  1. thanks. did a little research and discovered the same thing. I also discovered that the drive is removable, so I can always pull it out and put it in a PC or an updated enclosure down the road. Hopefully nextgen consoles will use at least USB 3.1, so i would be set. i bit the bullet and ordered it. seems like these drives are getting great reviews and the enclosure is one of the top rated (sells for $50 alone).
  2. Is that good, bad or just useless on an xbox? also; about getting and internal SSD, I’m seeing super cheap ones for 95-100, but I don’t want to buy bottom of the barrel and worry about failures. Seems the mid range ones are around 110-120. So with adding an enclosure this isn’t far off.
  3. I’m thinking tho with PS5/Xbox next maybe they will utilize? A bit of future proofing?
  4. Sabrent Rocket Pro 1TB NVMe USB 3.1 External Aluminum SSD (SB-1TB-NVME) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N14MM96/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_s6F3CbZTANGDA Saw this on slickdeals front page. with a coupon code, it comes down to 148. This seemed like a pretty good deal considering a sata SSD is around 110 and another 20ish for a decent enclosure. Im out of the loop on SSD technology so really NFI if this overkill or worthwhile.
  5. Really? Mine doesn’t work on the opposite side of the room, about 50’ away.
  6. Your PC would have to be within range/line of sight for the controller to work. Probably defeats the purpose then. I heard there are ways to get a PS4 controller to work using the Sony streaming app and switching profiles or something. Don’t think it’ll work with the steam app.
  7. agreed. there is also this one, but its wired, so really only good for your iphone. https://www.amazon.com/Rotor-Riot-Fortnite-Mobile-Controller/dp/B07J1J7D6Z
  8. this guy right here is the go-to: https://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Nimbus-Wireless-Gaming-Controller/dp/B01AZC3III/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=nimbus+controller&qid=1558019602&s=gateway&sr=8-3
  9. I never played Dishonored, but have always wanted to. I love the new Wolfenstein games, so this is day one for me. Grabbed the deluxe edition so if any xboners want play, Im in!
  10. https://www.theverge.com/2019/5/15/18627110/steam-link-app-ios-apple-tv-released Supports the steam controller or any other Mfi controller. As an iphone and apple TV user, this makes me happy.
  11. This is the game that takes place on on the ships, right? you cant get off and explore islands and such? such a shame. We really need a Rockstar-style pirate game. The best parts of AC: Black Flag was just sailing around exploring.
  12. this fucking blows. no matchmaking is what killed destiny for me. and TD2 was always touted as having matchmaking for every game type. i dont think there are even 8 of us on this board who played TD2 on xbox. no way i can come up with a group...and my days of using third-party apps and sites to get a party together are over.
  13. no such thing as lunch cards when i went to school. i graduated HS in 1996. pizza/bagel, chocolate milk and a chocolate chip cookie everyday for me! 2.50!
  14. thanks! im playing on my iphone, so i should be good (hopefully). im assuming im close that part so we shall find out.
