Because the only other option is the slow decay towards there being no Palestine at all. More of the Arab people in the region will become Israelis over time and enjoy the benefits of living in a liberal democracy.

The only way the Palestinians can actually move forward with building a lasting nation is to agree to the terms the Israelis are offering. They have rejected better deals and the deals keep getting worse because the position of Israel keeps getting better. There is no reason to believe the Israeli position won’t continue to improve over that of the Palestinians.

But again, the leaders of the Palestinians aren’t the ones suffering due to rejecting every deal offered for decades now, so what do they care?

If enough Arabs become Israelis, wouldn't Israel eventually just... become Palestine?

Which is exactly why Israel does NOT want the "One-State Solution" which is ironically the most advantageous one for the Palestinians in the long-term as demographics dictate that the Jewish character of Israel would cease to exist within a couple of generations.

Israel wants a rump Palestinian "state" that they will control in all but name only, but without actually absorbing it into Israel.

Israeli Arabs have significantly different views than Palestinian Arabs, so, not via the current way in which the Arab population is going in Israel.

If the Palestinians were to all be made Israelis over night, this would indeed be the case.

This is one of those times where a piece of info lives without context in the back of your subconscious.

Israel in complete control of the Palestinian state and its military would never allow any of those Palestinians to migrate into Israel proper. There's a reason Jordan came out against this. It would lead to more refugees as this Palestine would be little more than a penal colony.

20% of Israel’s population are Arabs, much of those being naturalized Palestinians. I don’t know why you believe Palestinian Arabs aren’t able to migrate legally into Israel.

Those Israeli Arabs who identify as Palestinians are largely people whose territory became part of Israel in 1948 rather than emigres from the West Bank or Gaza Strip.

Sure, but it’s not exclusively so. They are related though, as family reunification has been the primary mechanism for immigration from those areas. That’s actually why the super conservative Israelis passed laws to limit family reunification in the last 20 years. You basically have to prove you and loved ones are supporters of the Israeli way of life. Many who wish to live in Israel move first to Jordan and then to Israel.

So whenever someone brings up Hunter Biden’s qualifications to be on the board of a Ukrainian gas company, I’m just going to mention Jared Kushner, who’s only qualifications to negotiate peace in the Middle East seems to be he married Ivanka Trump (still can’t convince me those kids are actually his though, that guy looks like a eunuch) and Netanyahu used to sleep in his bed.

Given the circumstances being dealt with, why should Israel do anything beyond what is being offered this time?

Similarly, what do the Palestinians get by rejecting the deal being offered? Are they better off or worse off?

Yes, when someone has you by the collar and threatening to knock your lights out you are morally deficient for refusing to kiss their boots to avoid it. If you don't kiss the boots, gosh what else is supposed to happen other than you get what's coming to you?

This doesn’t answer any of the questions asked. How about just this one: Are the Palestinians better or worse off by accepting the deal?
