PS+. Now about half my disc games are on PS+ after the collection was added.
  11. I've read that vertical alignment does produce less vibration. I can only assume since the horizontal stand is in contact with both the solid wood desk and the plastic shell there is just no where for that vibration to go, and in vertical mode the stand doesn't touch the shell plus the drive is oriented differently to minimize vibration. I can't really put my system in vertical mode right now. I can live with the noise as it only happens when copying a disc to the internal drive. Once it finishes copying the data it doesn't vibrate the shell. In the meantime I'll try to adjust the stand, perhaps there's a sweet spot, and then try to put a cloth/rubber mat under it to dampen vibration. I knew I'd find a use for old ass mousepads sooner or later.
  12. There just isn't enough room for 2nd breakfast on those discs.
