They could have easily made the Apple TV into something way way way cooler than it is. Apple stumbled ass backwards like a gang of drunken monkeys into controlling the most successful gaming platform in the history of the world. They really have no idea how to do gaming... it's not in their DNA. It's very weird, but yes, they could be a major player with minimal effort (well, minimal for the worlds richest company). They have all the pieces in place, they just need to make the play.

I think that's my problem... I think too much damage has been done to the Star Wars brand in my head. Star Wars was my entire childhood, I grew up on that stuff. I was a total mega fan... but pretty much everything that's happened to the franchise since 1999 has worked to just chisel away all of the good feeling I associate with the brand. It hasn't all been bad. The prequels were... really that bad. The new trilogy was great, okay and terrible... all at the same time... all three movies hit all those bullet points at various points... it was just sloppy and all over the place. Didn't bring back the warm fuzzies... because they started so far down in the hole. Whatever, I don't want to yuck everyone's yum as they say. I'm glad people are liking this. I enjoyed watching seasons one with my kids and they LOVED it, so there is that. We'll watch season 2 once they get a few more episodes in the can. I need to turn Disney+ back on.

I'm going back to my theory that COVID may have helped him. If enough people are fed up with everything having to do with the virus, and they agree with his dismissal of everything and fear Biden will equal more restrictions and masks... then they will vote for the guy who is promising to just move on like nothing is happening. It makes as much sense as anything else. Everyone I know is so fucking sick of everything having to do with COVID. So many people I know think it's just a bunch of nothing and everyone is over reacting.

Even if Biden wins, the real fundamental problem here is that we live in a country with 65 million plus people stupid or evil enough to vote for as man like Trump. Nothing will fix that. NOTHING.

I'm with you there. I don't understand all the love this show gets. It has the sophistication of an animated Star Wars show for 10 year olds, only in live action and with a big budget. It's not awful or anything, but I really don't think it's anything that fresh or exciting. (I'm saying this not having started season 2 yet.)
