I was just looking at trophy numbers on psn.

33% of playstation owners have beaten Mimic Tear.

38.4 beat Radahn

45.3 beat Royal Night Loretta

28% Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella.

28% Morgott

21.7% beat Rykard.

Those are crazy numbers.

Yeah man people are playing the shit out of this game. Let's remember those stats are only weeks after this massive game came out too. I was on last night and every single person on my PSN list outside of two I think were playing Elden Ring, it was really funny looking. Even my CoD Bro friends from my boxing club are playing it.

This game’s quest design is so dumb. I found some lady who was all, “don’t get too close to me, I have the scarlet rot and I refuse to wear a mask because I’m a free thinker.” And I’m all excited because I’ve got SO MANY pink puff pastry in my inventory that cure scarlet rot. Can I give one to her? No, this bitch listens to Joe Rogan and refuses to take medicine that works so I have to get some dick in a shack to fix a golden needle that I found in a fucking tub of scarlet rot juice so she can stab herself with The Lands Between equivalent of horse paste? This fucking game I swear to god.

Yeah it’s obtuse af, definitely not sure if I’m on the right path still, but I think I’m generally in the right direction. What would have made me second guess where I was is being level 65 and I’m assuming you haven’t beat one of the main great rune bosses and gotten a great rune yet, and at least from my understanding that is the main point is to collect the 6 of them and become elden lord or whatever. Probably why you are so high level for hours played too, you are picking up hundreds-1k for enemy’s at a time when that really boosts you.

Does Margit drop one of those? I beat him, went to the castle right beyond him and bounced off some knight in that castle a few times so I went somewhere else.

LMAO that quest. What’s funny is it sounds like somehow you didn’t even come across part that made it more confusing for me

on my game I got the needle because I beat the “invasion” red shadow version of her and picked it up off her compose. I’m assuming you killed her then got it back later maybe?

No, but he is the first main obstacle since you typically need to beat him to proceed, you were on your way to the first one before you turned around yeah.

WTF lol

Spoiler

There’s a guy in a shack near the border of the swamp and Caelid who asked me to find a golden needle way before I found Typhoid Mary of whoever the fuck that was. I gave him the needle and he said he’d need time to fix it. Found the lady w/scarlet rot later on, exhausted her dialog, went back to check on the needle randomly, he gave it to me and said that they lady with scarlet rot might want it (despite not having spoken to him about her), then I went back to her and she took the needle. Now she’s talking about going on a quest, I assume to ask questions to medical professionals about why pink puff pastry that causes impotence or something, who fucking cares.

EDIT - oh it was on some soldier boss in the middle of the swamp

Ah I found her first then I found him afterwards so it probably played out a little different, actually sounds slightly less obtuse your way.

I just got to the first boss Margit faster than I was expecting. I'm only level 20 doing a strength/dex build and got knocked around pretty good. Just curious what level everyone was when they beat?

Also seems like the Gatefront Ruins in front the of the castle entrance is a pretty decent place to farm for the time being?

I beat it I think lvl 19 with hybrid build.  I read most beat it around lvl 20.  Are you using your jelly friend?

Yeah this is the one quest so far where someone said, “go here and get this thing” and it was actually there. Normally it’s all, “I’m sworn to protect the sacred sword in this castle,” while Mr. Man ignores the fact that I’m waving it in front of his stupid face, great work protecting the castle you dick, it’s overrun with monsters dancing on a bonfire of corpses but don’t bother getting up.

The spirit jellyfish ashes? I haven't. I got it (I think) from the girl in the shed right after you enter the castle grounds, but had no idea what is was lol.

I’ve sacrificed so many spectral friends to distract bosses while I murder them. They’re the real MVPs.

They’re super helpful. Not as helpful as a human summon, but if you’re at the right level casting the right one at the right time can really swing a fight.

They do have an advantage in that they don't increase boss HP.

Also after 30 hours of bullshit messages about breakable walls… I’ve found 2. Both of the messages about them had tons of messages around them calling that post a lie. OLO

I always play Souls games offline the first time around just because the messages annoy me. It just clutters things up and there's too many goofy ones.

I want to rellay Dark Souls 3 because it doesn't feel the same without invasions, messages, and online coop.

While I’ve got the attention of people who have played the game and, unlike me, actually advanced the main quest and killed something you’re supposed to…

Is there a thing where you get warped to a small segment of the map that had a giant by a site of grace? There’s what looks to be a platform by a huge elevator with a switch that you can’t pull, and a teleporter next to the giant that also doesn’t work? Am I supposed to be able to do anything there other than kill the giant?

Are you talking about the Divine Bridge site of grace? There's a giant laying down when you teleport there? I think it's from a treasure chest, right?

If this is it, ignore the rest for now but try to take the giant down, he gives you a great Talisman and a weapon. Giants are easily staggered by attacking their legs which opens them up to a critical attack.

I kicked the shit outta mimic tear last night. Wolves stub locked him from healing then bathed him in waves of flame from my Sword of Night and Flame 😎

You’ll activate the platform that goes up there later.

Interesting. I’ve only played around with the wolves, I should try more of them apparently.

Yeah, I killed that guy and got the loot, I couldn’t tell if the teleporter or lever was bugged since nothing else I’ve seen in the game has been a dead end like that.

Sweet.

EDIT - I’ll say the one gameplay complaint so far is that critical hits seem dicey. Sometimes I am lined up for a sneak attack or for an attack on a weak point after the stagger and I just do a normal attack. Most of the time it works, but sometimes it doesn’t and I cannot tell why. On random mobs it’s mildly annoying, it’s gotten me killed during a couple boss fights.

while i got my mimic tear ashes to +8 its definitely not as OP as some of the videos pre-nerf showed but it has still done some good work for me on certain encounters.

also got my bloodfang up to +9 i just wish (unless ive missed it) to know the bleed buildup on enemies before you can see the obvious proc

I have it at plus 10 and its damn pretty good. The AI lets it down if anything.

I can't even tell you if this makes an actual difference but I always push forward and R1 and I never really miss it that I can think of. Like I walk into the critical hits sort of?