  15. Im still playing FF VI on my iphone. Currently in the magitek factory. Im having an absolute blast with it. Im only hoping that I dont hit some sort of wall and required to grind for 15hrs to level up. Im also finally deep into The Witcher 3 after playing for about 15hrs at launch then getting sucked into something else. finally came back and the hooks have sunk. Ive got 27hrs on the clock and just got to Novigrad. While I am hooked on the game, I have overall mixed feeling on certain things. The good: Fully fleshed out world with tons of secrets and cool shit to discover Combat is so much tighter and more fluid than the witcher 2. Feels like a Souls-lite game. I really enjoy concocting potions and bombs before a fight. Having Played RDR2 and then coming back to this game really makes me appreciate how much depth, detail and fidelity they added to this game that is now 4 yrs old. Movement and freedom over witcher 2 is so much better. Story so far is great and much easier to follow than the witcher 2 The color palette is outstanding. From White Orchard to Velen and now Novigrad it really keeps the visual fresh and different. The bad: The amount of side-content and "?" are completely overwhelming. Its torture for someone with OCD/Completionist syndrome. I know it can be turned off, but its still insane. The game suffers from the same issues as most RPGs - Im on an urgent quest! Must save the damsel in distress before the evil ruler gets her.. BUT FIRST!!!! Let me investigate where your peasant husband disappeared to! Leveling takes too long. At 27hrs in Im only level 12. It makes the overall pacing of the game feel incredibly slow. Also seems mandatory as the jump from the last Velen mission I think was level 6 and the first Novigrad mission is level 10. It required completing a lot contracts and side-quests. Sidequest mission structure is repetitive - Talk to this person, go to this clearly outlined circle and use your witcher senses to investigate. follow the scent. fight something. Indifferent: Finding a lot of craftable gear, a lot of it is 10+ level higher than I am at. Id rather continuously find a bunch of cool loot with an occasional craftable item that is badass. However, I am starting to really find a bunch of cool relic items and gear now. Early on it was few and far between EDIT - and something I forgot - the armor aesthetics in this game are terrible. I look like a fucking court jester more than a badass monster-slayer!!!!
  16. Ghost of Tshushima looks aweseome. I was hoping it would be a holiday 19 release. bummer.
  17. what was everyone's expectations? I cant believe anyone would be upset about that turn of events. To her: She was betrayed by Tyrrion. She was betrayed and rejected by Jon Snow. She was Betrayed by Varys. Two of her dragons were killed. Sir Jorah was killed. And Cersei gave her a big fuck you with beheading Missandei. She stated she feels alone in Westeros, she has no one. She stated that the people of Westeros loved Jon Snow and not her. When she found out that everyone knows who Jon is, she realizes shes never going to be accepted as the true Queen of the Iron Throne. She snapped.
  18. For real. I thought this episode was fantastic. From the short, emotional exchange between Tyrrion and Varys to the way Drogon comes out of the dark when she states "Mother of Dragons". I actually had to rewind that part to see it again. It was frightening. FF to when the Golden Army is squaring off and they hear that rumbling behind them. I still didnt expect it to be the dragon and when it busted through the wall, that was a holy shit moment. Dani leveled the entire fucking city. The Red Keep is gone. Is there even an Iron Throne anymore? She truly is the Mad Queen and has become the worst Targaryen. All these seasons of building her up to be a champion of the people and she killed tens of thousands of people in a absolute fit of rage. I thought this was amazing...and I didnt expect her to go even remotely that far. I felt Cersei and Jaimies demise was fitting, although I was hoping it would be more brutal as well. Cersei died petrified, alone and buried by the one thing she wanted most in this world, and Jaimie went out like the little bitch hes always been, coddling his sister. I loved everything about this episode. I had wondered how they could top The Nights Watch battle and then definitely did. This went in a direction I wasnt expecting. Cant wait for the finale.
  19. I agree about turn-based vs action. Im currently playing FF VI (for the 1st time!) on my iphone and the gameplay really holds up. It makes for a really good mobile experience as well. Trying to mash buttons on a tiny screen just sucks. One thing I hope they do change (and I certainly dont miss from the OG jrpgs) is the randomized battle encounters where you are getting into a fight every 3 seconds just exploring.
  20. agreed. we learned our lesson. they said the puppy was sick and they rescued her and nursed her back to health with "their vet". they gave us this brown liquid and said it helps prevent kennel cough. and that we could get a free vet visit if we used their vet for the first checkup. i declined and said i would take her to my vet. every one of her litter mates that went to their vet died. turned out to not be a real vet at all. the rescue has since been shutdown by a crusade led by my wife. she was even on the news for it and held protests out front. it got wild for a little bit with people doing drivebys at our house and shit. appearently these people how been running shady puppy operations all over LI under different alias and names. Switching from pet stores to rescues, etc. They have since moved down south after this store closed and they were banned from operating any business having to do with animals.
