I'm happy that Fox News and McConnel are turning on Trump, but at the same time, they are just as reposnsible for everything that happened as he is. They made this happen. In the short term I'm happy to have the help of any republicans who suddenly decide to grow a spine... BUT, and it's a big ass fucking BUTT... I will never forgive them. It really is a miracle that 20+ people didn't die in this thing. All it would have taken is one of those Trump dingalings to start shooting and then it's a firefight and who knows what. All it would have taken would have been one cop with a little less discipline and suddenly everyone is shooting. It could have been so much worse.

She wasn't really in the mob at that moment. She was up and away from the rest of the protestors, climbing over furniture and through the smashed in window... The man who shot her was literally like 3 feet from her with a pistol trained right at her and she kept going through that window. I don't know what she expected to happen. Clearly not that, but like, come on.

Yeah, I don't like saying people deserve to be shot... but she did this to herself. There was a mob of people beating down a door and smashing glass... with two federal officers, literally standing there like 3 feet away, with guns drawn pointed straight at them telling them to back down and this woman gets up on the barricade and starts to go through the window. 100% justified. She died on bleeding out on the floor wearing a Trump flag around her neck like a cape. It really was a depressing shocking image. I don't know how any of the republican ghouls who are pushing this stop the steal nonsense could see that and not feel completely responsible for her death.

It's already too late. Nothing matters. All of my right wing "friends" are posting stuff comparing what the Democrats are doing to how the Nazis came to power. They are comparing the Capitol Building Riot to the 2010 Wisonscon Capitol Building Protests and saying that the liberal media is bias. Nothing matters. These people are too far gone and too stupid and the Republican Party cares about nothing. We've reached peak insanity. People have lost their fucking minds. People I know and love have been brainwashed and their minds destroyed by this shit. We're watching the end of the world.

Fox News is just carrying on like it's just another news week. All of their opinion ghouls are just comparing everytihng to the BLM stuff this summer and making fun of journalists for exaggerating and of course more Hunter Biden shit. I kept flipping over there and that was literally all they were talking about. No footage of anything, they aren't showing the images. They are downplaying everything and just trying to move on. The right wingers in my Facebook are all doing the same thing. Everything is viewed as a comparison to the riots over the summer. These fucking people are incapable of self reflection. They are too stupid and up their own ass to ever change. You cannot even talk to them anymore. It's pointless.

I expect them to pivot hard into the some sort of "this wasn't a big deal at all" kind of narrative. It's just so fucking hilarious, to watch this complete and total nightmare shitshow unfolding in the exact fucking any rational person could see it happening and for them to still have to have their poker faces on and go on lying to their audiences every day... It's unreal. They really are boiled frogs... they are so deep in this deception that they can't back out now without looking like fools, even though they already have for years and they've really painted themselves into a corner.

Of course he's not going to the inauguration. Those steps were covered with country bumpkins runnning all over that place like rats... You can probably still smell them. Gross.

I can't speak for every police department all over the country, but my friend who is a St. Louis Police Officer says that it's shocking how much most police officers have embraced Trump. People who you would never expect. There is a lot of resentment and hurt in the ranks of the police department due to all of the recent anti-police sentiment sweeping the country, and it's driving many police officers to embrace Trump who they see as an ally.

It feels weird to me that 3 random people would have heart attacks during this, but who knows. I think that 52 is for the whole day. It includes people who were arrested outside for curfew and stuff like that. Bottom line, message from the government... storming the capital building... pretty okay thing to do. Go for it kids!

I'm shocked that only one person died. I truly am shocked. I would have expected the officers to hold the line. I would have assumed that angry mobs bashing down doors of the capital building while it contained like 90% of the elected officials in charge of leading this country would have resulted in armed and lethal pushback from the people tasked with protecting them. The fact that 50+ people weren't gunned down is truly surprising to me. Can you imagine if it played out like that? This would be one of the darkest days in American history. I mean, it's already a whopper, but this could have been so deadly and bloody. It was probably so close to happening. Play this chaotic insane scenario out 100 times and I bet that 99 times out of 100 it results in 20+ dead people.
