  1. It’s not great - but it’s not unplayable based on what DF were showing and my wife (who will be playing it first) will not care either way. I might hold off (as sort of mentioned) until we get a PS5 and a new TV next summer to give it a go, but...so long as it doesn’t crash, doesn’t screen tear, mostly looks OK - it’s fine - hopefully to be patched to be a resounding OK.
  2. I look forward to my wife experiencing that in two days time. As for the controversy, rather than it be reported to me, I’ll see the issues in game for myself and make a judgement on CDPR following that - rather than before.
  3. PS4 Legion is broken and Valhalla, from my interpretation of reviews etc was by the numbers and a bit boring. Other.s may see it differently but Ubi are just a 7/10 company for me.
  4. This seems like a great game if you’ve managed to keep on top of every major release for the last few years as it does seem decent. For me though, there are literally tens of better games that I can play over this, that have reviewed better. Still though, glad it’s not created a trifecta of shit I thought it would with Legion and Valhalla.
  5. I've been alternative between Super Mario Odyssey which continues to be wonderful and Rocket League, which is great in handheld mode. Definitely see myself moving most of my gaming onto the Switch for the foreseeable -
  6. After the magic ability of upper-management to condense a lot of information into an e-mail, it'll be interesting to hear whether the meetings could have been condensed in a similar way or, otherwise shortened to half the size.
  7. I’m genuinely shocked how many don’t invert, I frequently make fun of my wife for not changing the setting.
  8. I've always felt that vertical movement felt best when the characters head was being pulled upwards by an imaginary string, rather than lifted from the chin. I think it comes from the fact to look up, I tilt my head backwards and lean, rather than force it upwards.
  9. Super Mario Odyssey: there’s something great about getting an open Mario game as your first game for a console. It’s also fantastic. I’ve also had a go at Super Mario Bros. 35 and downloaded Fortnite, Rocket League and the SNES VC and still have Ring Fit Adventure in the box. So far, I really like the switch and may grab one more game before Christmas to keep things ticking over.
  10. It has arrived! Technically I could leave work at 3:30pm, but I've got so much to prepare I can't really do that - so I'll be home at 6:30pm instead, play with my daughter and then...maybe, give the Switch a go.
  11. My sadness that despite purchasing everything at 1pm on a Friday, it's not 7pm on Saturday and my order is showing as 'unshipped'. I might be asking for that £9.99 delivery fee back.
  12. And it’ll the the only ending to the series that we’ll get.
  13. Thanks everyone so far. I've got Links Awakening on a Christmas list, so hopefully I will get that and I noticed that I was credited some money for my purchase, so grabbed 3 months of Nintendo Online, so I'll get Tetris 99 tomorrow (along with trying out some of the SNES games). Fire Emblem is definitely on the list and I'll have a peruse of the Indie games available and grab a few.
  14. Like all Nintendo fans, I was interested in the Switch from the first announcement trailer, but I've never been one to get a console at release, so I initially planned on waiting. Then, due to a wedding, returning to higher education and having a baby, the idea of getting one kept being pushed back in favour of more sensible things (a new bathroom, fixing the car, paying for the dogs vets bills etc). But it finally felt like the right time to get one - now I have a full time job, the house is in a reasonable state, most things are taken care of - and I was hoping there would be a few Black Friday deals to help out. Well, in the UK at least, that didn't happen. There are a few games, but for the console the only thing that was reduced was the number of console actually available. In fact, due to national lockdown, there wasn't actually anywhere within 50 miles that I could go and collect one after buying online. So, I've opted for the classic next day delivery and tomorrow I should hopefully be the recipient of a Neon Switch, Ring Fit Adventure and Super Mario Odyssey. Now the main point of the thread, what games should I be looking at straight away? I've already played (and nearly finished) Breath of the Wild on Wii U and I have my eyes on Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8 (despite playing a huge amount again on the Wii U), Luigi's Mansion 3 and maybe Splatoon 2...but what else should I add to my list?
  15. Took me long enough to clock it, I saw Sabaton support Dragon Force is 2010 and they were awesome. Definitely live that dream. In an ideal world, live that dream in Germany.
  16. Just to add on, nothing like two months of being incorrectly taxed so receiving a rebate of about £500.
  17. I'll begin my thread by apologising to those that are not in employment, but otherwise wish they could be - I do understand how frustrating an experience that is to live through and I hope it works out for you. At nearly 31, I've finally found a vocation (not just a job) that I love. After 2 and a half years of planning, studying and - horrific to say - actual hard work, I'm a qualified, employed teacher, teaching a class of 7 and 8 year olds. I love my job so much. I love the fact it takes a load of work to run properly. I love that I can get better every day and I can be responsible for that. I love the fact that it comes with a legitimate progression, that isn't overly dictated by the politics that dogged office work. I love that it's really hard job, that's only made easier by working at it, preparing properly and being part of a supportive work environment. I also love the fact it's routed in learning and that seeing children learn something, or try hard, or even when they fail and need help - is so much more rewarding than my previous life as a manager of a team of adults that worked for money - not because they enjoyed their job (much the same as me). So, for me - I'm very fortunate. There are obviously hard days (very hard days in fact) and balancing this new career with an 11 week old baby, a desire to stay fit, eat well, spend time with my Wife, walk my dog and have some kind of leisure time - as it stands right now, I wouldn't change anything.
  18. It feels wrong that PS4 owners can’t benefit from that considering many of those games haven’t even made it to PS+ yet, but are certainly in the right catchment.
  19. BDSM is a variety of often erotic practices or roleplaying involving bondage, discipline, dominance and submission, sadomasochism, and other related interpersonal dynamics. Given the wide range of practices, some of which may be engaged in by people who do not consider themselves to be practising BDSM, inclusion in the BDSM community or subculture often is said to depend on self-identification and shared experience. Oh. My. God.
