The voice actress for Melia implied that a third Xenoblade Chronicles game is in development. We can confirm that's accurate.

Takes place in the far future after XC2 with some returning characters

Might as well hold off release until Switch 2 since XB2 runs like ass on OG.

Thoroughly enjoyed XB2 myself, flaws aside.  One of the best final few hours of a game that I can remember.  You get even more mileage if you beat the first game.

But yes, the performance issues are bad and, the random elements suck and the character design can be cringe.

Yeah, hopefully it takes place in the far future after XC2 in a world where shit doesn’t run 360p/15fps anymore.

Still haven't gone back to XC2 because it runs like such asssss. And they really hammed up the titty trash for maximum neckbeard appeal. Then the pseudo-gacha system where you're hatching random bullshit. JUST MAKE A FUCKING NORMAL GAME AND MAKE IT RUN WELL GODDAMMIT.

I've had XC2 in my backlog for a few years now, but given how much I hear about how it runs pretty poorly even while docked I kind of want to wait until a Switch Pro or Switch 2 with BC to play it.

Still this series is pretty great, so the news of a XC3 is enticing.

Another switch game for the next switch or emulation.

Nah, big anime titties are great. Japan really needs to work on ass tho. How they gonna make a character with a pancake ass but watermelon tits? Just ain't right. Buff dudes and hot babes is how games should be.

The anime titties in XC2 are over-the-top to the point where it looks like a particularly slow and horny 12 year old designed them. Ridiculous balloon tits are just obnoxious bait for horny dipshits. It's not even sexy, it's just stupid looking, which means the only way you can realistically look at the character model like Pyra is that she was designed specifically to be spankbait for kids, and I say for kids because she also looks like a colorful Saturday morning cartoon/anime character. There's no sex appeal, just bad design.

The blades were designed by different artists. Some of them were beyond awful, but some of them were also really good.

XC2 runs fine docked. The resolution is bad in handheld, but it's not hard to adjust to.

But the game's technical shortcomings are really no reason to skip it. The world design is amazing, and the soundtrack is incredible. Better than anything in the past 10 years easily. The combat system, menus, and UI are all convoluted as hell, but it's so satisfying once the battle system clicks.

And I never understand character design complaints. It's an overly earnest anime story with all the tropes, who cares what these characters look like. Just embrace the cheesiness and how over the top it is. I don't think anyone made that big boobed Blade with an ounce of seriousness. Sure it's completely egregious but you have to laugh at the absurdity.

You can also just not use her, like I did for like 70% of the blades in this game.

As someone who agrees with all of its faults, I really do wish they weren’t there, so that people would talk about everything else.  It’s a fantastic game that’s much more essential than X was, and a worthy successor to the first.

Power to you if you can look past the technical faults in handheld. The early area where you are on the airship where you go inside and outside, it gave me such a headache.  It’s not playable to me, which is unfortunately becoming more common for Nintendo games as the Switch ages. It is why I was so hopeful for the Pro.

Has any here played Torna?  I heard the performance is a little better?

Considering giving it a shot now that the Switch Pro dream is pretty much dead.

I never finished it, but it is. It doesn't hurt that they seemed to have reigned in the scope a little to help.

Strange enough, the early areas are probably the worst performing.  I wasn’t nearly as bothered by the issues as the game went on.  I also played docked most of the time.

Hard disagree. Framerate was terrible throughout, start to finish. It made BotW look like it ran well.

No, it absolutely does not run fine docked. And its damn hard to get past its horrible character design. And yes, I did beat it.

I miss Xenosaga KOS-MOS.

Frankly, I miss Xenosaga. It was much better than this.

No. I loved Xenosaga for what it was at the time, but these Xenoblade games simply play better. That doesn't take into account that Xenosaga 2 felt like the longest game ever made. I know these Xenoblade games are actually longer, but the old Xenosaga games felt longer with the way they were padded out. There are some aspects of older JRPGs that make then hard to go back to and Xenosaga sort of rubs them all in your face.

Runs much better docked than portable.  Performance that way was roughly equivalent to my experience of BoTW on the Wii U.  Which is about the edge of what I can tolerate.

For reference, I quit Hyrule Warriors because I couldn't take it.

And yes, I'll stand by the framerate / resolution dips / sharpening issues at the beginning being the worst.  There's places later on where the resolution can dip in a big way (ie: lots of battle effects), but nothing is as consistently ugly as Torigoth.

I played docked. Except for when im away for work, i have no use for handheld gaming. And yes, HW is 100% worse, but that doesn't make XBC2 any better. It was terrible throughout the whole game. It's an otherwise good game, but it runs terrible.

I played the trilogy a couple of years ago (along with Xenogears), and again, hard disagree. Yes, of course it has problems inherent to the era, but overall they are better games than XBC, which are merely good games, imo.

I was more disappointed in how much of a step down it was technically from X on Wii U.  That didn't make much sense at all to me.

I beat it too.  The later locations were definitely more attuned to the hardware.  It also gets more corridor heavy granted.
