Of all the games to never get a second look in, Twin Snakes always seemed an odd one.

I ended up bringing one of my copies of MGS from my parents back home to play (as if that will ever happen…) and it made me look at a review for Twin Snakes. Then the current selling price.

Apart from the legal nightmare of a Silicon Knights game, using a Konami property for a Nintendo system, it does feel this very much came and went.

I’ve read some criticism that the first person view can break the game a bit, though even still, surely someone, somewhere would be able to work out how to re-release the game.

I imagine the licensing for it would be a nightmare to navigate between silicon knights and Konami.

Does Silicon Knights even exist anymore? I think the rights might be solely between Konami and Nintendo.

Regardless, the MGS game that gets overlooked the most is the Game Boy Color version (known as Ghost Babel outside North America). That game is legit and it's a shame it never got a re-release.

Twin Snakes was crazy polarizing on release so I’m not surprised it didn’t get a remaster or port. It’s personally my favorite MGS version though and I would love just a modern porn with higher res and 60fps (if it wasn’t already, I can’t remember).

Fake edit: actually caught that typo but decided to leave it

The Dolphin side of the force is a pathway to many abilities some would deem to be unnatural.

That's kinda what I mean - sometimes when those companies dissolve the rights of stuff get all put in some legal grey area. Plus I think Kojima maybe hated twin snakes? Maybe I'm remembering that wrong, and I guess it doesn't matter anymore.

But I suspect part of it is they are rumored to be remaking MGS anyway (or was that actually confirmed? I can't keep track anymore), so why waste their time with TS.
