General Gaming What is the Best Assassin's Creed Game?
Paperclyp replied to AbsolutSurgen's topic in The Spawn Point
Uncharted, COD4, Mass Effect, The Orange Box, Halo 3 for sure. Maybe Galaxy? But I didn’t have a Wii. Kingdom hearts was the equivalent for me in high school. Super hyped for it and then just never had the money at the right time and never got into the series. Maybe dodged a bullet there lol. -

I did too, but November 2007 was pretty stacked and I just never got to it (I’m positive it was outranked by other games in my budget) then 2 was out and before you knew it there were 12 AC games and it’s just like Jesus Christ who has the time. -

I have never touched an AC game. I was so hyped for the original but was a poor college kid at the time. -
Gaming Accessories Microsoft Faces Lawsuit Over Drift Issues

That’s the frustrating thing to me. It’s brand spanking new. I would be a little more forgiving if it were heavily used. And two in a row. -

I have a dual shock 4 brand new that drifts vertically. I sent it back for a new one and the new one does the same damn thing. Pisses me off and I honestly don’t trust buying a new PS4 controller anymore. Probably irrational because when I search for the issue it does not seem to be common in the slightest. -
I don't know if this is related, but weirdos fucking hate The Last of Us because Ellie's a lesbian and is not sexualized. They will claim they don't like her because her design is boring though. Seen a lot of that shit on twitter. Lot of the "Rinoa's shirt covers a tiny bit more of her skin, so this is censorship" crowd cheering for this game to fail.

I wish they’d put FF6 on Switch. I don’t even care if it’s not part of the SNES online app. -

I was alive and aware of Duke Nukem and never had any reverence for it. Lol'd with a buddy who showed me a few of the jokes, which we were the appropriate age for. I dunno, looking back I think if you were like in your 20s and thought that game was funny maybe that's kind of embarrassing? Maybe I'm not giving time and place enough credit though. Just seems like the only people who should have been laughing at that were younger teenagers who shouldn't be playing it... I always felt that way about Conker as well. But I'm probably just a spoil sport. -

I remember the reveal, but I think in terms of what the OP is asking, it just doesn't hang. It was an exciting announcement, but I would bet very few recall the game without someone mentioning it. -

I've barely heard of Deep Down. -

I agree @Spork3245 I don't think any have been mentioned yet that really qualify. I don't think this does either but if enough years go by I think Bloodborne remake or 2 may reach that status (though I think we're gonna see a sequel announced in the next year or two). Not really the same thing but sort of in the same realm is a new NCAA football game. Maybe Silent Hills? -
General Gaming Update: Jason Schreier is joining Bloomberg News

I guess I don’t really listen to the man speak very much, I love his reporting, but he doesn’t strike me as an interesting personality to listen to talking about games? -

He starting a new site with some others. Smart move by him financially (I presume). -
General Gaming VGC: Capcom is working on a Resident Evil 4 remake
Paperclyp replied to SaysWho?'s topic in The Spawn Point
RE: 0 was actually pretty good IMO. Pretty standard stuff for a traditional RE game with some twists like the second character actually fighting in real time in the room with you, but I recall really enjoying it. I’m pretty sure the recent releases of REmake and RE 0 give you options for “normal” controls if that was a hangup. Not positive because I actually like the tank controls. -

I thought with 2 they did an incredible job of capturing the feel of the original while making it more accessible to modern audiences. Like it’s hard for me to imagine them doing a better job pragmatically I guess, not to say it’s perfect. I love the original for reference and beat it 4 times last summer lol. I haven’t played 3 since the reception has been a lot more mild, but I actually really like original 3. I like 2, 1 remake, and code Veronica all better than 4, but I’d like to see what they do with 4. -

4 is pretty widely considered one of the best games ever. @Bloodporne is in the minority on the RE2 remake, most people loved it. I don’t buy the idea they can’t do 4 justice. Hell I’d love for them to cut some of that game down, it was too long. -

I’m working through Morrowind, Doom, and Animal Crossing right now but I am so tempted to buy this as well. -

The backgrounds I believe are the backgrounds of the original game. The character models in battle look...great actually, which accents how low rez the backgrounds are. But it’s not like OG FF7 looks good nowadays. The main draw is the time speed up option. It makes any grind of this game so much more enjoyable. You can also click a button to fully heal and bring your limit breaks up if that is your bag as well. But the speed up option has made those late 90s JRPGs a pleasure to play through again. I recently 100%’d FF8, and I bet I did it in less than 40 hours.
