General Gaming The Cyberpunk Gameplay Discussion Thread
Moa replied to skillzdadirecta's topic in The Spawn Point
So I have about 18 hours in this game now, and it is pretty fucking great. I had tempered my expectations after the initial reports of bugs, and I did have about 10 hard crashes on day one, but since the most recent patch and driver update I haven't had any significant bugs. -
The latest patch has bumped my experience from playable to enjoyable. GTX 1080 Ryzen 1700 system btw.

It's a brave stance I know but I like the hacking puzzle. -

The way you lean around cover and corners feels really really good. It's functional, intuitive, and also not compulsory. -

Yeah, the guns feel pretty good, especially in that sequence mentioned earlier. I'd held off on spending most of my points, but I now feel pretty strongly about specializing in pistols and shotguns. I have about 8 hours into the game, and I'll admit that the first two days I was not really feeling the game, but it's starting to click for me today. I think a lot of that is finding "acceptable" settings to play on. -
I'm talking more about the tenor of the discussions, while plenty of people didn't like aspects of TW3, there wasn't anything resembling "controversy" surrounding the game at release.

I'm mostly talking about in the AAAA tier budget/hype sector. A ton of nut blowing games have come out in the last few years, it just seems like the largest and most ambitious projects are repeatedly falling short of expectations. I think with the exception of BotW those games didn't quite reach the level of anticipation as the ones I mentioned, although I don't own a PS4 so wasn't following those games super closely prior to release. God of War definitely blew people away, but from my recollection a lot of people were surprised at how good it ended up being.

It's kind of a bummer that all the massive games that have come out in the last few years have been disappointing to controversial. RDR2, TLOU2, Death Stranding, and now Cyberpunk. I could be forgetting some games, but it feels like the Witcher 3 was actually the last time a huge AAA game released and blew everyone's nuts off. Never once have I looked one of these clowns up and been disappointed.

Yeah, this is obviously a critical issue that should be CDPR's top priority for fixing, but acting like that sequence was put into the game maliciously is laughable.

So how big is this game going to actually be? The preload is 60 gb, and I have ~120 on my SSD, am I safe?

I'm surprised they managed to attract a good actor for the role. -

Man the takes in this thread are depressing. People in the scene have dedicated years of their lives to the game and the community surrounding it, but everyone on the outside wants to latch onto the sexual abuse incidents and cheer Nintendo on for trying to stifle a community that is passionate about their games.

The 360/PS3 era redefined gaming and represented a monumental leap from the previous generation. The PS4/XB1 era refined things but at least within the AAA sphere there was no Halo 3 sized leap forward. That said indie gaming really came into its own in the last generation and the vast majority of my favorite games of the last decade have been indies, so I probably should have voted for PS4/XB1.
