I really want one of these even though I know I would probably play with it for an hour or two and then it would end up in a drawer.

This is a super complicated topic I have a lot of thoughts on, but not even time or mental energy to get on about now. I don't disagree with you and yes, as a straight white suburban male I do indeed live in a different version of America. I can both be aware of that and still have opinions on things. Sometimes we're too eager to dismiss people because of silly things. Not saying you're dismissing me, but the last thing people want to hear, even if it's sometimes perfectly reasonable... is that they are speaking from a position of privilege, and therefore their opinions matter less. That said, sometimes it is very true. I always do my best to listen and learn and try and take it all in.

It's very rare for players picked past the 2nd or 3rd round to become impactful NHL players. There are a few outliers, sure, but it is not common. Most 4th rounders who make it to the NHL end up as 4th line grinders or interchangeable depth players. The vast majority of NHL players were picked in the first 2 rounds. (41% of NHLers were 1st round picks, 17% second rounders) I think some sports are just easier to project a young players future ability. Hockey and basketball... and some sports are harder... like football and baseball.

There's a lot of shitty hockey players. Extremely wealthy, type-A, ultra-competitive parents = shitty kids. The higher up you go in the food chain the more likely you are to end up with these kind of people. We've had to deal with racism too. Mostly toward asian kids on our teams. Some truly awful stuff. Bleh.

I saw this story but didn't dive too deep on it. From my limited understanding the bulk of the bad behavior referred to in the story, while absolutely horrific... happened when this guy was like 13 years old. Should something you do when you are 13 ruin your whole life? I don't know. I mean, this guy is probably still a piece of shit, but at the same time, you have to have some hope that people can change. Currently only 6.8% of active NHL players were picked in the 4th round... so his odds of making it to the big show were probably always pretty slim. 4th rounders typically do not turn into impactful players... (rarely they can, but it is not common... at all)

I can't wait to just sit in the corner of the room and watch what happens with this.

So he predicted we'd someday have a celebrity president the same year our first celebrity president was elected! I do have a feeling that we're moving toward a reality where celebrities do run for office and it's very common. I was trying to come up with what or who the left wing version of a Donald Trump would be and I decided it would be someone like Sean Penn. Donald Trump is a genius because he cracked the code. He figured out that politics really is indistinguishable from reality television. It's all the same thing.

Why can't it be funny? Politics is funny. If you can't find humor in the ridiculousness of it all, then I don't know what to say. Humor is a human coping mechanism. I've always thought Jon Stewart did a great job of being both informative and funny. I remember back in the day they did some sort of political knowledge survey or study and watchers of the Daily Show had better knowledge of current events than most regular news watchers. Jon Stewart was a comedian first but he was also a great communicator who could cut through the crap like few in the news could. Jon Stewart was one of the leading voices speaking out against Bush during his time. No one has been able to recreate his magic. I don't think any of the copycat shows that sprung up in his absence even come close to what he was able to do.

The clip offers enough ambiguity that it ultimately means nothing. People will see what they want to see. It's clear to me that Rudy knew what was probably going to happen in that room. He was on the bed and standing up to tuck in his shirt could have changed the energy of the moment, so he stayed put, where he wanted to be, where he wanted the action to be... in the bed. Him laying down to adjust his shirt is his subtle way of moving the situation into one where he's prone. It's pretty clear what he's doing to me. I don't think he was fondling himself, but by kinda sorta starting down that path he's trying to manipulate the situation subtly to move the sexy time process along without making a strong first move. He wants her to make the move. I'm guessing he was not aware that the character she playing was supposed to be 15. I would think (hope?) that even Rudy isn't that dumb. She doesn't look 15. She looks her age (very early 20s... creepy as hell, but not a crime)

You can't blame John Stewart for any of this. I was also very amused by Trump at first. No one thought he could win anything. He was a total clown. It was a total shitshow and it made the Republican Party look like a bunch of idiots so it was funny. At the time, it was indeed funny.

That's nuts that they removed him during the game... I mean, not nuts that they would do it, because if that's when they found out then they should have acted immediately... it's just crazy that it played out that way.

We got it for free with my wife's new phone. I'll watch it... I really miss John Stewart... Trever Noah is not even in the same league.

If this thing ends up close and Trump pulls a bunch of goofy crap with negating votes and the Supreme Court puts him back in for 4 year there will be insanity like you can't imagine. The country will literally be on fire. (Even more than it is now.)

Yeah, but they were all softballs. I love how Trump was all like, "wah, you didn't ask Joe Biden hard questions like this, wah!" Hmmm... let's see if we can figure out the difference... oh yeah, you're the fucking president and 225,000 Americans have died on your watch. That's why you get the hard fucking questions you demented oblivious bat nipple. You're the god damned incumbent. You have an actual record... you can't just sit back and say everyone is doing bad... you've now done things, and you've done them badly, so we get to ask you about it. That's the whole fucking deal with being the fucking President. Maybe the questions would be easier if you hadn't fucked up so bad. Don't like hard questions? Do a better job.

He was on Colbert talking about this scene. They had to build a special wardrobe with a hidden compartment for him to wait in... in pitch black darkness. Giulinani had a security guy with him who searched the room while Cohen was hiding in the secret compartment. The only way he would communicate with the producers was via text. It was a pretty crazy setup...

The only good biopic that exists (and the only one that will ever exist) is Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story.

Any time one of these Senators try to speak from now until the end of time, the person they are speaking too should just put up their hand and say... "You are a snake tongued liar whose empty words carry no meaning. Nothing you say has any weight because you have no integrity and are a known brazen hypocrite who has no meaningful values. You believe in nothing. I have nothing to say to someone as morally craven as you are. Shut your god damned liar mouth or I will shut it for you."

Yay, the court is now 2/3 filled with judges put in place by presidents who didn't win a majority of votes and approved by a congress that represents less than half of the country pushing an agenda supported by way less than half of the country... USA USA USA

If any other President handed a reporter a big bound book with nothing of substance in it and saying that was the health care plan he had been promising for years and years it would immediately be the single biggest story of the entire year and probably sink any chance they ever had for anything for the rest of all time. It would be the most outrageous moment in pretty much any presidents career I can think of... but for Donald Trump it barely even made the news this week.

I don't know much about Moon Knight, but casting Oscar Issac as literally anyone is always a win, so yay.

I'm playing it on the easiest setting and still having tons of problems... but I'm not really a gamer anymore and my skills have atrophied like crazy. 20 year ago me would be mocking me right now. My 11 year old was making fun of me because my aim was so bad. This isn't really that much content. It's basically 3 levels that are all very insanely difficult. The first level is pretty boring and looks like any other DOOM metal military level. Level 2 is a cool Hell level I liked the look and feel of (even though it was hard as hell and frustrating, and the boss was extra stupid annoying) and so far level 3 is also very cool aesthetically, but I've just started.

I'm 2/3 of the way through and two marauders is what I would call a light breezy encounter. Maurauders are nothing. The worst are these blue ghost things that possess demons. If they manage to get into one of the big bads in a fight, just die on purpose and start over.

Yes, this game is just pissing me off at this point. They maybe should have warned people that this expansion was designed to be as difficult as possible. The crap they throw at you is flipping insane.
