I’m now another statistic.

Just tested positive for Covid-19. Sad as it puts a huge amount of pressure on the people I work with and I’m worried about giving it to my family.

Plus side, I’ll be working from home for the next week or so (unless I feel horrendous) and I can teach my class from home.

I've been hacking up a lung for the better part of 3 weeks and it's somehow *not* COVID, so... Mask on, cough drops on deck, and back to work I go every day. #murica

Couldn’t be the smoke filled work environment you have been in for years.

Where do you live that you can smoke indoors? Portland banned smoking indoors in like 2008. Even New Orleans banned smoking indoors.

I pretty much associate indoor smoking with rural dive bars and casinos.

Ok. Let me rephrase.  Do you smoke cigarettes? Weed? Vape?

After two years of this fun, my wife finally tested positive on Monday, and I today. We both have shots and boosters and she is on antivirals so we should be good in a few days. Not a lot of symptoms for me, my wife though is has a pretty bad cough and head ache.

I'm genuinely curious about your reasoning behind getting the shot if it did nothing for you?

Keeps the medical bills and, y'know, dieing at bay. At least 99.999% of the time, and no that one in 10,000 or whatever time that someone died after getting the vaccine doesn't prove the vaccine doesn't work. If someone broke into your house while it was locked you wouldn't assume your lock was pointless, so you might as well stop using it.

My shoes fell apart after I wore them. I'm going to stop wearing shoes. They are a scam and don't work, bare feet work just fine. I did my own research.

Thanks for the laugh but I didn't ask you.

Instead of being really sick I had cold-like symptoms for 2 days. Compare that too: hacking cough, fever, headache, loss of taste and smell…I’m glad I’ve had my 2 vaccines and one booster,

So you had a cold?

I tested positive for Covid with a PCR (and an LFT every day to see when I can get back to work), but it feels like having a cold, at least for (vaccinated, non-vulnerable) me.

I’m not vaccinated. Why did it feel the exact same way for me?

You were lucky? Had a less severe strain? Aren’t clinically vulnerable? Have a good immune system?

I’m not an immunologist so I couldn’t really tell you I’m afraid.

Sooo many experts. Why did I even go to school?

So defensive. I’m not claiming to be a expert, unlike you.  Just saying what I personally experienced. Shouldn’t you be running out to get that 4th shot?

And I’ll get a 4th shot when I need it. Just had my booster 3 months ago. I have no issue with vaccines and they did me no harm.

And I’ll continue to have zero shots and be exactly like you. lolololol
